Just got a text from ex colleague. It was a response from me wishing them happy thanksgiving, but then they added how bad it’s gotten since I left. My departure wasn’t pretty, unloaded on upper manager about how bad it was with manager in charge with examples etc. Today I found out it’s worse and causing issues with ex colleague’s mental health. She/he is a great to employee, works hard and is just a great person all around. Now applying left and right anywhere to get out, but is just so upset. I gave my best words of encouragement. There are good people there and now I just really bad because I’m in a great place surrounded by positive people and work life balance is wonderful. Wondering if anyone else has gone through this? Got me sad right now.

Long story short, I was stood up for my date and I'm trying to get a time slot in with my piercer for tomorrow to have something to look forward to. Nothing very complex, just a higher lobe to finally get a second piece on my right ear (it has only a regular lobe, my left has 3 piercings soo a bit uneven)
What are your experiences getting piercings after heartbreak, breakups or other tough events?

2024.11.27 18:40 Pfeiffer_Cipher My mom is gaslit by my father and I feel a responsibility to showher she's not in the wrong
My father makes comments that demean, belittle, and confuse my mom on the regular. He blames her for things he's done wrong. Getting mad at her for having the gall to contact him about something important while he was, unbeknownst to her, drunk; patting her leg and saying he's proud of her in a condescending tone when she recognizes a song he knows, excluding her from family activities because "she wouldn't like it" and then yelling at her when she expresses that she feels left out, questioning her memory despite the fact that he's the one with documented memory issues, etc. He's been doing this as long as I've been around, and until my brother and I started to call him out on his bullshit, he did the same thing to us.
My mom just takes it. The few times she does argue back, my brother and I back her up, and of course that gets plenty of whining from my dad about how we're teaming up against him (gee, I wonder why?). Recently, though, my mom will come to me after these conversations and ask if she was in the wrong. Half the time she looks like she's about to cry. And I walk her through my explanation, my perspective on what happened, so she can realize that 90% of the time she isn't the problem. It is almost always my dad starting arguments and causing problems. In these instances she feels more like a friend than a mom. We're both adults, i guess that's how it goes when you get to a certain age.
But God, does it fucking sting to see her questioning her own sanity, events she remembers clearly, and it hurts even more to know that she will be with this man until he dies. They've been married for decades, and no matter how far he goes, she reluctantly sticks by his side.

Hey I’m reaching out because I am hoping to buy a few sealed packs for my cousins this holiday season. We all grew up on pokemon and I thought it would be cool to buy individual packs from when we played(pre 07/08). I looked through pricecharting’s list of unopened pack prices and understand they are expensive. I wouldn’t be against spending if the price is right but alternatively If I don’t want to break the bank what would be my most affordable options of packs from this era?
Alternatively Ive seen that some Spanish cards are a lot cheaper and thought it could be fun to spend more opening less popula valuable spanish packs. One set i saw was ruby saphire 03, are there any other Spanish sets from this era or pre platinum that would be affordable?

 | Random question: I live in the suburbs and a rooster randomly showed up earlier this year. He wasn't causing trouble and no one really cared that he was around so he's kind of become the unofficial neighborhood mascot. Unfortunately the inevitable has happened and a stray dog got ahold of him (he's fine, just bald on the back end now!) It's lit a fire under a few people's butts though and now we're taking steps to re-home him. Another neighbor offered to take him to his dad's property but his dad already owns 3 roosters. 2024.11.27 18:40 dobbydisneyfan Meet Brahmin, my (estimated) 1-1.5 year old male leopard gecko.
 | Had him for nearly a month now. He’s settling in quite well. Named him after the Brahman cattle breed because apparently they derived from India, where this guy’s ancestors were likely from. And spelled it like the spelling used for the cattle creatures in the Fallout games because I love those games. Plus, his spots remind me Holstein cattle and he kind of walks and sploots like a cow. He readily switched from an all cricket diet to a varied diet of mealworms, dubias, and crickets. He is exploring, eating, pooping, and shedding all as he should be. I’m happy to receive any advice. My knowledge of exotics mostly comes from caring for jumping spiders and my brother’s crested gecko. I know some of that knowledge transfers and some doesn’t. However, I do ask that you be kind. This guy was kind of sprung on me as a semi-emergency situation, and so I’m working slowly on things like saving up for a bigger enclosure, better equipment, etc. Last pic is of the boy in shed because I think he is too cute. submitted by dobbydisneyfan to leopardgeckos [link] [comments] |
