2024.11.27 22:28 No_Builder_862 Missing period but Dr start meds for my FET
Not pregnant. I’m currently waiting for my period to start so I can proceed with my first frozen embryo transfer, but it’s now 11 days late. I went to my clinic for bloodwork and ultrasound, and they said everything looks normal. They’ve advised me to start the medication for the FET today, and I think I’ll follow their guidance.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. My cycle is usually regular, so I’m not sure why it’s delayed. The clinic mentioned it could be due to various factors but didn’t specify. Has this happened to anyone before?

Regularly need to cut 3m (10ft) long rolls of plastic down to various smaller sizes. Currently using a mitre saw . It does the job but wouldn't be the safest implement for it to be honest . Grinders or high speed handheld cutter create heat which is obviously no good as it melts the plastic and then roll won't open out .

My father is a malignant narcissist. My poor mama stayed and so my sister and I have grown up and lived around him most of our lives. I have only realized and put words to what/who he truly is in the last year or two and have yet to start therapy for myself. I’ve found answers to explain many of his actions, but two things that he has done/said in the past still kinda baffle me and so here I am, asking for advice.
- My father was furious when my mom paid off her student loans. Mama was a stay at home, homeschool mom. Has not worked outside the home since I (the oldest) was born. They have had other debt through the years and paid it off, but when it came to her student loans, he would always say it “would be next.” Never was. He never paid more than the minimum $35-50 payment on it. Fast forward to when I graduate HS, my mom, sister, and I start a business from home, eventually outgrowing it and moving into a commercial space. We start taking real paychecks and my mom saved a lot of hers and paid her loans off in one lump sum. He was LIVID. This was about 4-5 years ago now and I don’t remember much of what he said other than “why didn’t she consult him about it first”. I still don’t really understand this other than he’s always been obsessed with “having money in the bank” (like, more than necessary), even when there is debt to be paid.
- I’ve determined that I took on the “truth teller” role in my family. Started standing up for the three of us girls pretty darn early in life and calling his crap out. Twice in the past year or so, when I got so hurt or fed up with things he’d done and mistakenly got emotional in front of him, he has said that I “needed to stop playing the victim” and grow up. New wording I’ve never heard from him before. Drives me insane, makes me feel even more like I am the crazy one rather than him.

2024.11.27 22:28 0urlasthope [TX] New manager here. I have a good employee who is salaried but non exempt. Often we do not even have 40 hours a week of work. has been needing to take her elderly mother to doctors appointments.
So to plug the difference to 40, I will usually just let him leave a bit early on Friday and add the hours to make it 8 hours (established tradition at this new workplace). Lately he's been needing to take his parent to doctor appointments, and I have not been asking he make up the hours, and it's not been a big deal because it's only a couple hours a week, and we were lacking work to assign. Officially though, our sick leave is only for yourself.
However, I'm scared to set a precedent seeing as the frequency of care needed may increase. And I do not want this employee to be shocked if I start needing to make up missed time or ask them to use FMLA.
On the other hand, I am hesitant to change the rules now because it may seem like I am not trusting the employee and making a big deal over a couple hours every couple weeks.
Does anyone have any advice? I am thinking I need to squash this bug now and adhere to the rules and ask him to make up the time, regardless if the current workload actually needs 40 hours a week.
