2024.11.28 02:50 averyuniqueuzername Genuine question about the usefulness of doge
I wanna preface this by saying I am not hating on doge nor am I trying to spread negativity I am purely asking this in good faith to learn.
So I’ve been watching doge coin for a while now. I even bought some back in 2021 and I still hold some to this day just because why not? But I’m not really sure if there’s any real reason why anyone expects it will get bigger? I know it’s based around a meme and usually those get labeled as “shit coins” but it seems like doge is taken a bit more seriously than the average meme coin and basically what im trying to understand here is where that hype actually comes from. Do people have any reason to suspect that it will ever become a widely useable coin or is it more of just that people really have that much faith in the coin to take off for really no reason other than hype?
I remember back in 2021 when it had its massive boost from all the hype and then later on it ended up dying back out and has now just recently been revived from the crypto surge that’s been going on. But without any practical uses for the coin to make it worth holding would it not just be constantly stuck in this loop of hype based surges and then massive crashes?
Again this is not me dissing doge as I said I hold some myself I’d love for it to hit $1 I’m just trying to understand the hype around it

2024.11.28 02:50 No_Baseball_6750 Cat dashes at other cats in the house (introduction fail)
Hey everyone, I am at a loss so I'm coming here for help, sorry for the long post
My roomate and I just moved in together for the first time back in September, he has one cat (Cheddar), and I have two cats (Ben and Tiny). My cat Tiny is a big grey cat and she is about 13-14, but a very young 13-14, Ben is about 8-9, and his cat Cheddar is 2.
We moved into a townhouse with two floors, and he moved in a few weeks before I did so she had free reign of the house. When I moved in I kept my cats in my room for a few weeks to let them settle, and then we began the process of introducing them. We started by swapping items with their scent on them like toys and blankets, and then we put Cheddar in his room to let my cats explore the home. I had their food outside his door so they would eat together with the door as a barrier, and then we opened the door, with a baby gate in betweeen.
Tiny was a bit hissy and fussy, but she normally just puffs up and doesnt do much about it, and Cheddar had absolutely no reaction. She could see my cats from the baby gate and just meowed and ate like normal with no reactions.
We then put the baby gate on my door and let Cheddar back out and she loved watching my cats through the gate, again no hissing, no signs of aggression, just curiosity. So eventually she got through a gap in the babygate and into my room, I was present and it had been over a week of them seeing eachother, so I monitored Cheddar sniffing and walking around in my room. But the moment she saw Tiny it was like a bullet out of a gun, and she chased her under the bed and they began to fight.
We broke it up, but everytime since then we have tried Cheddar immediately goes for Tiny. We have tried using phermone diffusers, pet harnesses, pet playpens, anything you can think of. We are currently trying the Jackson Galaxy products but its only been a few days so nothing yet. We keep the cats separated and trade who is in a bedroom so that they all get enrichment, but keep them away from eachother. We also try to play with her really hard before attempting to introduce them
So just now I was getting laundry out of the dryer and Cheddar was in the hallway outside my door, laying in front of it completely relaxed, I opened my door to try and scoot by but Tiny was in the room and Cheddar took off in an instant and chased her under the bed and they began fighting.
I am at a loss of what to do because Cheddar is a really good cat, and according to her dad she never acted this way to the other cat she met previously? She did live with a small dog beforehand, but I never saw her bolt after him when I was over there before we moved in together. She really is a sweet cat, but she just blacks out when she sees my cats and there is no opportunity to try and try to redirect her before she takes off. This is the only problem me and my new roomate have been having and I am at a loss for how to have a harmonious household.
Help.

genuinely what does this even mean? like no actually not everyone has a debilitating mental disorder that causes you to obsess and perform compulsions to the point it can even drive you to suicide. for some reason people seem to think that if a disorder is common then it's easier to deal with or not as serious when in reality having ocd feels like losing your mind

2024.11.28 02:50 cloversunbeam Should I bring my vegan dishes to Thanksgiving tomorrow?
Hey Y’all so I’m going to Thanksgiving at my boyfriend’s family’s house tomorrow and I prepared all these amazing things for me to eat like green bean casserole, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, stuffing… and I know I will be the only vegan there. I made enough to share with others but wondering if it’s worth it to haul over all my food if they all have their own nonvegan versions available. I’m fine with eating leftovers the rest of the week but Thanksgiving is about sharing so should I bother? I really went all out this year too 🤤

2024.11.28 02:50 warm-and-calm Are Extroverts Generally More Sexually Promiscuous Than Introverts? Looking for Insights Based on Experience
Hi everyone,
I’ve been curious about how personality traits, particularly extroversion and introversion, might influence sexual behavior. In your experience or personal observations, do extroverts tend to be more sexually promiscuous than introverts?
This isn’t meant to be a judgmental or negative question—just an honest curiosity about whether being outgoing and socially inclined might correlate with having more sexual partners or being more open to casual encounters.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear your thoughts, stories, or insights on the topic!
Thank you in advance for your perspectives!

2024.11.28 02:50 MrFoxLovesBoobafina The Beatles (Imaginary) Eras Tour
Beatles fans,
I've made something that I'm quite proud of and wanted to share it with you all. I created an imaginary "eras tour", as if the Beatles went on a final world tour together in - say - 1990 or so (of course, in my imagination, John Lennon did not die). I structured it as a "Double CD", so 80 minutes per CD (for those who remember that era). The first CD gets up to Abbey Road. The second CD starts with Let It Be, then contains selections from their solo works.
Below is the tracklist plus a legend showing where each recording is from. The most difficult was John, as he has a lot less in terms of solo recordings than Paul. So I squeezed in as much John as I could, but you definitely have to suspend disbelief at times, as the recording quality of John's live stuff tends to be a lot worse. I've also taken studio outtakes or demos and pretended they were live by adding reverb and audience noises.
Anyway, I think the results are pretty great and making/listening to this was a pretty emotional experience for me. I hope you enjoy it!
