2024.11.28 03:50 raspberry58 roommate’s dog tearing up our stuff and bruising us but she’s yelling over the thermostat
My sister’s been living in the apartment renting a room in a 4-bed apartment for over a year. It’s been okay so far, but a couple of months ago, the office contacted her about a new roommate who had a dog. My sister wasn’t happy about it since she had asked for no pets on her application, but she thought it could work since the animal was claimed to be an ESA.
The dog was supposed to be a husky, but it turned out to be a pit bull. There’s no issue with the breed, but it was very misleading, and the dog’s behavior has objectively been a problem. It’s untrained, constantly underfoot, begging for food, sniffing butt, and jumping on people, leaving bruises. It follows my sister everywhere, making it hard for her to cook or relax.
The roommate moved in and immediately started using my sister’s things, like pillows I gifted her on her B-Day and other items in the living room, without asking, assuming it’s everyone’s. Then she went on and, without any communication, arranged the whole living room to her liking, cluttering it with lots of stuff my sister didn’t want in the room. The dog chews on everything, ruining things and making them smell awful. My sister tried to be understanding at first, but recently we’ve had to label and hide things to protect them.
The roommate often leaves dirty dishes in the sink, and instead of dealing with them, she complains to my sister about the dishwasher not being unloaded. Yes, she is sick and very busy with stuff to become a medical professional, so sometimes it’s hard. We’re also chill about the mess to some degree since things happen, but she’s been very bratty about it. She totally disregards the discomfort she brings to others and only cares about what she doesn’t like in the house.
I come often to help with chores and cooking. I always wash rommates dishes and put them away, it’s never a problem for me and I always wanted to do a good neighborly thing. I once even got a passive-aggressive thank you from her. Lol. So yeah, she doesn’t even acknowledge any effort. she just tries to find some problem with us, it seems, to cover up her own behavior.
Tonight though, she decided to show herself.
My sister has a fever today. The apartment is always cold because the roommate keeps the thermostat at 65 or 67. My sister needed it warmer, so I turned it up to 75-77. The roommate came in, screaming, cursing after every word, shouting in an aggressive way to someone on the phone, saying how “it’s not cool” and complaining on the phone about how hot it was, making sure my sister could hear. She was so loud it actually kind of scared my sister, who’s already feeling awful.
Then she proceeded to send a long, passive-aggressive message about the temperature and the labels on our things, which I don’t understand how she has time to notice and get upset about. It feels like she’s just looking for a reason to get upset with us. Like yeah those are our things and we labeled them? How’s that passive aggressive and rude lol.
My sister has tried to keep the peace, but it’s becoming really hard. Any advice is appreciated. We are Russian and moved not too long ago and this childish behavior really makes us feel funny about it all. We usually say things in a very straightforward manner but we need help with how to communicate with her or deal with the situation

I (F) am 17 today and years ago when i was between 7-10 years old i have been m0lested by my older brother (he is 6 years older than me). He used to call me to his room and ask me to strip naked and lay down and he would then touch me in my private areas and he would also make me stroke it for him by taking my hand and stroke his d with it. I didnt know it was wrong i stayed quiet (until i asked my mom if it was wrong to do stuff with their siblings). I know that i should tell my mom but the thing is that my brother is helping her financially a lot because my dad is very selfish with his money. Also, my mom had 7 miscarriages before having my older brother the eldest, after him she lost 2 more then she had my older sister then me then my younger sister so she always preferred my brother a little more than us (even tho she denies it) because he is her first born and is her only boy (she still love us a lot). Because of that, I’m also scared she actually 0ff herself because i know her mental health isn’t doing well because of financial issues. But i cant stand seeing him everyday because of what he has done to me, i hate him so much, he never even apologized . He even have a (soon as to be 2 yo) son with his girlfriend that lives with us. I really have no idea what to do because i hate the drama that it will cause and what if they brush it off and i’ll have to keep seeing him after the confrontation. I really need help i cant live with this no more and i cannot afford therapy.

Hey y’all. Just looking for some advice and to vent. Long post so hang with me.
I hunt central Indiana, private land. I have a 15 acre woods that my stand sits on the north edge of. Stand faces north. Looking north and east are 15-20 acre woods that are surrounded by corn fields. I have planted hay food plots and will do turnips next year on the north edge.
Started hunting 3 years ago and have been successful each year. I have seen does and bucks equally while sitting. Have passed on smaller bucks in years past.
But for some reason, this year is different. All spring/ summe and most of fall, almost everyday and night, I have gotten deer on my cameras. Equal does and bucks. But they disappeared as soon as rut started. Due to me being a farmer and a night nurse, i can’t get out much during bow (maybe once or twice). So gun season is my main season. These 2 weeks have been agony.
I practice scent control, get out 40min before shooting light and leave as soon as I can’t see around me. Not being loud. I sit at least 4 hours per hunt. No one else hunts the area. I haven’t changed anything from the past years.
My friends who also hunt (private and public) are successful this year but I’m getting skunked. I don’t think I’ll be able to get out to hunt after this weekend due to life things.
I’m frustrated and sad. So if anyone has any advice, leave a comment. Is it normal to not harvest a deer every year?

I need to go to France to study the language for over 90 days. My only possible time frame with work etc is Feb - May. Lo and behold, I only have 8 weeks to start the visa process.
Good news is: I have two nationalities. None are EU ofc. And I don’t need a tourist visa for either if I’ll be there for under 90 days. But my program is longer than that!
I was thinking mb I can get into the EU with one and have the other one shipped by my local embassy to France? Or mb start my visa process IN France? Would I have to leave the EU at some point with either option?
