This is a fantasy duology about Lazlo Strange, an orphan who dreams of going to a mysterious faraway city. It has been known as Weep ever since its name mysteriously vanished from memory years ago. However, when he finally journeys there, he discovers it is in need of his help. He also mets a beautiful blue skinned woman in his dreams.
This book is so beautiful and lushly imagined. However, it manages to balance this beauty with dark and complicated themes. Every single character is fleshed out and morally gray. My favorite was Minya, who is haunted by childhood trauma and stuck as a child indefinitely. She is bloodthirsty and obsessed with control and power, but is depicted in an empathetic way. The sequel expands the world even more, with new revelations and an awesome new character.
My one issue was I found the romance a bit saccharine but I don't tend to enjoy romance plotlines anyway.

I feel like the topic of what happens after death is somewhat similar to god situation,why?because in both cases we are not capable of gathering evidence.yet some choose to believe that there is death-birth cycle,some believe it's heaven vs hell,some believe there will be nothing (somewhat similar to what we experience in sleep(i personally believe this))but the thing is we don't clearly know what happens,yet if you ask a rational person, their answer would be I would cease to exist,there will be nothing,they don't hold somekind of agnostic position that oh we don't know what happens after death,they base their conclusion from what death means?what is the reason behind we are alive?and then conclude i is the brain and as Brain is dead there is no i , something left behind called soul to experience things ,because experience is there because of brain(I was always curious about this since I was a hindu,I used to believe in souls or bhatakti aatma and I wonder if eyes are here how would a soul see?)
So my point is why don't we apply the same reasoning to god also,ofc we don't know clearly that there is god or not or whatever,but what's wrong with believing there is no god(Some people put atheist and theist in the same plate and say they both believe something which they have no knowledge about and feel superior(some agnostics)),we don't have direct evidence but what I see in the world and what is the definition of god according to most people,it is very logical to come to the conclusion that there is no god
