On average, I probably get at least 6 hours of authentic English exposure from podcasts, YouTube, or TV shows. Yet, I still get influenced by occasional incorrect English sentences.
Many people, including me, speak English as a second language. We have a higher tolerance for inaccuracies of language with each other. It’s fine if we notice some errors or mispronunciation here and there. However, I have noticed that even 1 hour per week of the incorrect input can mess up my sense of how to use certain words. Particularly, there’s a person I interact with on the weekly basis who says something like this very frequently: ”Next, let’s talk about the new procedure regarding to/for something something….”, and many similar mistakes. At first I thought it was strange, but didn’t think too much. After a few weeks, I realized I was not sure if it was wrong. I think the person is confused with phrases like “with/in regard to,…”, and after hearing a few dozens times of incorrect sentences, I also started to feel it was not strange.
Today, I took time to refresh the correct usages. Next time I hear the person talking, I think I will notice the incorrect sentence, and hopefully won’t make the same mistake when I speak.

How concerned should I really be about armor ratings? I'm role playing a wood elf vampire hunter so full dawnguard armor. I have put points into light armor stealth archery mainly with 3 points split into one handed and block. My character is a sneak thief/assassin but also fighting the vampire menace for personal reasons. Just on the side I have some alchemy and restoration points for the role playing purposes. Im lvl23 playing on adept. My point is the light downguard helmet is hideous and I really love the look of the heavy one. I have 3 points in agile defender and custom fit. The other perks in in light sounds great but should I get them if I hate the light helmet? Also how do shields affect armor rating the downguard shield looks cool and fits my character but it's a heavy shield. Does heavy armor affect stealth? I'm half way up that tree. I plan on doing dark brotherhood and thieves guild with this character too swapping armor around when it fits the mood. Thanks to anyone who reads this and gives some advice

New and Upcoming Releases Hori's Steam Controller is coming to the US on December 16. They also released a new symmetrical controller, the Horipad Turbo SL.
Speaking of Steam, there might be a new, Steam Controller 2 in the future, with the codename "Ibex". Some renders have appeared recently. "Roy", on the other hand, is the codename for its upcoming VR controller.
GuliKit has a new mid-range (in terms of price) TMR controller in the form of the KK3.
Not to be outdone, GameSir has similarly launched another TMR controller, the GameSir Cyclone 2. There's also a leak of a potential Steam controller from the company.
8BitDo has a new Retro Receiver for the Saturn.
And last but not least is Flydigi's latest release, the Flydigi Direwolf 3.
Miscellaneous Items Gamepadla will now have additional entries for miscellaneous features.
iFixit has a video tutorial on how to install GuliKit's TMR modules on Xbox controllers.
Since techraito mentioned Dynamic Latency Input (DLI) recently, I thought it's a good time to revisit the topic and that it's capped at 125 Hz (in case why you were wondering how does an Xbox controller respond so fast despite operating at just 125 Hz).
And lastly, for those in the US, the next few weeks might be the best time to shop for controller as come next year, tariffs may raise the prices of controllers. (Not an issue for the high-end controllers but your "budget"-oriented controllers might not be so cheap anymore.)

Hey everyone, I’m currently on thanksgiving break and I’m looking for friends, preferably long term. I like to have nice people to continuously talk to, just about our day or things going on in our lives.
A little bit about me, I am in my last year of undergrad and I’m currently applying to graduate school. I want to be a speech therapist! I live in CA and I enjoy running and working out. This year I ran 2 half marathons and my goal for next year is to work on strength training. So if anyone has any tips, please let me know. Cause I’m a decent runner but I’m not too strong 🥲.
In my free time, when I’m not running, I enjoy baking and reading. I’m currently reading “the five people you meet in heaven” and it’s been very eye opening. Probably one of the most impactful books I’ve read so far. Im into spirituality and self help, my fave speakers are Neville Goddard, Alan Watts and Caroline myss. I love the idea that we can become anyone want to be if we put our mind to it, and just the huge role our thoughts and beliefs play in shaping our lives.
I’m also a hopeless romantic and enjoy romcoms/hallmark movies 😍. Listening and watching documentaries is also something I really enjoy. One of my fave movies that’s based on a true story is Everest.

2024.11.28 06:30 KazeDaaaaaaaa I took basic math for 10th can I still pursue architecture?
I’m from NE India. I recently got into architecture, but by now it’s probably very late to change the math I selected. I plan to study abroad after 12th and I don’t mind taking a gap year to compensate for math. Also , which stream would be a better pick? I have interest is none of the subjects. I do moderately fine in most subjects though I need to put effort in math. Originally I planned to go for animation or music , spent years practicing those but those areas usually have a bleak future so I thought I’d go for something more practical. Now I know architects don’t do that well either but I feel they’re in a better position than the previous mentioned. I ask for advice from people around me, there are two types of responses : “go for what you like” and “jee or neet” And I despise both of them. The previous because just because you like something doesn’t mean it’s lucrative and would pay your bills. I love painting, animation and singing (all that) but I know those won’t put food on my plate. This response is very idealistic and out of touch with reality. The latter is worse though , it feels like putting everyone in a farm, harvesting the best meat and selling it off for corporate slavery (I know there’s corporate slavery everywhere. No offense who to people who take it because they genuinely like it). “India is only good for doctoengineer” well with that mindset, India will be stagnant. And oh I love doctors and engineers with all my heart but I could never and would never be them because I just don’t like the topic. And I’m an atheist by the way, so I do not believe in reincarnation and all, I believe I have only ONE life , one chance at living and I don’t want it to be so dull and grey. So if it’s one of these responses, please keep it in and don’t let it out here. But if someone has a fresh new perspective to give me , please do because I’m at a point of utter confusion. It’s so sick that someone can’t be something because they can’t pass one exam in one go. Why aren’t they given a chance to learn? Also My math teacher this year was horrid, absolute hell of an experience.
