this is not super vce related but more yr 12/school in general related ig. okay so i’ve been a top student my entire life. genuinely have been number 1 in my year level every single year since the age of 7. this year (year 11) i fucked it. look i’ve still been doing decently well like A/A+’s in physics (with a couple Bs), A’s in bio, B+’s/A’s in english, A+’s in general math, A’s in methods and kinda shit in chem (like ranging anywhere from 45% to 90%, it’s been a weird year). but clearly it wasn’t enough to put me at 1st, or even top 4 (top 4 get awards), and i’m mad. not so much at the school but at myself and i just want to rage and yell at everyone and im just angry. i need to get back to where i was and i need advice. anyone have any academic comeback stories?? legit tempted to disappear for a month over the holidays and grind and have a major glow up (school wise and physically). anyway HELP.

So I've made my first beer, a Belgian blonde ale. It didn't turn out very blonde, more a muddy brown, and the abv was slightly stronger than expected.
But, thanks to a lot of help from this sub, it was drinkable. I now know what I can do better next time. Now it's time to choose another recipe.
My limiting factor at the moment is that I can't cool my fermentor below around 22-24 C (71-75F). So I need a style/yeast that can work well at those temps. It's already getting really hot here in Brazil, so I want something that's a little more foregiving with temperature.
I've been looking at a couple of sites that have recipe kits like this one here and this one. But they don't seem to list the exact yeast on the page, I guess they do when you buy the recipe.
I could buy one of them or follow a recipe from somewhere else, provided I can get my hands on the right yeast/grain etc.
So what would you recommend? I'm looking to make 10L using a fairly simple home setup. Thanks.

I have lived in my rented property since December 2020 and have paid my bills to e-on monthly on a variable tariff.
In 2023 around May, I received a back billing charge. I am dyslexic and autistic so my mum helps me manage my bills and helped me with the situation. Understanding all the charges on my statement was very confusing however after a few phone calls we (sort of) understood and paid the bill and were assured that I was fully up to date.
Around May 2024, I received another back billing charge. This one was a lot more and went all the way back to 2021. We spoke to citizens advice who made us aware of the backbilling code and have tried to work with e-on to resolve this.
We let them know of my own difficulties and tried to set up appointment times so I could handle the calls with my mum present. This did not happen and I began receiving threats of debt collectors. We started a complaint process which has halted these threats and my mum has now fully taken over handling this as it’s been stupidly stressful due to my low income.
I also tried to access the financial support but was deemed not qualified.
I understand that there will be back charges to pay due to the variable tariff however they are saying that the back billing code does not apply to me despite these charges going back to 2021, and I have never failed to miss a payment, and was also reassured in 2023 that I was fully up to day. When we requested the call logs this call was not included.
I am hoping to receive some advice on where we go from here. Thanks

Hi.
I have a bit of a problem. My workplace are running vmware and nutanix workloads today and we have been given a pretty steep savings demand, like STIFF numbers or we are out.
So i have been looking at openstack as an alternernative and i got kinda stuck trying to guess what kind of hardware bill i would create, in the architecture phase. I have been talking a little with canonical a few years back but did not get the budget then. "We have vmware?"
My problem is that i want to avoid the HCI track since it has caused us nothing but trouble in Nutanix and im getting nowhere in trying to figure out what services can be clustered and which cant. I want everything to be redundant, so theres like three times as many, but maybe smaller, nodes for everything. I want to be able to scale compute and storage horisontally over time and also open up for a GPU cluster, if anyone pays for it. This was not doable in nutanix with HCI, for obvious reasons...
As far as i can tell i need a small node for cluster management, separate compute nodes and storage nodes to fullfill the projected needs. It's whats left that i cant really get my head around, networking, UI and undercloud stuff.... Should i clump them all together or keep them separated? Together is probably easier to manage and understand but perhaps i need more powerful individual nodes.
If separate, how many little nodes/clusters would i need?
The docs are very....vague....about how to best do this and i dont know, i might be stark raving mad to even think this is a good idea?
Any thoughts? Pointers? Should i shut up and embrace HCI?

So I like this guy in my school, and he's one year older than me. I don't even think he's ever even looked at me, let alone talked to me. So the thing is he just got out of like a two week long relationship, and I don't know what to do. If I tell him I like him, he won't do anything because he's never even looked at me.
And also, my friend also likes him, which makes everything twice as hard. I'm pretty shy, so talking won't work. Should I do anything, or wait until this passes? I've had pretty bad experiences in the past on crushes, and I'm worried the same thing will happen.
(So what happened was we were in the same class, we knew each other and all, and I decided to give him a note that said, "Dear ___ I like you but it's ok if you don't." Thing was that he like my then best friend, and he threw that note away, and didn't talk to me again. Now they're together and I hope they break up and have an awful time. But I could fortunately escape from that incident because a couple of months later, I moved continents. They sent me a couple of threatening emails, and then they stopped, and now I hope they've broken up).
Anyways, I've only been living here for four months, and I'm not sure if it's too little time or not. Any suggestions on what I can do??
