Some of my colleagues cry sometimes. They describe themselves as sensitive. I try to tell them, “Don’t take what people say too personally…” Of course, there are situations where I totally understand why they might feel frustrated, but crying?
I listen to them and try to comfort them. Then, I tell them, “Don’t cry.” Because, in my mind, if a job makes you cry that much, it’s not normal. When it gets to that point, I suggest they talk to their manager.

Hi everyone, I just thought of this idea. I’m not planning to actually build it but someone of you might find this useful.
I realized that often people want to learn new skills for themselves/for their career but either they lack the motivation or get they overwhelmed by super long courses without having the time to actually do the course = they don’t learn anything.
You could build a platform offering micro challenges where users can learn bite-sized skills in different domains. Each challenge would be relatively easy to accomplish to keep the motivation high and have the users keep learning with your platform.
I think your target audience would be busy professionals and self-improvement enthusiasts.
You could start a simple MVP specialized in one skill people can learn with this approach and then scale later.
If I was building it I would monetize it through one time purchases for one specific course (I love one time purchases) or you could offer a classic yearly membership for unlimited access.
If you’re interested just take the first step today: build a simple landing page to allow people preorder their first challenge, run some ads on social media, talk about it online, collect emails and validate your idea before even building the first course.
I personally like this idea a lot but I understand this isn’t something easy to build especially because you‘d need someone who has the knowledge in the field to actually create the courses.
I hope you found this post interesting and someone of you might eventually decide to actually build this idea :)

Hi, i very recently (2 days ago) created an account on IBKR and wanted to start trading. However, sometimes weird happened, I invested in a ETF with fractional shares the first time ans it worked, but when i tried buying more fractional shares from a different ETF, it told me to enable trading fractional shares. When i checked the fractional shares permissions it showed "Your request to trade Stocks is being processed." is there any way to fix this?

Ok I don’t even know where to start I dated this girl (A 21) for about 3 months and I knew her beforehand and dated her before as well for about a month both times when we were teenagers(14 then 17). She broke up with me because she was very very very insecure and her own feelings about herself and my “type” was a big issue for her and it killed the relationship hard. To be fair I was not there for her like I should have been and I should’ve treated her better than how I did. Another one of her reasons why she broke up is because she self diagnosed herself with BPD, said she had mental issues and needed genuine help. Although I really doubt she did have those issues because she got into a relationship 3 months later and she’s extremely stubborn when getting help….
After the relationship we kept talking and it was very messy…. She would blame me for her insecurities saying I’m the source for them or all of it came from me or that she loved me more than I did her a lot of words that just were hurtful or she just didn’t pull through. Onetime she was just outright gross and had asked me out of the blue “how big was your dick, like measurement wise, don’t worry about the context” and then didn’t respond after I asked why did you say that.
It came to a point where I was pretty much done with her and then cut contact with her after blowing up on her and saying A LOT of hurtful and embarrassing shit to her that I said in anger self hate and guilt. I then forgot about her for about 3 years and moved on with my life.
Now it’s 3 years since I’ve actually been in contact with her the last time she contacted me was over a life threatening tragedy that my sibling was a victim of I never responded back because I personally thought she had no right speaking to me or even trying to care about me or my family with the way she treated me so I never responded to her at all whatsoever. I recently got in contact with her again because of her cousin(E 21) that I also haven’t talked to in a really long time he got caught in the crossfire a lot and I didn’t feel like I was getting help or I was really being treated right with him as a friend I’ve known since I was 6 regardless he was in a very poor position to be stuck in between family and friends.
A makes me feel very anxious I have not thought about her in 3 years and a lot of the feelings and memories I had before are coming back and I’m not really comfortable with it all. I had asked E if she was the same kinda person from 3 years ago and what really changed with her, I had also asked if she moved on from the relationship and from everything and he had said that he has no idea if she’s fully moved on and truly over it but moved on somewhat.
I’m not really sure if she has I’ll be honest, E told her that I was going to be contact with him again and he’ll be in our server and there’s nothing you can do about it her response was “I hope he’s changed” with no further elaborating at all and just dropped that(she has a large habit of being really quiet when she’s upset and not elaborating on how she feels fully and just dropping one liners, she’s been doing this since she was 10) another thing E loves to play games and likes to have extremely long sessions when he’s not doing schoolwork or chores and likes to play games like BGS3 A works a lot and has little to no time really to hang out to it with him like how E likes so he’ll find someone else to play longer times with. That’s where I come in because I can fill those longer sessions because I’m just doing schoolwork and not working yet I’ve tried to make it clear that I’m not trying to take away anything they did before with the limited time they had and I told E that i don’t want to interfere with anything you guys got going on(he said nothing should be wrong and I shouldn’t worry about it) but it seems like she’s a little perturbed? She asked E if I started a play though with him and then after he responded with a yes she didn’t respond afterwards.
I honestly have no idea what she’s thinking, she moved on very quickly two months after we broke up said she didn’t want a relationship then got into one 1 month later she’s then got into at least 5 more over the past 3 years that don’t last longer than 3-5 months and just got out of one that didn’t last long either so theoretically she should have moved on being that she got into several other relationships and just kept going getting into new ones. I should have been a thing of the past and just a highschool relationship but she’s acting weird and she really shouldn’t be seeing that it was 4 years ago
Overall I don’t know what to do, I want to talk to her about it and not feel like there’s this crazy tension but I’m thinking it’s also not worth it because what point is there it’s been 4 years since we dated 3 since we talked to each other what exactly are we holding onto and what is making us feel and act weird none of should matter since we’re 4 years older and adults now.

I know the title is weird, I don't know how else to phrase it.
A bit of backstory: My (16F) parents were never married, just in a relationship and my mum ended up pregnant (my dad says it was an accident, I think with a broken condom, but he never went into the details). According to my dad, she seemed uncertain about it at first but agreed that they could raise me together, so they prepared to do that in my dad’s house with a nursery and everything, however, after I was born and they brought me back from the hospital, my biological mother just skipped town and vanished completely leaving my dad and me alone. She left a note, which I have seen, that basically said she only went through with the pregnancy because she could see he really wanted a kid and that she never wanted children and didn’t want to be a family with us. Obviously, my dad told me all of this, at first in a more kid-friendly way, but I got more of the details as I got older, and I know that it broke his heart, he really believed that they were in love and ready to start a family together, even if it had been an accident.
I grew up with just the two of us at first, but when I was about 4, he met my now-stepmother (41F) and they got married when I was 7. She’s the only mother I really remember, and I consider her my mum 100%.
About a year ago, a new kid joined our school, Charlie (16M), and the two of us hit it off really well, I don’t know why but I saw him and just thought he was beautiful and when I got to know him, he’s so sweet and caring, and he loves robotics and machines and wants to be an engineer or mechanic when he’s older. We started dating about 8 months ago, just casual things like going to the movies or walking around the town centre together after school/at the weekend, and I met his dad a few times when he was picked up or dropped off, but not his stepmum – one of the reasons I think we hit it off so well was because we both have stepmums that we consider our actual mother – because she’s always at work until late. Charlie wanted me to meet her, so we agreed that I would go over to his one evening and have a family meal with them. That was supposed to happen about 3 hours ago.
My dad’s out of town at the moment, on a business trip until Friday, so my mum dropped me off and I went into his house, and everything was fine at first until his mum came home and I was introduced to her. You’ve probably worked out where this is going from the title, but it turned out that his stepmum was my biological mum. She hasn’t really changed from the few pictures my dad has, and she kept her surname when she married Charlie’s dad, so it’s definitely her. I just kind of froze and felt kind of disconnected from reality for a few moments, and I know they were talking but I could just hear my heartbeat in my ears, and I started shaking. They noticed I was shaking, and she tried to put her hand on my shoulder to help me sit down or something, but I just couldn't do it and I don’t even know why, but I threw up. Obviously, they thought I was sick and called my mum to come get me, and I started crying at some point, but they thought it was because I’d messed up our evening and kept reassuring me that we could do it another time, but that just made me feel worse.
My mum picked me up and we came home, and I think she knows that I’m not sick and there’s something wrong because she kept asking questions, but I don’t know how to tell her what happened, and I don’t know what I’m gonna tell my dad, because even the mention of my bio-mum upsets him, so I don’t know how he’d react to knowing that she lives in the same area as us now. I’m in my room right now, and I don’t know where else to go or who else to ask, so I just thought I’d try here. I don’t know what to do. I really like Charlie and up until this evening I thought we might be right for each other, but I can’t face her and I don’t know why she’s even his stepmum when she made it very clear to my dad that she never even wanted kids and that’s why she left. I just keep crying and my mum has tried to help but I don’t know how to explain it to her.

 | Some background - Our shower recently leaked, it was found the leak was caused by a very small hairline crack above one of the lower tiles. We know the leak is only new because we installed hybrid floorboards and skirting in the hallway on the other side of the bathroom in May - at the time the slab and exisiting wall and skirting was dry - we noticed water seeping up between the new floorboards 5 months later in October. When the insurer assessor came he couldn’t find the cause. A day later they sent out a plumber who was here for around an hour trying to find the cause because the crack wasn’t noticeable at all. The insurance remediation team came the next day and proceeded to rip up our brand new floorboards in the hallway, as well as cut half of thr gyprock from the wall exposing mould and very very wet framing. Our linen cupboard in the adjoining wall has also been damaged. The remediation team left large fans, a dehumidifier and air purifiers, which we ran non stop for about a week. They also treated the mould - although one month on our house has a strong damp/mould smell and my allergies and asthmas have definitely flared up. Our claim was then denied due “ongoing leak from the shower recess due to the presence of failed waterproofing.” - noting our house was built in 1989 and has the original bathroom, although it looks as though the shower was resealed at some point prior to us purchasing the house in 2022. My question is, is it worth us appealing this claim? I’m worried the mould and water damage is way beyond what they found and is going to cost a fortune to fix, considering they only cut a piece of one wall away and we still have a very unpleasant smell in the house - which is concerning with a 6 month old baby.
