I did a experiment with reducing my stroke from 10 to 5 near the end of my sharpen for edge refinement by doing 10 strokes on each side 4 times for a total of 40 and then finishing with 5 strokes 4 time on each side, leaving me with a edge that doesn't have micro burr on it like before it usually takes longer for that result and on a finer stones outside of my Spyderco medium like Spyderco fine and ultra fine stone.What prompted me to do this is from hearing someone experience with 5 strokes helping them to remove a burr on a lower girt stone for the first time. So is their any basis for certain numbers of strokes being ideal for burr removal or is this just case of not factoring in pressure.

Hi all.
I just wanted to pop in here and share a quick update as a few people have been asking. If you’ve been following my journey, you might know most of this already, but for those who don’t, here’s a brief recap--
In December 2023, I was diagnosed with BFS/FND at the Mayo Clinic after dealing with an extended period of weakness, difficulty walking, and muscle fasciculations that worsened after donating blood and passing out. It was a scary time. I had no clear answers, and different doctors had conflicting opinions—some attributing it to anxiety, while others were much more concerned. I underwent countless tests, including three EMGs, all of which came back unremarkable. That’s the nature of FND—it’s a functional issue with the nervous system rather than a structural abnormality, making it hard to detect and diagnose with current medical tools. On top of that, a lot of neurologists are not even familiar with the condition.
Fast forward a year, and while I’m still dealing with these challenges, including the twitching and weakness, the symptoms have become less consistent. For instance, I can now walk short distances and do steps (albeit awkwardly and slowly), but I struggle more in sensory-heavy environments like crowded grocery stores. Realizing that my symptoms varied—and finally having a diagnosis that made sense was a huge turning point. It helped me move past much of the fear and focus on working toward improvement.
I want to emphasize that from my perspective FND/BFS is not “just anxiety,” as some doctors suggest. It’s a very real physical condition originating deep in the brain that science doesn’t yet have the tools to fully measure or understand. It almost feels like being deeply afraid physically (like if you were frozen stiff) without the associated mental or emotional feeling of feapanic associated -- a completely and chronically dysregulated flight/fight system.
That said, my journey has had its ups and downs. In May, I started experiencing PNES seizures—sometimes up to 30 a day. Interestingly, these episodes seem to be preceded by increased twitching, which acts almost like an “aura.” My legs get painfully tight and start twitching or jerking right before a seizure, almost as if it’s startling my brain into overdrive. I lost my ability to drive which has been a significant adjustment but I’m still relieved to know that this isn’t a terminal illness.
My focus now is on maintaining a healthy lifestyle: eating well, staying active, prioritizing good sleep, taking meds/vitamins, and managing stress as best I can.
If you’re in a similar situation, my biggest advice is to find a doctor you trust and that trusts you—someone who listens, acknowledges uncertainty, and doesn’t dismiss your concerns. There’s so much about the human body that we don't fully understand yet and having a supportive medical team really makes all the difference in getting better.

Hey guys
so the title says it all.
I’m getting the sense that the majority newsletter readers are based in US and the rest are like in Europe, Central Europe, Asia etc.
If this is you, what time do you schedule your newsletter to go out?
I have been scheduling it for 10am UK time. But i realized the majority are in US, so that means they my email at 5am ish (New York time). Which means my open rate could be much higher if I tailored more to US time zones.
Should i change my time schedule? What do you guys do?
I’m thinking of sending out emails at 2pm UK time to accommodate US readers

2024.11.28 13:53 God_Given_Talent Russia defending Mexico has got to be one of the more annoying quirks of the game.
Returning after the recent updates and I thought I'd enjoy a nice US playthrough to get back into things and see what changed. Then I remember that for some reason, Russia is willing to join the Mexican-American War...
Just...why? Oh they feel "protective" do they? Surely they'd send tens of thousands of troops across the ocean to a conflict they have little interest in. Argubaly they should want the US to win and become more powerful as they'd then have border disputes with the British to press and Russia is rivaled with the British.
I get it, the game can't account for everything, but especially close to the start date some things in the game just annoy the crap out of me...

My character is currently stuck at the end of the world. I spawned in and my body glitched into the under world but the game also teleported me to the “end of the world”. Character is alive but can’t move and in the middle of no where seemingly under the map. Waited until character died and turned on drop nothing, but when I spawn back in I’m in the exact same location. Playing on Xbox X. Please help starting the game over at this point would be horrible.

2024.11.28 13:53 Ok-Sunny-Days Who has had a chemical pregnancy of a PGT-A tested embryo?
I'm 10 dpt and my faint positives have turned almost all the way back to negative. Has anyone else had (or is currently having) a chemical?
My RE gave this embryo an 80% chance of resulting in a live birth. We did PGT-A testing and have done a pretty comprehensive carrier screening (that is clear). This medicated FET cycle was pretty light, mostly I was on leuprolide before transfer, and estradiol and progesterone (PIO and endonetrin tabs) before and after the transfer.
Wondering who else is in a similar boat? Or who has been in the past and what you're RE found, or how your protocol changed.
We have secondary infertility with no other diagnosis. For our recent spontaneous pregnancies we've had 1 detected chemical, 2 missed miscarriages in the first trimester, and 1 high risk twin pregnancy where one vanished early and the other had complex congenital heart issues. Those losses are all mostly random.

I’m getting a few orders a day and I’m using Aliexpress for my order fulfilment. Funnily enough, I can get the product for near enough the same price on Amazon with next day delivery but then the customers would often receive the product early and get suspicious, plus it’ll be in Amazon packaging even if ship in Amazon packaging isn’t selected. Plus the order may contain an invoice (has in the past) and that will mess me up…
Maybe I need to find a private Amazon seller, not one that’s doing Amazon FBA. So they’ll have more control over the order fulfilment.
I just need a seller that ships via USPS so that my customers can also track the order. Any ideas?

Beautiful Crazy Horse leather (presumably from Lefarq tannery), half leather outsole, leather heelstack and midsole (had a Eva insole and it has a fiberboard beneath) and at a third of the price of a blacksmith. Of course, leather isn't as thick nor materials are equal, but I can't get RW in Mexico at fair prices. Put in a vegtan insole and it's conforming to my feet and I'm a happy camper.
