I am tried of relying on my family for financial support, especially after getting hired. I work as an insurance agent in Toronto for a small office under one of the most renowned insurance companies. My pay structure includes a base salary, commissions, and bonuses. I understand that I've only been in this role for short time and need more time to learn, adapt and build relationships with clients. However, during the probation period, I don't earn commissions for my first 15 quotes.
With a base pay of only $2,500 a month, there's nothing left after covering rent, utilities, TTC and groceries. I can't even afford Royal Canin's cat food for my cat. This has left me feeling incredibly stressed about constantly needing financial help from my parents. At this point, I am doubting whether this is the right career path for me. What do you guys think? My manager told me that I can roughly make $40 ~$45k a year, but I am not sure.

We have been struggling to stay productive in this notification-driven world, where distractions are plentiful. That's why we developed an app called Blitzit, which helps people stay focused and complete their tasks.
Our vision was clear: keep it simple, straightforward, and easy to use! And we saw 30% improvement in production overall.
So, to recap I've shared our journey crossing $400 MRR, and $600 MRR.
Now, we crossed $800 MRR with Blitzit and aiming for $1000 MRR by the end of this year.
It’s been a wild ride, but we’re learning a lot.
Churn hit us hard for a few reasons:
- No mobile app (yet).
- Missing integrations (like ClickUp).
- Security warnings on Windows.
- No web payments available.
- Reassured users that mobile app & more are integrations coming.
- Fixed bugs, digitally signed the app, & removed those warnings.
- Added web payments to boost conversions.
- Ran targeted ads, email campaigns, and influencer collabs.
Next up: our mobile app launch.
PS. We also crossed our last year revenue goal via Product Hunt launch in just a week this year.

 | I am planning on going to spectate the Stuttgart Regional Championships, and was hoping to take part in some side events, but I’ve never played competitively and have actually only ever finished playing Pokemon Shield, so I’m scrambling to get far enough along in Violet to be able to build a team and participate this weekend. So far all I have is this Rillaboom (currently in Shield, to be transferred via Home to Violet). I’d prefer to have Grassy Glide on it and maybe High Horsepower, but I don’t have the Sw/Sh DLCs to get Grassy Glide and I don’t have the High Horsepower TR in Shield. I’m just starting out in Violet, so I thought the quickest way to build a team would be via Shield where I’ve beaten the game. I don’t have the DLCs for Scarlet/Violet either. I’d appreciate any help/suggestions, as I only have roughly 30ish hours to throw something together.  | I’m doing some analysis on reddit data and looked at the most recommended dash cams in the past year. Thought I’d share the results here. Its part of a side project of mine to play with Reddit data and LLMs. The goal was to create something useful for the community while learning and improving my development skills. Hopefully it’ll be helpful / interesting to some. The idea is that it can paint a picture of which are the most well reviewed ones, which can be a useful data point for someone trying to make sense of the massive amount of fragmented information out there. Methodology: For extraction and sentiment analysis, I used the Reddit API to scour reddit for discussions on dash cams across all subreddits (limited to threads within one year for freshness). I sampled 276 relevant threads and used LLMs to analyze, extract, and categorize opinions from the comments. I also extracted info about the dash cams being referred to and used that info to lookup the models on Amazon. Unfortunately for now the list only shows models available on Amazon (for simplicity’s sake). For ranking, I calculated the normalized difference and ratio between the no. of positive and negative user sentiments, and used that to determine the final score for ranking. Caveat: Handling and merging different descriptions, model numbers, abbreviations etc, and associating them with the right variation is non trivial, so its not 100% accurate. Ive build a few PC`s in the past but busy life etc i decided to get PC Specialist to build my current one and in fairness the build quality is top class but i seem to be an old BIOS version for my ASUS PRIME X670-P-CSM motherboard.
There seems to be no less than 11 new BIOS releases since then so it got me thinking if i should update?
I do recall the doing so with PCS builds can void your warranty if anything goes wrong.
