1) This year, they made it so that if you join an academic contest, you can no longer be reimbursed. Instead they want to send the transaction directly, pero if the hosting party is a student organization, literally not possible.
2) Parking tickets can only be bought from the FD, and in cash ONLY.
3) The increased student org budget for orgs has been delayed AGAIN (11 SEMS STRAIGHT LETS GOOOO BABY)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today is day 25 for me.
I am taking a moment to acknowledge that today is going to be tough. I have to drive 5 hours today. I have to go to the small rural town I grew up in, which is a place where I don't like the politics, and I have strong memories of a rough childhood. I have to see my family, which is a huge family, but I only talk to about 1/3rd of them. Also, I'm going to eat a ton of food and get a belly ache, but can't resolve it by numbing my guts with weed.
I'm also going to take a moment to plan my sobriety. I can't buy anything here because it's Thanksgiving, and I can't buy anything in the rural town because there's nothing available. It's a good thing this Thanksgiving lunch is also a sober one in a church, as the family follows in my grandfather's footsteps of abstaining from substances, and I don't think the Baptists would appreciate lighting up in the church parking lot. I've done the steps of throwing away my supply and paraphernalia at home, so I don't have access when I return.
I am making peace with the fact that I can't go back on my sobriety by slipping into old habits, because it likely won't be possible today. I am also abstaining from everything else today because it might threaten my sobriety in general.
Today's biggest fear is that I'll buy a pack of cigarettes to cope.
