I stepped right in the middle of my three month old kitten. She must have been lying on her side and I stepped down with my full weight on her mid section. Took her to the emergency vet. They took vitals and said she seems okay. I’m worried because when I got her home, she hisses at her playmate if he comes near. I just gave her some food because it’s way past her meal time. She took two bites. Usually she’s ravenous and plays nonstop. Right now all she wants to do is lay in her snuggle be. I’m worried about internal injuries.

Before and after Before I was in a pretty unhealthy relationship that unfortunately turned out quite toxic. I was drinking heavily, addicted to caffeine and nicotine. Long story short, I wasn’t being treated very well. My mental health was in the worst state It had ever been in. Breaking up with her was probably the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but if I stayed it would have destroyed me. It’s only been a little under a month and I’ve been feeling quite good and taking care of myself. My mental health issues are pretty much under control now I still have rough days but I’m happy and I’m never gonna give up. Im getting back to enjoying life!

I’ve just ended an unhealthy 4 year relationship. It’s been amicable but it would almost be easier if we hated on another…
Before that I had another relationship that was a decade long. I’m finding that it’s good to be solo and healthy but I can’t help feeling devastatingly lonely…
I’m in my mid 30’s and most of my friends are married and have little kids. I can’t help but feel like a failure and very alone.
Luckily I have family and friends but so many people are busy with their own lives. Does the loneliness ever go away? I feel very lost… just looking to hear others stories and experiences.
Especially around the holidays…

Looking to repair an old Bullet I recently had a lot of success replacing my Squier Strat's electronics using an inexpensive prefab pick guard setup that I got from Amazon. The process was relatively straightforward and not very complex.
My dad has an old Squier Bullet that he'd like to do the same thing to, since it has almost the same problems that my Strat did (shorts in the sound, dead spots in the selector switch). We thought it would be a pretty trivial matter since the guitar is so similar to a Stratocaster. After closer examination, we learned that there are several significant differences that present issues for a simple pick guard swap.
I guess what I'm wanting to ask is what the easiest, least complicated way to repaiupgrade the guitar might be. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm including pics of the guitar if it helps at all.

2024.11.28 21:40 Head_Equipment_1952 Why does advice or career aspirations in general lean to the extreme on this subreddit?

I often hear people discussing their lofty career goals and feeling like failures for not achieving them. For example, I’ve seen many with a 3.0 GPA from a non-target school aspiring to break into investment banking (IB) or private equity (PE). Maybe it's just Toronto, but as someone with that background, I can tell you that nearly every finance graduate is in the same boat. With that profile, breaking into even the Big 4 or Big 10 is extremely difficult—you’d be lucky to land a role at a small accounting firm or as a retail personal banker. I had a coffee chat with this person this week and he was telling me a profile of a candidate who went to a York semi - target for finance and also had FA position at a F500 and begging for a teller role.
On the flip side, some advice shared online feels equally unrealistic. I remember seeing a post from a fellow Toronto graduate struggling to find work with a low GPA. A few people suggested pursuing a Master's in Finance at Rotman or Ivey with a high GMAT score. While I’m sure the advice was well-intentioned, it seems disconnected from reality. How can someone with poor grades, no job experience, and limited academic references realistically achieve a high GMAT score or secure a spot in such a competitive program? Also, have you LOOKED at the people incoming at U of T Masters?
Like, why not have "decent" aspirations such CPA, or CFP or even just working your way up in these 1000s of other roles that take people without much experience. Just to be clear, even getting these "decent" careers take tons of work. They also make very stable income.
