As a lifelong fan of BattleTech/MechWarrior, I'm not sure why I've never played the MW games. I'm going to pick MW5: Mercenaries up on this Steam sale and fix this oversight. I then saw that the game has a co-op mode and I really like the idea of playing through the campaign with my brother but my initial feelers have determined that coop in this game is a bit uh.. 'particular'.
My searching on this sub has informed me that mods will make this experience a lot better. I see 'YAML' and 'Co-op Unlocked' mentioned in many of the threads I dug through, and also general sentiments that "Mods make this game better". So I figured I'd just make a new post and draw on the knowledge and experience of the players to h
What I Am Asking For:
- Preferred/"Best" mods for defuckifying the finnicky vanilla co-op experience and giving player 2 some more agency in the experience.
- Is this just one main mod like YAML or Co-op Unlocked? Or are there multiple to get that work in tandem etc?
- Other "Must Have" mods, or ones you find particularly nice to have for the game in general.
- Any general advice, things to know, issues to account for etc. For instance I heard Co-op can't even be done until players make a bit of progress into the campaign?

I (M30) was talking to and hanging out with someone (F34) that I was interested in recently. We met one night at a bacasual hangout place. When she was leaving for the night, she approached me and asked if we could exchange phone numbers. I agreed and after that we just started texting. The conversations were amazing and flowed smoothly as we got to know each other more and more.
One afternoon, we decided to meet up and hang out for a few hours. We had a great time, as we continued to learn more about each other. As we walked to the parking lot, she gave me this huge embrace and got very close to my face. I thought she was going to kiss me, but we just hugged for a few more seconds and she kissed me on the cheek. She texted me when she got home and our conversations continued very nicely. We ended up scheduling three more separate dates in the near future.
More time went on and I told her that I had feelings for her. She said that she felt the same way about me. I told her that I would like for us to be boyfriend and girlfriend and she said she would like that too. She said that we should take our time getting to know each other and that she can see me as a fantastic boyfriend. I completely agreed with her.
Shortly after, she told me something that came out of nowhere. She said that the #1 priority in a relationship to her is sexual compatibility. Let's just say that I am not the most experienced person when it comes to sex and I told her this. She said that this does not change her perspective of me but she wanted me to tell her all of the things that I have ever done with a woman. This was so uncomfortable to me, but I ended up telling her. She thanked me for telling her and she essentially told me she has done just about everything sexually. She did admit to me that she went through a divorce three years ago after saying that she hasn't had a boyfriend for three years earlier that same day.
The next morning, she texted me and said that she does not want to pursue a relationship with me, as she cancelled all of our plans together. She said that we would not be a good fit because she has an extremely high libido and that is the only aspect of her life that she cannot meet by herself. She said that she is content with everything else in her life except for this. I told her that she has absolutely broken my heart because we had so much in common and I felt a genuine romantic connection between us. She apologized for causing me so much pain.
We had plans to hang out later that evening and I insisted that we still meet up and just have an honest face-to-face conversation together. She said no because it was her mother's birthday, which was a complete lie. I told her that it was nice getting to know her and that I may see her at the bar that we met at sometime. She said she hopes to see me there again sometime. I deleted her number and our texts off my phone and removed her from my social media.
A few hours after this, she texted me "I hope you had a nice day today." This made me so angry because she had made me so upset earlier that day and I made it abundantly clear to her how hurt I was. She should have known that I did not have a nice day. I just ignored this text and tried to get my mind off of her.
I am not going to lie, my confidence took a major blow because of this. I met this woman and I could feel the chemistry from day one. We had so much in common and we got along so well. But she was willing to disregard everything else that she liked about me and opt out of the relationship because I did not meet her expectations sexually. The most intimate thing we did was give each other hugs and a kiss on my cheek.
I am still really shocked and hurt by this. I feel like she did not give me a chance at all. Maybe meeting her sexual expectations is something that we could have gradually worked on together. Or did I dodge a major bullet by not having a relationship with this woman?

I had a redo root canal to treat an older failed root canal with a little halo around the root tip. The dentist was pretty aggressive with getting in there to remove the old filler. I'm noticing the gum looks a bit angry, red, and irritated. The jaw also feels a bit tender from underneath where the tooth is. Is it normal for the gum line / jaw to be like this after a root canal? I don't really remember my first root canal 20 years ago. Thanks in advance. 🙏🙏🙏
