I’m posting this for my girlfriend, Kim (35F), to get an outside perspective on her situation with her brother, Rob (32), and his girlfriend, Chyna (late 40s). We've been fairly close as a family—hanging out often, working together, and sharing family functions. Kim has two brothers, Rob and Brody (26), and things have started to get tense lately due to Rob’s relationship with Chyna, so I’m here to explain what happened and ask for opinions.
Kim’s brother Brody met Chyna at work, and while it started with them hanging out because they both enjoyed smoking weed, Rob got involved too. Rob had initially told Brody to avoid Chyna due to some concerns, but then Rob started spending a lot of time with her himself. Kim and I were concerned because we didn’t know much about her, but Rob assured us it wasn’t serious. However, over time, Chyna began showing up at family events, bringing her kids (ages 18-27), and starting to integrate herself more into the family.
Kim, being a protective older sister, didn’t approve of the relationship. She believed Rob, who is a genuinely nice and easy-going person, deserved better. She thought Chyna was bringing him down because all they did was eat, smoke weed, and not focus on their health. At this point, Chyna started staying at Rob’s mom’s house all the time, even though she had her own house. Kim felt it was strange, and her mom also complained about it.
The tension increased, but the family still tried to be cordial at gatherings. Then, after an accident, Chyna had to go on medical leave from work, which seemed to cause her to stay at Rob’s mom’s place even more often. Kim wasn’t happy about it, especially since Chyna had a house and kids of her own. The whole situation felt odd, and Kim didn’t think it was healthy for Rob.
After months of this building tension, Kim finally snapped at a family birthday celebration. She told Chyna she wasn’t a fan of her and she was dragging him down. Kim said what everyone else was too scared to say, and it caused a major fallout. Since then, Kim and Rob have barely spoken, except for a brief argument during my fantasy football draft. It’s been about five months since.
Kim has since decided to go NC with Rob and won’t attend any family events where Chyna is present. The rest of the family tolerates Chyna for Rob’s sake, but they all know Kim doesn’t like her. Kim still gets complaints and she doesn’t want to keep pretending to get along for the sake of family unity. She’s tired of the situation and doesn’t want to deal with it anymore.
The family thinks Kim should just accept the relationship and be cordial, but she refuses. She feels Chyna is bad for Rob and doesn’t want to see him lower himself for her. Kim feels like she has to choose between her brother and her own mental health, and she’s chosen to step away.
Is Kim in the wrong for going low or no-contact with Rob over his relationship with Chyna?

But everything tied up elsewhere, what happens to that stuff? Does it go to shareholders? Can they leave that stuff to whoever they want as they can personal assets? Does it go back to the company itself, with the next person in chain of command taking over as CEO or whatever?
