It’s been four years today since I was diagnosed with Cirrhosis and quit drinking and smoking. Never thought I would make it this far. Thanks to TIPS being done almost two years now it was a major change for the better for me.

Hi, I'm just wondering how long you have to wait to hear back if you move on to the interview stage. I applied to a position within MCFD and made it to the section where they give you a couple of days to answer questions. Its now been over a week since the submission and I'm not too sure how long it takes to find out if you did or did not make it to the interview portions. Any thoughts? Thanks 😊

Sometimes it feels like I’m writing my last note. This is one of those times. My fiancé is fast asleep in the other room and I’m just sitting here drinking. I never realized how much I need alcohol until recent. Today for thanksgiving I’ve carried a flask with me(filled with vodka) and drank some Jameson. I snapped on my fiancé today about problems that I keep pent up. I don’t want to but I can’t help it. I’m not a suicidal person, however I’m certainly not doing anything to prevent it. Since a young age I’ve had problems, the biggest in my opinion being intrusive thoughts. I can’t help it. I don’t know what causes them but I am constantly imagining the worst. I’ve been to therapy before. It’s probably been 10 years since that. I’ve been in the service for over 7 years. I was quickly pushed into leadership roles which of course adds stress but I can deal with it. Or at least I think that lol maybe I can’t. I constantly deny it but I am riddled with PTSD and mental problems from the service. For a year straight I woke up screaming and sweating in the middle of the night(probably been 2 years since). I don’t know what I plan on getting from posting this. Maybe someone who can just relate to me. I just need someone to understand what it’s like. The other day I tried to quit drinking and I couldn’t. I crawled out of bed in the middle of the night to get a drink. Now understand drinking has never affected my job. Sure I’ve come to the station in the middle of the night and crashed on the couch but none of the drinking on the job shit. Lately my drunken thoughts have been that if I can eventually kick the booze that I’d like to be a substance abuse counselor. Idk it was just a dumb thought I had. I lost my father to drinking and since I abuse it as well I figured it’d be nice to come full circle and help people that struggle like myself. I know that this post has nothing to do with firefighting, however I know I’m not the only one who struggles. I have a problem and I am no longer afraid to admit that. Please someone help me.

 | Hello! I'm looking for advice on whether you think this will work. Currently layout is a peninsula between kitchen and breakfast nook. We want to combine into one larger space and add pantry space as there is currently none. Room measurements are 208x125". We are thinking of a 94" L x 36" W island. The placement will be 44" from the cabinets on the Fridge side, 40" from the cabinets on the Oven/Range side, and 46" from the sliding doors. Do you think this will work? The sink is currently about 8 inches from the end of the island. I know this isn't ideal, but if it's on the centre, there is less continuous prep space and one of the chairs will be only 1 ft away from the sink. We may not use the seating much for 4 though, thinking likely just the 2 kids will use it and we all will eat in the dining room for main meals. Open to all ideas and discussion! 2024.11.29 03:50 Free-Internet-4499 Could there be a reason I’m so incredibly clumsy?
This might be a ridiculous question, but it’s gotten much much worse over the last year or so. Enough that people around me have noticed. I (26F) have always been relatively clumsy I think, often tripping over nothing, dropping EVERYTHING, knocking stuff over, losing my grip on items and even sometimes accidentally throwing things? I am diagnosed with ADHD and have been taking vyvanse for 2 years, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I also have hypothyroidism and PCOS, but I doubt there’s any correlation. Today I even fell down the stairs after slipping on nothing (which happens often) and ended up hurting myself and losing consciousness for an unknown period of time. It seems to be getting worse, but it’s not really a traceable thing so maybe it’s just something I’m noticing more because I’m thinking about it? I just want to know if there could be an actual reason for this or if it’s just me being clumsy and poorly coordinated or something. Thanks in advance for any insight!

Just recently picked up an aoc qd oled off of amazon and had one slight issue with it. When it notifies me that it needs to do the 4 hour annual pixel cleaning it shows up in a big box with a yes or no option stating it can take up to 10 minutes. Now this wouldn’t be a problem if I was watching YouTube or doing some homework but when I’m in an online game that can take some time to get over with, I’m stuck with a big box on my screen or clicking no and missing out on the cleaning. Anyone have any tips or maybe I’m missing something? There is no option to postpone the cleaning or have it start within a certain time frame.

Just got back from a trip to SYD. So I landed at Sydney airport as I walked through the exit at the tip of my feet was an elevator taking me down to the underground station where a train was waiting to take me into the city. I could tap on with my credit card and 15 minutes later I was in the city centre connecting onto a driverless high speed metro train to the north. Both trains were smooth, clean and somewhat faster than back home.
Came back to Melbourne. Had to pay $25 for a 1 way ticket on a Skybus. Had to wait 20 minutes for a Skybus which then took approx 40 mins to even get to the city due to traffic. Connected at southern cross where the train was delayed due to trespassing (it happens)
Didn't realise how important an underground airport station was until visiting Sydney last week. All the terminals were connected through underground passageways and I didn't have to step outside at all once! Fella at the station said theyre building a high speed underground metro to the new airport in 2026 and couldn't help but think Damn we need this in Melbourne !
Thoughts?

I applied LTVP and PR for my wife and citizenship for my daughter as one combined submission. I wrote in to expedite the process and was informed that the release of the outcome would be dependent on whichever is the longer one and that it might take up to 6 months. I would like to ask if it is advisable to withdraw my wife's application in the hope that it will speed up my daughter's? I am missing out on significant milestones in my daughter's life. She is growing fast and I feel that she is not recognising me anymore. Many thanks!

What are the legalities with an entity withholding mail from the intended recipient? I see it as an offence (delay) in the Canada Post Corporation Act and not able to locate if strike would be an action that would be not considered an offence.
