2024.11.29 04:40 Beastious Realized short-term gains tax question. I am so confused.
Hello, I started a fun taxable brokerage this year to play with a small amount of my portfolio. I have done a ton of trading the last 3 months. Buying and selling the same stock multiple times in a day, etc.
Fortunately, I am up around $8000. I know I have triggered wash sales as I have sold some stocks for a loss and then bought that same stock and made profits all within the same day. I'm learning a ton.
I've probably done 50 trades or more on 9-10 stocks and $8000 has been realized short term gains.
Can I just assume I pay my income bracket on the $8000 for taxes and that's it?
I was going to move all my realized gains to my bank account so when tax time comes I'll pay whatever I owe on that.
I'm so confused. Idk if this post even makes sense. Thanks for any help.

I've had this idea for a very long time despite me not knowing to code or anything to do with game making so I'm putting this here so that someone might be inspired to create this game for others in the future:
Imagine a fighting game in the style of a platform fighter or Marvel Vs Capcom where different internet series battle it out against each other. The story mode will be similar to Subspace Emisssary from Smash Bros. Brawl but the theme will be about huge conglomerates turning the web into a hallow shell of its former self and how the internet is progressively becoming more restricted thanks to suits in high positions of power that just want to make money.
There will be representatives from all corners of the internet throughout time such as;
Newgrounds reps: Pico, Nene, Darnell, and Cassandra (Pico's School)
Boyfriend and Girlfriend as a tag team similar to Ice Climbers (Friday Niht Funkin')
Zonetan (Zonetan Tv)

Meat Boy (Super Meat Boy)
Edd, Tord, Tom, and Matt (Eddsworld)

Some of the stages will change form throughout the fight duration but this can be turned off in the settings similar to Smash Bros Ultimate.
Tournament Mode: This will be a classic mode of sorts where you'll fight different enemies as you progress through it to get to the individual character's endings. However, there will be the addition of "Rivals" similar to PlayStation All-Stars like:

BF and GF Vs Sonic.EXE or Mario.EXE (As small references to Mario's Madness and or the various Sonic.EXE mods depending on which one is chosen to be the rival)

Gameplay: The gameplay will either be a platform fighter similar to Smash Bros or be more similar to Marvel Vs Capcom 3 where characters can switch places and there can only be one on one fights. Either way would fit perfectly with this game.
There would be special attacks that are references to where these characters come from such as:
Cassandra transforming into her alien form and becoming more powerful
The Anon going to his computer and telling others to doxx his enemies which gives out a lot of damage as other anons begin to charge at the opponents on stage
Zonetan going eldritch on her opponents and using her tentacles to squeeze the life out of her enemies
Tord calling upon his giant robot to blast missles at the opponents
Stolas transforming into his eldritch form and attacking with a flurry of attacks
Etc.
I'm thinking about also including some possible assists such as in J-Stars Victory Vs+ to include even more representation from characters who didn't make the full cut to become playable.
Overall UI: I'm thinking of having the UI interface be similar to Smash Bros Brawl but make it more stylized somehow.
The Intro Movie: I envision an intro movie playing before you boot up the game proper. I imagine it as a combination of these three openings to really get people hyped for the game they're about to play, the characters would all interact with each other in unique and interesting ways that fit in with their personalities and properties:

I know what you're all thinking, this type of game is impossible to make. Well, possibly. The reason for that is because some of the owners of the characters in question might not want it to be in a game with things like 4Chan and Creepypasta within it which is perfectly fine and understandable. But, I do want this game to be made in someway. This is a really good idea and the amount of fun that people could have with this type of game is exponentially high considering the fact that a lot of these characters are people's childhoods like Pico or Slenderman for instance. I want this to be a celebration of different media across the internet and I understand that this type of game will take an extremely long time to create especially considering how many characters you'll have to get permission to use. But in my eyes, it'll give all worth it to create a truly iconic fighting game.

2024.11.29 04:40 SooFloBro Extreme CPU overheating in H1 ITX build after changing my graphics card
I changed my graphics card and all of the sudden my CPU is now idling at 105 C. In BIOS it says the AIO cooler's pump is running at full speed and the fans are working just fine. I tried running it with the case completely open and could feel the outside of water block getting warm, but the radiator was cold so I assume there is some kind of blockage in the tubes preventing water flow. Any tips for fixing this? And how could this happen just by changing out a graphics card?
