I was with my ex for 7 years roughly. We had 3 kids together over the time and she had one from a previous relationship. When we got together she was on single parenting and the father was not involved. She got pregnant with me within the year and didn’t want to change to partnered because she said her baby daddy was dodging child support by doing cash in hand work which affected her payments.
I tried to convince her to change over constantly and she would always say at the end of the year but it never happened even after another 2 kids.
I worked in a job where I was able to pick up extra shifts and the difference would have been one more shift a fortnight to cover the difference between single parenting and partnered payment. My ex kept refusing and would say that she didn’t have kids to be the full time parent.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago and she kicked me out after some fights and started seeing a drug dealer and bringing him around my kids. I was left with about $8000 in debt, my clothes and computer while she had a full house of everything I worked hard to provide. Receipts for everything were also all in her name so there was no point trying to fight it.
I sunk into a deep depression knowing a drug dealer was raising my kids more than I was and reported my ex to Centrelink for fraud. Just wondering how likely it is for them to actually investigate and the likely outcome? I didn’t think through but I was pretty specific with multiple old addresses, schools, daycare etc.
My ex hasn’t worked in 10 years and has full custody of her oldest. I work full time and am meant to have 2 days a week and am living with family where my ex has now said it’s not suitable for 3 kids to stay and has withheld them until she gets around to booking mediation.
Will we get slapped with a debt or is she likely to go to jail even though she has full custody of her oldest? I assume she will get taken off Centrelink and have to get a job to pay off the debt.

It’s not a question of if but how to, recently I downloaded a file from a new friend thinking I could trust him turns out it was a virus he did which I’d assume is quite foolish reveal and video stream it on discord showing him launching XLoader / Xworm to access my computer a couple days after I downloaded the file. Prior to the reveal I did notice decreased performance even when idling, strange periodic error pop ups as if a script is being run and it saying it can’t find the correct file, and also my anti virus Norton will periodically pop up saying a file in system32 is trying to perform a task that classifies as malicious or unusual behaviour and whenever I boot up my pc cmd opens but doesn’t type or auto close and I’ll close it for it to just reopen and then finally closed a second time.
So far I’ve booted my pc into safe mode, ran my antivirus on a full system scan and cleaned whatever it detected, ran NPE (the aggressive scan) and I’m still getting those last handful of symptoms which makes me believe there is a miner virus on my computer
I plan on reformatting and wiping my drives (3-5 passes), doing a clean install of windows, flashing/updating bios
Will that get rid of the virus(es) or should I take it to a shop

I (35m) have been with my partner (36f) for 8 years now, we live together, our relationship is quite harmonious. She's western European, I'm eastern European, we live in a third country, there is quite a cultural difference which is mostly bridged by me being "westernized" and acting how is exptected here.
I have a small family- Mother, Grandpa, me, that's it. The two of the are back in the home country. There's no one else. My GF went with me to visit them a few times but found the language barrier to be exclusive and cultural differences to be overwhelning so she stopped going years ago, which is fine. Everyone down always pressures me a bit with "Where's your woman?" when I fly down there alone but that's fine.
Anyhow, now my grandpa's had a stroke and he won't make it in the next few days. I planned to fly to his funeral alone (since my GF told me she doesn't like them and they stress her out) and then fly back after a few days. However, in the third week of december I have a week off from work. We had booked a vacation (nothing fancy), and now I've decided I won't go to the vacation but will instead fly to my mother to spend a week with her and support her.
I asked my GF to come along because she would be an enormous help to me, but she doesn't want to. She wants to fly alone in the booked vacation because she's "overwhelmed by the language barrier and would have nothing to do there the entire time". I accepted that and didn't bug her any more about it.
However after that, she's now created this weird atmosphere, where she's cold, like not that we're arguing, but she's cool and distanced and has teary eyes herself and will avoid small acts of physical contact, sighs, will be quiet for long stretched of time etc.
I'm really angry at her for not only not coming to support me one of the two times in life I'll need it from her (the death of the two remaining members of my family) but also adding an aditional layer of difficulty for me by being weird at home.
AITA for expecting her to go there with me and being angry at her now?

2024.11.29 05:30 Maxachaka Editing files on Final Cut Pro 11 on my server is slow and sluggish due to something with the server
Hey y'all, I wanted to start editing videos from my unraid server rather than my laptop (16" M1 Max Macbook). I have it all set up for 2.5Gbps internet (and it does go 2.5gbps, I have tested it), but when I edit off of the server, it is laggy, slow, and has horrible performance. Its all being edited off of the ssd cache on the server (Samsung 870 QVO 1TB SSD).
For what I could find, 2.5gbps should be more than enough for editing 1080p60fps files off of it. However, it is preforming horribly. The ssd is not the issue nor is the laptop from my testing, so its something with the server I think. Any help would be appreciated.
I am trying to figure out what is causing it and I am hoping to try to be able to edit off of my server in the future. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.
