I dimly recall a commercial that I saw as a child around 50 years ago. I believe it took place in a light house. The sole lighthouse keeper was sitting at a table making a sandwich. He hears some noises from above him and leaves his sandwich behind to go up the stairs to investigate. That segwayed into the product pitch, it might have been mayonnaise, then things return to the lighthouse keeper returning to his sandwich to find that a bite had been taken out of it and there might have been a sinister disembodied laugh heard before the commercial ended. That ring any bells for anyone?

Idk where else to ask for advice but i dont want to be rude or come off as ignorant but idk who to ask. But i have a cousin who i hang out with almost everyday and his siblings, we’re all in our early 20’s. Anyways, hes the most difficult person to read hes rarely ever loud and hes very socially awkward. He avoids any social contact or fun unless forced to do so with A LOT OF CONVINCING. He avoids eye contact and hes very PRIVATE and even after spending hours with him daily for years i feel i barely scratched the surface when knowing what he thinks about.
He never makes plans or if you travel or move he’ll never call and if u call him he most likely wont answer (multiple family members said this)
He seems to have selective hearing and isnt bothered with loud environments or settings. Hes always on his phone and loves sugary drinks and smoking cigs all day. Hes been unemployed for 4 years and doesnt seem to care (at least outwardly)
We do have times where me and him get into hours long convos about politics but as soon as someone else joins in he stops talking.
Idk much about people with autism or ranging or the spectrum but i always thought he was lazy or weird but now im thinking maybe he’s on the spectrum idk. His own family members have tried over and over to get him to get on with his life but hes always stagnant and avoids them. Ive met thousands of people in my life and ive NEVER met someone so hard to read or learn about no matter how long i sit with him.
I always initiate the conversation because if i dont we’ll sit there for hours with no talking. He just watches youtube vids abt politics over and over or listen to music and tune us out
Talking to him or getting him to do something feels like pulling teeth. Whenever asked a question, he’ll just repeat with “what?” Or repeat the question someone asked to stall and not even respond.
I have another cousin who is autistic but like you can visibly tell he’s “different” but this one seems normal outwardly but very hard to read.
I thought maybe hes just an introvert and so am i, but i at least like to have fun and go out from time to time. Hes been stuck at home for 4 years and never leaves the house. I go to him and his siblings all the time. I tried to take him to get his blood drawn and figure out he’s deficient in something, and he wont go.
Could he be autistic lol? Idk i dont mean to be rude, but help me out cuz his mom says he’ll listen to me and not his brothers

I’ve been playing Road to CFB Playoff a lot lately and would consider myself slightly above average. I mainly play as the Miami Hurricanes, and I’m pretty solid with them overall. However, when I reach the All-American Conference level, I often get destroyed or lose due to some bad luck. Against Tier 2 opponents, my losses are usually close, but when I face teams like Alabama or Oregon, I get completely overwhelmed. Do any of you have strategies or tips that could help me start beating these top-tier teams? I’m hoping the solution isn’t just to switch to a Tier 1 team.

i remember reading this in elementary school but unfortunately dont have all the details straight. i think the cover looked like a whirlpool or hurricane with a house getting sucked in. the protagonist was a young girl, and she had a baby sibling or cousin or something who was named Peach. she ends up saving the baby from this storm by the end of the book. i also remember a scene where she sees her great great grandma who was definitely over 110 yrs old so maybe some fantasy elements? any help would be so appreciated. also ive done some research already and its NOT savvy by ingrid law tho the cover seems similar !

I watch 162 games a year & LOVE baseball. I never really played past like the 4th grade, though.
Because of that I don’t really know any of the underlying stuff. I don’t know how to look at a fastball & say if it’s good or bad. When I see swing comparisons it’s basically meaningless. That kind of thing.
Are there any good video series or anything like that where I could learn what makes a good slider and stuff like that?

Got this in the mail today. I was really worried if I was going to like it or not because I found it difficult to find photos of the newest version in the bracelet, and the brushed vs polished doesn’t always translate well in photos. The good news is I love it! The photos really don’t do it justice; the watch is stunning. It wears more like a sports watch than a dress watch (which is great for me). Hopefully adding some pictures on here will help some people who may be in the same boat I was in.
I’ve always wanted a moon phase to add to my collection and CW’s MoonGlow makes it the center piece of the watch. The new C1 moonphase looks nice too, but I need markers.

The decision to have the generations start and end a couple of years before or after the turnings is an interesting one. The argument seems to be that people need to at least remember the turning to be considered (insert generation), but that kinda seems like dumb semantics, especially if we’re having the dividing line as “being 2 when that era ended vs. being 3 or 4, or 5" as opposed to being born during the end of the old era vs. the start of the next.
The inherent arbitrariness is inevitable no matter what, so why not just have the turning be the generation? That, to me, actually seems less arbitrary. If it’s going to be a predictive science at all, we’d also have to ensure the “beginning of childhood” criteria such as age 3 or 4, doesn’t vary. As others have pointed out, why should the G.I. Generation begin in 1901 when they would have been 7 during the start of the third turning? Conversely, a 13er born in 1981 is supposedly a “child of the second turning” even though the third turning began in 1984.
