2024.11.29 08:27 propostor What has Razer AppEngine done to my sound drivers?

Last year I bought some headphones from this random brand, known as Razer. I have no idea if it's good or bad, I just thought yeah okay let's get these, the price point is okay.
Upon connecting them to my PC, I found I'm supposed to install some kind of "Razer AppEngine" for the "7.1 surround sound" to work.
Software installation for headphones?
'7.1' surround sound... for headphones?
What nonsense gimmicky marketing ploy is this?
Anyway I went ahead and did it.
Since then, my sound drivers are ALWAYS having problems. If I'm away from the PC for a short while, sometimes when I come back it takes about 30 seconds to "warm up" the sound again??? I'm sat there with no sound whatsoever until suddenly it decides to work.
This morning I had my headphones plugged in. Then I unplugged them as I wanted to have sound out of my normal PC speakers. Again, it took about 30 seconds for the sound to "warm up" and start working.
This happens literally every day.
What the hell has this Razer AppEngine crap done to my sound drivers? This all started on exactly the day when I had to install some ridiculous software just to make some headphones work. It's all gimmicky nonsense aimed at the gamer market. Totally ridiculous. I will never by Razer products in my life, total crap.

Hallo zusammen, unser alter Swift hat leider den TÜV nicht bestanden, daher brauchen wir jetzt ein neues Auto. Ich fahre ca. 30.000 km pro Jahr, täglich 100 km und gelegentlich längere Strecken (ca. 300 km).
Wir haben uns für einen Kia EV6 entschieden. Durch einen Abholschein über Mitarbeitervorteile bekomme ich bereits einen Rabatt im niedrigen zweistelligen Bereich.
Nun zu meiner Frage: Ich bin absolut kein guter Verhandler und weiß nicht, wie ich vorgehen soll. Ist es realistisch, zusätzlich zu diesem Rabatt noch einen weiteren Nachlass zu verhandeln? Sollte ich eher auf einen höheren Rabatt oder auf zusätzliche Leistungen (z.B. Winterreifen, kostenlose Inspektionen) setzen? Ich vermute, dass der Rabatt durch die Mitarbeitervorteile bereits einkalkuliert ist. Vielleicht ist ja hier jemand aus der Branche und kann helfen?
