For context, I’m 27, he’s 34, we live about 1,000 miles (and one hour) apart. We should be celebrating our two year anniversary at the beginning of 2025, but the thing is, I feel like he isn’t as into the relationship as I am. He spends 99.9% of his free time completely consumed by Fortnite. To the point where he goes time blind, is up until 4 am, sleeping until 1-2 pm the next day, and most importantly, not making good on his promises to call me so we can spend time together.
I’m not asking for much here. A quick call at the end of the night to talk about our day, once a month movie nights, etc. However, most days, I’m up waiting by the phone until I ultimately end up falling asleep without talking to him.
Within the last year I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours making sure we got to spend time together, that he would have a good birthday.. meanwhile I can’t even get a goodnight call.
I’ve tried talking to him about this issue five times now. FIVE. I have made it abundantly clear that if it happens again, I will leave.
I’m supposed to go visit him at the end of this year. Part of me wants to make sure we exchange things when I do. I don’t have a lot of hope.
He’s acted like he’s receptive when I bring it up but then nothing changes. I feel like I’m going insane.

Hello everyone, I’m replaying Half-Life 2 again after almost 15 years, and I had completely forgotten how streamlined the game is.
For the first time in a long while, I can sit down after a long day of work and family responsibilities and truly enjoy the gameplay. Somehow, it doesn’t make my brain work too hard, yet I can still appreciate the great storyline (I love the cat scene!) and progress through the game. Plus, the graphics still look fantastic and run smoothly on my "potato" laptop.
I’ve only found this kind of experience in games like My Friend Pedro (I know it’s not a boomer shooter, but I’m using it as a point of reference).
What is it about Half-Life 2 that makes it feel so light on the brain while still being such a high-quality experience?
