Hey! I am from Germany and new to west coast swing. I did not do a lot of dancing, especially not partner dancing in my life, but I did do a lot of theater, especially improvisation and some dance theater. Its also how I got interested in wcs, because I really like improvisation in all its little quirks and ways. I am in a beginner class and we basically by now learned the left-side pass, underarm-pass, sugar push and the torque turn. The teachers encouraged us to stay for the first dance party and I was very motivated, but then completely overwhelmed. The people dancing were very good and I had no idea on how the "etiquette" there works, so in the end I just sat at the side. Do you have any tips for a beginner on a dance party?

i'll pronounce jalapenos with a hard J rather than an H so its jal-a-pen-ohs
any mention of margherita, be it pizza or the drink will be responded to with "a pizza that gets ye pished?"
Not quite Still Game but if i'm on the skite early for football or whatever, i tend to announce "it's never too early for a fusilier" when sparking a stella.
some people get it, some don't but surely i'm not the only sad bastard who does this?

2024.11.29 09:41 MuhPhoenix I am afraid to take my cockatiel to vet
Hi! So my cockatiel has a problem with his left eye. Is red and sometimes there are these discharges that prevents him from keeping his eye open. I want to take him to a vet, but the problem is: I don't know any vet.
I went with him to the vet in the past, but for things like cutting his fingernails, things like that.
To be fair, I am scared to death to not lose him. I heard stories about people losing their cockatiel from medicines especially from those sedatives that help the bird to not be agitated.
Now, I don't think is my case, but still, I am very scared.
What should I do? I know he needs professional help, but I don't want to trust any doctor around him, especially one that maybe isn't very experienced with birds.
I am living in Iasi, Romania, so perhaps if someone is from that city too can help me.

2024.11.29 09:41 Brave-Tale-3132 I 18F think my bf 18M is losing feelings, how can I fix this ?
My bf used to put in a lot of effort by sometimes buying me a drink or watching movies and tv shows I like . Now he just asks me to come over to hookup and basically kicks me out when he’s finished. This has happened in the spam of 3 months. I’ve bought him new clothes, food whenever he asks and printed out a photo of us to try and make him happy. He’s upset when I go out with my friends but when I stay home he constantly cancels on me to game with his fiends. Also when we were at the beach recently and I got asked to be a model he was so embarrassed and just was so angry on the drive home. I’ve also tried to give him driving lessons and do whatever I can to make him happier.
