Hi everyone,
I’m applying for Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and could use some advice.
I had a gap in my studies during the winter 2020 semester because I experienced a mental health crisis and returned to my home country (Vietnam) in December 2019. My school approved my leave of absence for winter 2020 and I have documentation for my anxiety disorder diagnosis.
I planned to return to Canada as soon as possible, but COVID-19 travel restrictions prevented me from doing so. Instead, I resumed my studies online in fall 2020 full time, returning and doing my program by fall 2021 and completed my degree successfully.
Now, I’m worried that the gap might affect my PGWP application. I’m preparing an explanation letter but want to make sure it’s strong enough to support my case.
Does anyone know if this gap is likely to be an issue? If so, could you recommend a good immigration consultant or lawyer who has experience with cases like this?
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Probably more of a PSA than anything else, but this one caught me by surprise so thought I'd let others know!
In the mad rush of trying to get into the house before the day that shall not be named for cliché reasons, my wife has taken on a lot of the admin for our renovation, including ordering and managing a lot of the materials.
Yesterday she ordered tiles, adhesive, grout and other consumables for our shower from Easy Bathrooms, only to be told they charge a £20 collection fee...
I think with everything else that's going on, she was a little thrown by this, but didn't stop to question it until after the event.
I kind of get it, it's a showroom so they don't hold stock the same way Tile Giant or others might, but it still smacks a bit that they charge extra to collect from the store!
