2024.11.29 10:30 Fancy-Contract-3418 Struggling to Choose Between Delhi University and IGNOU — Need Advice
I'm in a big dilemma and could really use some advice. After taking a one-year drop, I got into Delhi University, which my father really wanted for me. I don't live in Delhi, so I had to stay in a pg, which is expensive. Being one of four siblings, I feel guilty about the financial burden this puts on my father. To make things worse, I didn’t even get my preferred course. The one I’m in now is heavily math-oriented, and while I can pass and maybe score decently (a 7 CGPA with hard work), I’m not confident about excelling.
Since I want to pursue an MBA at an IIM, I secretly enrolled in IGNOU for my preferred course, thinking it might ease the burden on my family and allow me to focus on something Im genuinely interested in. But now I’m torn:
- Should I stick with Delhi University for its brand value, even though the course is stressful and not my first choice? If I put in the hard work required to score well, it will take up my entire day, leaving me with no time for myself or other interests.
- Or should I switch to IGNOU, which aligns with my interests and reduces financial pressure, but might harm my chances at IIMs (since they may not value the degree as much)? My father is also planning to take loan for the same which i dont want.

I've seen a lot of grumbling around S2 that seems to take it for granted that it's somehow a diminishment for Vi to perform oral on Caitlyn.
Paraphrasing, people are framing this scene as if it enshrines Vi as a sort of secondary status partner in their dynamic. ("And what's the first thing she does? Gets on her knees and gives Caitlyn head of course!")
Folks, I cannot stress enough that this is Not It.
I can't and won't speak to straight or gay male oral sex politics, but it is absolutely not the dynamic involved here and if you're letting any lesbian you know see you say stuff like that you should think long and hard about it, urgently.
Whether you realize it or not, the implication is that it is you consider it somehow debasing or subservient for us to make love to our girlfriends. I know this is an inevitable effect of absolutely mush brained top/bottom discourse, but that is just not how it works, and it is more than a little insulting and insensitive to apply this reading.
Not to TMI, but generally speaking, giving and receiving cunnilingus is an exchange of different forms of trust and vulnerability first and foremost.
At the same time you're letting this person give you pleasure, you're having to put yourself and pretty much your whole body physically at their mercy and disposal; in exchange, they're trusting you to let them in and - not to be too flowery about it - cradle them in you, and look out for the both of you while their focus is necessarily rather narrowed. And all of this has to work while you can both only really communicate non verbally.
It's not any kind of dominance and submission thing (unless you want it to be), it is a mutual thing that works because you're both having to figure out how to give and take the whole time for the both of you.
As an aside, not to be too old and preachy, but apart from how shitty the innuendo towards lesbian relationships in particular is when it's framed the way it has been in some of these conversations, it just really worries me generally that sex always seems to be interpreted through the lens of a zero sum game, where there's always a winner and a loser, or a first and a second.
