Hi everyone!
Question around recommendations for accommodation - budget of ~AUD$100-120/night, but flexible.
First time solo traveller to Beijing next year (May 2025) with minimal to no Mandarin. Will be coming from Shanghai via train. Would likely be considering taxi (especially when I have my luggage) for transport but open to subways.
Hoping which accommodation would be best given my planned itinerary:
- Will be doing hutong tours around Drum Tower area so will likely be going through subway (Breakfast/dinner tours) and possibly watch Peking Opera show - Quite keen to try peking duck (ie Siji Minfu etc) and do some souvenir shopping - Would likely do a tour for the main sights (ie Forbidden City etc) - and will organise ones that would do hotel pick up - Last day would be Universal Beijing - I'm open to moving to a hotel closer to the park if required - I normally like booking hotels that have breakfast but I'm open to exploring the morning markets/breakfast spots too
I know that Wangfujing has been highly recommended for tourists, and Ive looked at the following hotels as well:
- The Orchid Hotel - Livefortuna - Houhaiyuan Hotel - Sunworld hotel
But I'm open to recommendations/thoughts/worries/concerns :)

Sorry if this post isn't allowed! Just wondering which city you'd recommend for Muslims moving to Virginia? We're a little bit country. We want a hobby farm less than 20 minutes from a big, good mosque. We need to be within 20 minutes of a horse boarding stable and an ice skating rink with advanced figure skating. We want at least 10 options for halal food. We want a conservative muslim community, like no freemixing and really good children being raised well. We have a budget of 750k which doesn't seem to go far outside of Fairfax, so Richmond? Any other small cities we may not have heard of? We love a small town with a historic library, everyone knows everyone, but not too far from a hospital and mosque... ?

das wird leider eine sehr spezifische Frage an einen kleinen Teil der Studierenden, aber ich bin langsam verzweifelt. Bald kommt mein Kind und niemand fühlt sich zuständig, mir Mutterschaftsgeld zu zahlen.
Zu meinen Daten: Freiwillig studentisch versichert mit einem Minijob (maximal 520€ verdient). Überall steht, dass die Krankenkasse zuständig ist, die wimmelt mich aber komplett ab. Erst wurde ich an die Minijobzentrale verwiesen, die haben mich zu meinem Arbeitgeber geschickt und der schickt mich wieder zur KK. Jetzt wurde ich von der KK zum Bundesamt für soziale Sicherung weitergeleitet, die haben aber heute keine Telefonzeiten mehr.

To make things easier on themselves the band decides to invite many of their friends to perform with them. I experimented with putting generic crowd noises in between songs for transitional purposes, but didn't like the results. I decided to keep a few to give you idea what I was going for, though. This is my second watch, after my first watch I was a little conflicted which weirds me out now because the horrors were so blatant during my second watch I’m not sure how I could have ever seen things differently during my first. I have DMD and I take a liquid medication called Vamorolone. It is supposed to be refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees celsius. However, even on the highest setting possible, my refrigerator is 10 degrees celsius. Could this affect the medication’s performance or even make it dangerous or is this fine?

2024.11.29 12:39 Apart-Use-2046 Error when I try to install Windows on new SSD
Current Setup was SSD with Windows installed and a HDD for storage stuff. Few days ago I bought a new PCIE SSD with faster read speed and bigger storage. Goal is to freshly install Windows 11 on the new SSD and keep the other one as storage. I downloaded the Windows 11 Boot files from the Microsoft website onto my. Usb. When I boot my PC via USB I manage to get to the part where I have to select the partition where I want to install Windows. When I select the new SSD I get the Error shown in the attached image (it basically says sth like "Error when choosing this partition for the installation. Chose a different partition or refresh the selection")
But when I select the old SSD (or even the HDD) I don't get an error and I could proceed.
Additional Information: When I go into BIOS and have CSM disabled, I don't have the boot Option for the new SSD, only when I enable it. I assume that's because I don't have any Boot files on the new SSD. Second, when I have TPM Configuration set to "Discrete TPM" (second image) (which is the default value when I set Bios to default") I don't even get to the part where I can select the partition. After typing in the windows product key I get the Error that my PC doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11. Only when I have "Firmware TPM" selected I am able to get to the partition part.
If you could help I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
