Apologies if it’s a bit long…I’m really looking more for advice on how to handle this situation rather than a judgement, but I couldn’t think of a better title, so here it goes…
I (40 F) am a working mom with 4 kids and I have a friend from high school, Kerry (40 F) who just recently moved back to our hometown with her husband and their 3 kids. Kerry also works full time. I am a very busy woman and my husband, our children & work are my main priorities.
For some background: we met & became friends my junior year of high school, we worked at the same place for a year & I was in her wedding. We were close but as time & life went on, we both got busier and busier and had less time to talk. For the last 10 years, I would say we talk and catch up at least 4 times a year. Now, onto the issue:
I work in a service industry and many of my clients have my personal number which leads to work messages mixed with personal messages and as I am often running around like a chicken without a head, I will often open a text but forget to respond or I’ll draft a response, get distracted and not hit send. This is important, I promise.
Since moving back over the summer, Kerry & I have hung out twice. She’s also called me a few other times to hang out but it was after 11 pm and I was asleep and another time it was to hang out with her and some other people from high school that I legitimately have ZERO interest in ever hanging out with again.
Recently over the last 2 months, she’s been getting really upset with me for not responding to her texts. At the end of October she sent me a few memes which I forgot to respond to and she followed it up the next day with: “STOP IGNORING ME!!! 🤬☹️😭😤😠”
I responded and said: “I’m so sorry. I’ve been so stupid busy with work and the kids - I promise I’m not ignoring you. Just REALLY busy and not the best at texting.”
We chatted a bit more via text, and I told her I would call her the next day and what time, she gave me a thumbs up and everything seemed cool. I called her the next day at the scheduled time but she didn’t answer which, to me is totally fine - I know how life with a lot of kids is - left her a message but never heard back from her until a few nights ago as I was about to fall asleep.
She said, “I haven’t heard from you in two months, are we not friends?”
I value this woman’s friendship but I feel like I’m being held to a double standard and without any leeway considering how crazy life is at the moment. I mean, if anybody could understand how busy l am, I would expect it to be her. And also, the phone works two ways.
I haven’t responded to her yet because honestly I don’t know how to & with all this scolding, I’m beginning to feel like my friendship is one more thing I have deal with rather than WANTING to hang out with her. Am I justified in my feelings, is this strange behavior for a 40 year old woman and what do I even say to her?

2024.11.29 12:40 hungersong I took midodrine for the first time today and my blood pressure readings actually got lower, not higher. Did anyone else experience this?
I am not looking for medical advice, just common experiences.
I was expecting the midodrine to make my blood pressure higher.
I’ve been monitoring it with an at-home device. Before taking midodrine my blood pressure was 110/70.
Two hours after taking it now my blood pressure is reading 90/50.
I dont feel anything out of the ordinary, I just wasn’t expecting to get these readings.

I’m 21 in a healthy long distance relationship for the past 7 months and everything has been very positive and easy going. For the first time in my life communication felt easy. We already planned to meet up the next month. I do feel like I love her, she has healed me and I’ve healed her. But I came across a girl from a friend group, we use to play games online so we knew of each other. Currently she’s the interest of my cousin who is the dearest friend I have, we’ve been just friends hanging out with groups the entire time, getting along super well and just having the best time. Random hangouts lasting like 24 hours from bowling to food to hangouts to the beach. We last hung out one more time with her friends at an amusement park and during the middle of the day, suddenly I found myself really enjoying my time with her, glancing at her whenever I could and I didn’t even realize how consumed I was by her. It was really eating me up inside with guilt, I felt a lot of shame the moment I realized I think I like her. But we’ve only known eachother for a week? I can’t do this to my s/o and my cousin. Throughout the whole day we made a lot of eye contact and shared a drink and waited in lines together for a while but I couldn’t shake the feeling. When we went to the beach again for some reason I asked her I really needed to tell her something. I first apologized if I made her uncomfortable at all today since I was acting different. I said I was mesmerized by you but I couldn’t keep it in and I felt so much by just being with you. And I explained how I felt like a scumbag for feeling this way especially knowing I’m in a relationship and this was someone my cousin really liked (his previous girlfriend left him for his best friend). I’m not sure why I even told her but in the moment I felt like I needed to let her know? But I also said I can’t feel this way and I hope we can still stay friends. She said she had always felt comfortable with me and still now, and said it wasn’t like she wasn’t attracted to me and was in the past. I told my gf about everything and reassured her and she handled it super well saying how being attracted to someone is totally normal and human. The problem is now I’m thinking about her, is this more than a crush? I feel really conflicted with what to do. Songs I listen to make me think of her too, not a lustful feeling but if i could spend more time with her I would feel happier? I really feel so confused, resonating with the song cry by cigarettes after sex. Why can’t I be faithful.

Hi zusammen! Is tatsächlich das erste mal, dass ich bei Reddit was poste und nicht nur lese. 😂 Ich miste zuhause gerade aus, wenn man so will. Ich hab hier nun einen XDJ-XZ (hat einen kleinen Schaden am Mic-Panel - der schalter für's zweite Mic is defekt, ansonsten voll funktionsfähig) und einen RX3. Der XZ steht im Wohnzimmer, der RX3 geht mit auf Veranstaltungen, wenn dort kein 3000/900/A9-Setup steht.
Jetzt soll einer weg, denn eigentlich hab ich den RX3 im letzten Jahr vielleicht drei mal gebraucht. Aber wer geht? Von der Haptik her gefällt mir der XZ mit größeren Wheels besser. Hat ja sowieso nen kleinen Schaden. Dafür aber eben auch das kleinere Display und ich weiss auch nicht wie es da mit Support von Firmware und Library in Zukunft weitergeht.
Der RX3 ist eben die nächste Generation, auch was Unterstützung von Library Plus usw. angeht, aber geht vielelicht leichter weg und hat eben keinerlei Schaden.
Ich bin wirklich unschlussig....

I can recognise the notes and play, just not familiar enough with the notes and switching fast enough
Bb scale : (probably the easiest scale, right?), I recognised the melody (?) so I was able to remember it faster
Eb scale : I can get it but I get confused sometimes
Ab scale & others : I haven’t practiced that yet…
Trying to master all the scales before school restarts (January), and fingerings before April arrives
Please leave some advice for me, do I master the scales first then go on to the piece I have to learn before January?
[There’s a piece I have to learn before January, I can play, just need to practice more before I get the hang of it]
(The fingerings that I have to learn before April, aren’t that important as of the moment as I know most of the notes already and can play)
Are scales important if I want to improve faster? Do I warm up with scales? (I have nothing else other than scales, fingerings and pieces for concerts)
