Hello everyone c: I’d like to start by saying my diabetes is now balanced, with an A1C of 5.5, 6 years ago, when I was first diagnosed, it was 14.2. The only form of sugars I eat occasionally at fruits (although mostly low GI) and vegetables (potatoes sometimes, but not often). Although, I have been experiencing an interesting sensation over the past few years whenever I eat sugar. It makes my face feel incredibly dirty, as if I haven’t washed it in a week. The skin around my eyes feels dry, but the rest of my face feels oily to the touch. This doesn’t happen occasionally, but it’s just an observation that I made over the years. Anyone else familiar with this?

Once again, I point out from the start that I am a foreigner.
I hope that I can find some resources on development economics that are not written by liberal idiots. Until then, let me ask you a general question.
How much do you think can be done for the poor people of India with only a shift in domestic policy,
i.e. without any assurances from the United States of favouring India when it comes to technology transfers, investment, capital inflows etc?
My fear is that the main reason for China's improvement from the 1980s is that for its own geopolitical reasons the US happened to find China useful and therefore allowed China to earn some US dollars.
(Of course, it also has to do with China's own decisions at the time, some good, some bad. But I think that foreign policy was the main driving force. Do you agree?)
My secondary fear is that de-dollarisation is going to be a very, very slow process, so that the US factor will remain.
Finally, to amuse you, here's a delicious clip of garbage Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee explaining how China just made lucky guesses and we could not predict that state-owned banks could do so well and India can't really learn from China. Achchha, so because right-wing economists can't understand state-led growth, it follows that it was all an accident? How convenient for your career.

Met him today at school again. I sat at the first bench and he sat with his friends at the very back, a few of my friends who know he asked me out kept laughing and telling me that he was constantly looking at me. I had decided to ask him the first thing today, but everytime I got a bit nervous and decided not to. Finally when school ended, I was packing my bag and waiting for everyone to leave, and he waited behind too, slowly packing his bag so he could stay behind. Finally when I was alone with him, I went over to him and said 'hi' (yeah, i'm fucking awkward), and he said 'it is a yes right?' I decided to do what you guys in the comments told me to do, so I looked at him straight in the eyes and asked him, 'You know (the girl who said he cheated)? Did you cheat on her back in ninth?' He immediately said no-no I did not we actually broke up because she was constantly mad at me and kept on telling me other problems in their relationship which led to the breakup. If I was confused yesterday, I am even more confused now 😭
