I am a young doctor(25) who's done with her degree and housejob. I wanna follow the unconventional path now. I don't want to jump into my Post grad training (please seniors don't try to convince me). It's not because I want to ditch Medicine. I eventually want to specialize in Psychiatry and then sub specialize in Child Psychiatry too. But it's just that I am in no rush. I don't wanna be a part of the race jis mein sb kuch 30s sy pehly ho jana chahiye. As if world is gonna end once I hit 30s.
These twenty five years , that I have lived so far, unfortunately I just couldn't get enough exposure of our community. I never got a chance to get out, on my own, work with people, network, be a part of anything that works towards community welfare. I got some opportunities in med school but unfortunately I missed those too( just being scared ky proffs affect hon gy)
I have made my mind to relocate to Gilgit Baltistan ( the rest of the provinces I just don't find safe, please change my mind if I am wrong. I am from Kashmir so idk much:/ ) I want to move there on my own (my parents would be fine with that, they are the kind jo North Korea bhi bhaij dain gy if it's parhai/career related,lol). So far I have tried to connect with some local/national/international welfare organizations and trusts to let me be a part. But I didn't get any responses so far. I don't want to stick to health care work only. I would love to work in Education, Awareness, Empowerment , and any other kind of welfare programs too. Ik I am a doc, but I rn in this phase in my life I want to be a teachehealth worke volunteer or anything else that would contribute towards community welfare.
I am planning on doing this for atleast a year(could exceed). It's not a couple weeks hobby that I want to pursue.
I have never been to GB before. I have no experience of this kind of work. I don't have many connections too. If anyone could help me find the right communities who work there, that are safe to be with(I would be relocating) , to work with and learn from. I would love to hear from you.
As for supporting myself financially I won't ask my Dad lol, but I plan on doing a small local clinic as a medical officer in the locality to pay my bills. It's alright if I won't be saving any money. My purpose to do this is different.
It's an effort from my end, for my self, to get out of this comfort bubble, communicate with people and do THE WORK. SERVE THE COMMUNITY actually.

- This even has 3 mushfest strews for the anniversary and I was wondering if they listed what the stews have. My wife plays my profile as much as I do and her most wanted decal is Vampire Queen. My most wanted decal is UFF. I know UFF is better, but my wife wants VQ so that's what I'm going for. If VQ isn't in the upcoming stews, I just want to blow my DMs for UFF. That's why it's important for me to know the upcoming ones.
- Why does everyone talk about and use one way ticket when Special Unit Captain seems way better? I have both but I just use SUC.
- Using Serial Killer is insanely annoying. Is there a setting to reduce the distortion?

Heya! I really want to try to get into captain beefheart, but I feel like I’m starting in all the wrong places. I loveeeee frank Zappa soo much I’m obsessed with how busy and fulfilling his music is, but I wanted to branch out to some similar artists.
I tried to start with captain beefhearts earlier more accessible bluesy albums but they didn’t feel quite experimental enough to keep me hooked. I then explored his more experimental stuff and I found it really hard to wrap my head around!! Maybe too experimental for me to start off with without really knowing much of his discography and style.
My favourite frank Zappa album is one size fits all (probably the most common answer ever) and hot rats is close second (I know CBH did some of the vocals for Willie the pimp)
For reference, other musicians I love include; Steely Dan, Talking Heads, Tom Waits, and Kate Bush
If anyone can help me out that would be great :) if not that’s fine! I would just like to see where most of you would recommend starting. He may just not be for me! Which is also fine.

2024.11.29 14:39 mohawk_noproblems Just found out my insurance is grandfathered in. They won't cover my bisalp.
But I'm still fucking getting it.
Pretty heartbreaking. Got the call in the morning yesterday, insurance person from the hospital told me the cost due at pre-op will be just under $1,700. She said there may (will, I understand) be other costs at the hospital but that the "hospital is flexible" on payment.
I am 25 (nb) and just now making it on my own. This will be... most of my money. But it's the most important thing to me right now.
Thankfully my mom is on my side about this (though still occasionally bingoing me, she knows my mind is made up and supports me) and said she'd be able to help me with it. My biggest thing is that our insurance did not cover my Nexplanon implant, either, so we've been paying out of pocket for that every 3 years for the past 8 years, due again soon. I'd rather handle it ASAP knowing it will pay for itself in a few years, both in terms of money and peace of mind.
Just.... oof. Fuck. Ouch. sighhhhh.
Anyone else have this happen to them and have advice? of any kind?

Never had to do this, but currently at a big chain hotel and the room next to me had people yelling. My room has a connecting door and I can hear them a bit easier than just a wall. I assumed it was just an after party thing, but then I heard commotion and it wouldn't stop. It's mid ight at this point and then I hear a vacuum. I cannot downstairs and tell the front desk who seems confused and say a they'd send someone. As I get up and head towards the attached door, I step in water.
They broke the toilet and water was coming in from their room. I currently have a new room, but should I be asking for compensation.

33M donating blood for the first time and my hemoglobin levels were high, 18.7 g/dL. My last blood test in March had me barely over the normal range at 17.8 g/dL but my doctor did not have any concerns at the time.
My hematocrit has run a bit high for years (usually 53.1-ish%) but my doctor and a friend of mine with a medical degree said this isn't really concerning.
The nurse at the blood drive said high hemoglobin can lead to (or be caused by? She wasn't very clear) liver or kidney issues but that regular donation will help lower hemoglobin.
Are there other tests I should get from my doctor to check on my kidneys and liver right now? I've had the kidney function test done within the last 2 years without issue, but I believe I may have an oxalate sensitivity or something because I often feel irritation in my groin area like kidney stones even though I haven't had any detected when I check (in case this is relevant information).
Any other ideas about what might contribute to my high hemoglobin? I'm very mindful about hydration generally. Thanks in advance for any input.

Got a new (and my first) headset the other day for HLL. But whenever I join a party everyone is muted and I cannot unmute them. Everyone else can hear each other but I'm muted, even though it shows my headset is connected and they can't unmute me either.
I can hear chat in game when not in a party, but never if I'm in a party.
Anything I'm missing to get it sorted?
