Is the love you feel for a friend, to a family member and to a lover different than each other?
If so how can you differentiate between them or can you?
It's usually easy for me to feel strong emotions to a people I have good time with. It can be a coworker, it can be a student of mine (I work at a university), it can be a friend etc. And I feel like I want to hug them very tightly, sometimes if I'm having a hard time at falling asleep I may imagine a friend of mine snuggling me (it comforts me and help me fall asleep easier)
So when I have a new person in my life that I start to feel close, I question myself like "am I falling in love with them?" (Also there aren't too much people I feel really close at the same time, I have a small quota to fell really close at a defined time).

I wish I wasn’t so proud of this, but I really am. Every Thanksgiving I over indulge, which is no different than any other holiday, weekend, or any given night I decide to spiral. I woke up at 8:00am, relaxed in bed with my cat, and went to the gym and had the best leg day in a while. I know it’s a no brainer but why would I ever want to wake up hungover again? Writing this post for future me who wants to go out for drinks forgetting how determined I feel right now and for anyone else who’s sick of being sick.

2024.11.29 15:40 Free_Worldliness_413 Macbook Pro 16 gb vs 24gb Memory RAM?
Looking to get a new macbook pro. I currently have a 2020 macbook pro 16GB memory RAM intel Core i5 processor. It still works fine for the most part but the battery drains pretty easily and it often overheats/fans run wild if I'm doing too much on it.
I use it for WFH by connecting it to a monitor (might get a 2nd one not sure yet) and I'm in a finance role. Majority of what I use is Excel, Zoom, & Alteryx, sometimes I need huge files open in Excel (50k+ MB). I feel like my current macbook is fine but if I'm doing too much the fans go crazy which is annoying and I have to charge it 2-3 times per day while working. I'm wondering if 24GB memory would be better than 16GB in terms of fans, overheating, charge not draining, etc.? the price difference being $400 is wild though so not sure if it'd actually be worth it since I'm not doing anything too crazy besides working in large excel files.

hey lovely people. according to my mom, I just ruined thanksgiving! I (23F) have been talking long distance with one of my brother’s best friends (22M). We have a lot in common and were flirting a lot before both coming home for the holidays, and which point we spent time together the night before thanksgiving and kissed but things haven’t gone further than that yet. I told my brother I like his friend because I thought honesty is the best policy here. I should’ve probably told my brother when I started flirting with his friend, but I also wanted to let things develop before I took that step to reveal everything. Anyway, my brother was really supportive at first but the next morning entirely changed his tune. Could be because of how angry my mom got. My mom implied that I ruined my relationship with my brother and even went as far as to call me disgusting and predatory because my crush is younger (by 1.5 year and we are both consenting adults???!). I have support from my dad and my sister, but my mom and brother are saying I acted despicably and violated a boundary. I totally understand my brother’s concern but wish I could have a calm conversation with him about it instead of being made to feel like such a terrible person. But AITA? to make matters more complicated, im hoping to confess the full extent of my feelings for this dude today. I want to get that off my chest but now worry about my family’s potential involvement.

For example , I could think an event happened in 2023 but then come to find out said event happened in my life in the year 2021. Is that normal as you get older ? Could that be a reason why generations are more defining in your adolescence/childhood since those years are basically a large portion of life for that time period ? Do I make sense lol ?

To give you some background, my South American aunt in law recently got a Brazilian Butt Lift. Previously, her waist was 30 inches at something like 5'2". She was told by American doctors that this is not a good sign for her height and she should change lifestyle and diet. She goes to South America and does a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure which is very cheap and commonplace there. According to her and her girlfriends down there who also get this procedure done, it mitigates the effects of being obese. Other thing is she has a boob job from years ago that she claims adds to her weight so the scale makes it seem like she is obese? So now she has a 25 inch waist and shaped like a short round hourglass instead of a ball like she was before.
But at Thanksgiving day meals, I noticed she kind of struggled and I thought it could've been signs of diabetes that she needs to get checked out. I'm thinking this BBL doesn't change metabolic health just because fat was moved from the middle to the butt. What is the truth behind this and the scientific take?

Hello,
I recently built a new Proxmox server, used the community scripts to create a privileged LXC, and used https://jocke.no/2022/02/23/plex-gpu-transcoding-in-docker-on-lxc-on-proxmox/ as a guide as to how to get the GPU working.
My question is -- I've installed tdarr and set it up the way I like, but I don't feel confident it is doing what it's supposed to.
I have the GPU worker threads set to 4 transcode and 2 health checks -- and it will run.
However, on both the host and the LXC, if I were to run "nvidia-smi" -- only the health checks appear as running processes. Transcodes don't, despite them running, and the CPU worker threads set to 0.
If I look at Proxmox -- I see the host CPU quite taxed.
My expectations are, in the host/LXC - I would see some record of the transcodes listed under "nvidia-smi" AND I would have expected the CPU to essentially be idle in the event CPU worker threads are set to zero.
Can anyone offer some insight here?

Hello all. I recently plugged in a WD 2Tb external drive that’s around 5 to 7 years old into my Macbook Pro. It wouldn’t show up, I ran disk utility, and the result said that the files could be copied but not edited. However, when I click on the drive, the file list never stops loading so I can’t even select any files to copy. I ran Disk Drill (I know it may not be the best) for like 12 days straight and thought I recovered thousands of files onto a new drive, but the video files don’t play and many other documents are missing sections. Any suggestions to recover these files would be really appreciated.
