2024.11.29 15:39 GeologistSmooth2594 How do you keep kids productive during winter and holidays?
I have an 8 y/o, 2 y/o, and one on the way. In the warm months I feel like we’re always on the go, always have something to do. Co-op, outdoor play dates, sports. It’s easy to stick with an academic schedule and feel productive.
Currently it’s 47 degrees outside and I am not a cold weather person. It’s the holiday time so no taekwondo this week, no co-op until January, and I’m in my first trimester so my energy is tanked. We’ve been watching a LOT of tv (lots of educational but lots of random movies too)
What can I do to feel like we’re not just cooped up at home doing nothing? I try to bake with my kids but the older one is only half interested, and the other is VERY two😅
Just looking for both solidarity that I’m not the only one struggling with this and ideas on what to do with our time

Sorry if this doesn't belong here.
I am from El Salvador but came to the USA at the age of 3.
I occasionally travel to El Salvador and I realized that I'm a lot more confident in that country and around women. Pretty much everyone there speaks Spanish and to begin with for some reason, speaking in different languages just feels like entirely different vibes.
El Salvador has a comic con just like here in the USA and most other countries and it also has a lot of very hot cosplayers. But I'm a lot more confident and less awkward.
I view hot white women here as "higher status" and much more beautiful and just... I can't exactly out my finger on it but again, higher status. They seem so untouchable, unattainable, unapproachable, superior. Winning the heart of a white woman as a non white guy seems like such a feat.
I really wanna overcome this feeling.

Después de dilemas de la vida, 2 carreras abandonadas y sin saber qué hacer con mi futuro, quiero estudiar algo que sé que me encanta, y es todo lo que se refiere al 3D. Ya tengo un manejo más intermedio de varios programas relacionados, pero necesito profundizar en cosas que no te pueden enseñar cursos online, o hacer una red de contactos por lo menos.
Quiero compartir lo que investigue también, ya que vi a varios con dudas sobre la carrera y dónde estudiarlas. Voy a ir de carreras específicas a menos específicas pero con rama relacionada.
Instituto Image Campus | Produccion y Animacion 3D:
- Abarcan en todo tipo de aspecto 3D. Parece buena carrera y te enseñan todo en general. Instalaciones decentes. Al 3er año la mayoría ya está laburando en el rubro. Estudia poca gente por el alto valor de la cuota. Profesores excelentes y malos. Administración mediocre.
- 536k la cuota mensual al 11/2024, es carísima así que por ahora la descarto a menos que la pueda acoplar con el laburo.
- Tecnicatura, 3 años. Turno mañana, mientras más avanzas en la carrera pueden cambiar los turnos según lo que decidan la mayoría de estudiantes. Posible doble titulación con un año más en otras carreras similares.
- Buenas materias abarcativas, más tirando a la Animación. Salió gente reconocida de varios estudios de animación. Instalaciones decentes. Convenios con empresas fuertes. Profesores excelentes y malos. Administración mediocre.
- 275k-390k la cuota mensual al 11/2024, es algo cara pero dependiendo el turno que elijas sale más barato. Cuenta con modalidad online más barata aún (235k-310k).
- Tecnicatura, 3 años. Turno mañana, tarde o noche. Posibilidad de licenciarse con convenios en otras universidades con 1 o 2 años más.
- Se ve de las mejores en temas de contenido, tengo entendido que entra mucha gente de repente porque abren inscripciones cada dos años, la próxima en Octubre 2026.
- Universidad pública.
- Tecnicatura, 3 años. Turno mañana o tarde.
- Cero información de esta más allá de la pagina, no encontre de experiencias relacionadas a la carrera.
- 270k la cuota mensual al 11/2024.
- Tecnicatura, 2 años. Mañana.
- Nada de informacion mas alla de la pagina, no vi experiencias relacionadas a la carrera. Los demo reales que te muestran son todo animación 2D. Administración mediocre.
- 137k la cuota mensual al 11/2024.
- Tecnicatura, 3 años. Turno mañana o tarde, no muy claro. Con posibilidad de licencia en Videojuegos en la UCBA.
- No hay mucha informacion mas alla de la pagina, pero es de las mejores universidades de la Argentina. La carrera es paga pero de bajo costo. No está precisamente en CABA pero dependiendo donde vivas te puede quedar cerca o justificar el viaje.
- 80k la cuota mensual al 11/2024.
- Tecnicatura, 2 años y medio. Turno mañana. Al terminar la tecnicatura podes arrancar con la Licenciatura en Animación Digital, 2 años más de duración.
- No tengo mucha información más que en la página (relacionado a la rama de Animación). Parece haber buenos profesores. Abrió hace 10 años. Las instalaciones dejan que desear. Las inscripciones cerraron el 15/11/2024.
- Universidad Pública.
- Licenciatura, 4 años. No están claros los turnos. Estudias la carrera general en Audiovisual y según tu orientación te especializas en lo que quieras.
- LAS PRE-INSCRIPCIONES PARA EL CBC CIERRAN HOY, 29/11/2024. Les recomiendo ayudarse con la inscripción en Reddit. No tengo mucha información relacionado a la rama de animación, más que se ve en partes de la carrera y varia gente terminó dedicándose a eso al recibirse.
- Universidad Pública.
- Licenciatura, 4 años y medio (sin contar CBC creo, no puedo chequear porque la página esta caída). No están claros los turnos.
- Buenos profesores y instalaciones. Con respecto a la animación, hay gente que se dedica a eso al recibirse pero no se ve muy potable a ese lado.
