As 2025 approaches, I feel like I'm barely holding it together. Workload keeps increasing, but the pay is still garbage. One of the things that's really been getting under my skin is how Leads are being expected to take on additional tasks, like CSS/FBM duties, without any increase in compensation. I get it—Leads are supposed to support all levels of management—but the amount of extra work we're expected to do, with no real support, is ridiculous.
At least, that's been my experience. I'm the "go-to" Lead for everything, while the other Leads get off with the bare minimum. I train, handle the cascade charts (and of course, I'm assigned the most people to manage), and my store is crazy about email communication for shift recaps—so guess who's doing those in place of the MOD? Yep, me. I also take care of most refunds, till issues, damage control, signage, POGs, and everything else you can imagine.
It’s gotten to the point where I'm being stretched so thin that I honestly feel like I'm going to crash out. My workload is increasing, but there’s no support and no recognition for it. Where’s the balance? Where’s the fair compensation? It’s frustrating to be expected to do so much with little to no back-up, and no real incentive to keep pushing through.
Am I the only one feeling this way, or are others experiencing the same? What are your thoughts on how Leads are being treated heading into 2025?

I’ve been living in Germany for some time now, and I’ve found it incredibly difficult to adjust compared to other countries. As someone who has also lived in the USA and other parts of Europe, I can't help but notice how much harder it is to integrate here.
People in Germany often seem emotionally distant and unwelcoming. Conversations rarely go beyond surface-level interactions, and forming genuine connections feels next to impossible. It feels like the social fabric here is too rigid and uninviting, especially for foreigners.
What’s even more frustrating is that, despite learning German and trying many ways to be social, people here remain cold and unfriendly. I’ve made a genuine effort to speak the language, attend events, and immerse myself in the culture, but the walls people put up just won’t come down. It’s disheartening and makes it difficult to feel at home.
On top of that, the expectation to speak German fluently—even from the very beginning—is overwhelming. Sure, learning the local language is important, but the lack of patience and understanding when you're still learning makes daily life exhausting. It's not just the language, though—there’s an unspoken pressure to conform entirely to German culture, with little room for individuality or differences.
This is so different from my experience in other countries, where people are generally more open, willing to help, and accepting of cultural differences. In the USA or countries like the Netherlands or Sweden, even as a non-native speaker, it’s easier to find a sense of belonging and to adapt without feeling judged or excluded.
It also makes me wonder: How would Germans feel if they were treated the same way when they moved abroad? What if they were forced to fully adopt a foreign language and culture, with no room for their own identity, and found people distant and unwilling to connect?
I don’t mean to criticize just for the sake of it—I really want to understand. Why is it this way? Have other foreigners faced the same challenges here, or do some people see it differently? I’d appreciate any advice or perspectives from those who’ve had similar experiences—or maybe even from Germans themselves.

Anyway, the plot that is happening is just SO good and I can lead the story in so many different ways. Kinda have two plots at the moment but idk if I want to connect them or not. At the moment they are just a “doing the same thing but for different reasons”.
I really like focusing on this one guy, though. His name is Ossis (might change but who knows) and I’m essentially following him through how he becomes obsessed with this guy to the point that he wants to be him and have everything he has.
Kinda idolizes him over simple acts and gestures which leads to envy, desire, all that kinda stuff. PLUS he’s just a neat looking guy lol.
So yeah, there’s a bit of the thing I have going on!

2024.11.29 15:30 Thedouk1970 I got er! Some issues I saw….
Alright guys so I picked her up Wednesday night around midnight talked the guy down to $2300 (for all the info check out my first post about this truck) and she did make the 4 hour drive to family thanksgiving! Not without a few issues though. First things first the power steering high pressure line has 3 pinholes and she PISSSSSSES power steering fluid everywhere at about a quart an hour. I wrapped it in tin foil to divert it to at least drip on the ground and I keep refilling it about every hour. The second issue I found out is it’s got a solid gas leak when if you overfill the tank. Not super worried about that one. Third all the fluids looked pretty good but definitely needs attention, the coolant was light brown but with no sludge (doing coolant flush now along with an oil change). The heat was weak so I hope with a coolant flush it’ll help out….. all in all I still think I got a damn good deal. The exhaust is loud as fuck it just dumps under the cab I’ll fix that when I get home. What do you guys think? Good deal or did I fuck myself?
