2024.11.29 15:36 Canadianswiftie9 Pentax 17 vs Pentax K1000 vs Canon AE-1 Program

These are the cameras I’ve decided to look further into and purchase one.
I usually shoot mirrorless but am looking to regain my passion for photography as turning it into a business has taken that away from me. I thought shooting film would be a good way to just shoot for me again to capture memories & nature shots & social media.
I have found a Pentax k1000 for 150 A cannon ae-1 program for 300 & of course the Pentax 17 at 599 plus tax.
The pros of the Pentax 1000 & canons are that I can spend little compared to the Pentax 17 but that they could break on me as they are from marketplace and who knows how long they have left without needing service. They also have more lens options but at that point wouldn’t I just use my Sony? The whole point was to get a compact camera and I just don’t find my phone exciting me even with my muses.
The cons of the Pentax 17 is obviously the half frame & if I don’t end up looking shooting film I just dropped a pretty penny. The pros would obviously be the warranty and if just seems like a fun camera to shoot without having to put too much thought into it and just live on the moment
Any advice would be great.

I was talking to my friend yesterday about Re:Zero, and we came to talking about Felix Argyle, and he basically said he hates Felix as a character because he’s trans and “You’re born with one gender”. Which he kept repeating over and over again… “Whats wrong with being a femboy/trans?” “You’re born with a gender!”. He then asked “Don’t you think it’s weird for a man to wear a bra?” and when I said no he called me a hippie… Now he isn’t responding to anything and I dont know what to do. Like he’s basically a brother to me but like he’s so hateful and idk what to do… It’s really hurtful because I’m considering whether or not im trans myself and if I ever actually come out with that im afraid he’ll cut me off completely, and even if he doesn’t, his words still hurt me…

I'm going to need to travel up to 120 miles round trip, 55-60 miles one way every day for up to 2 months until i can get my license. I will be needing to do this in the wintertime :( but i have to do what i have to do, you know? My budget is around $1000 for a 50cc. I feel skeptical about buying used because I know that people can lie about the condition it's in and the repairs it needs, or just be unaware that it needs work done or that parts are about to go out. Any advice? I dont know the first thing about repairing or modifying these, but i'll do what i need to do
