I am sorry it's a long post and I cannot give a TL;DR cause you really need to read it completely to help me! Any advice is appreciated.
I am the sole bread winner of the family & my mom is completely dependent on me. She somehow has a problem with that fact itself that I earn and she feels that somehow gives me dominance over the family and her. And even if it does, how is it wrong when I am the one earning?!?!
Now, after my dad died in 2018 till now, in 6 years she has realised her family is very problematic, have no basic common sense, no financial education, is extremely toxic and very stupid to be honest, yet very ill-minded. We used to stay very close to them after my father's death: she saw how they behaved with us during those hard times. My dad left us with nothing, I was a college student, and we literally were dirt poor. They lived their happy life and even told people who went to them asking about us: that they shouldn't come and talk about us in any way.
Over, 3 years she has realised to her core that how toxic and bad they are. Especially my mama (the younger one). He has a series of failures ONLY in his life. And that is only because he is dumb, irresponsible, and immature. He even recently was in "custody" because of a similar dumb mistake. Though I would not say its entirely a mistake cause he was greedy and he got punished for it. Now, after he was released, my mom felt the dire need of handing him money cause apparently the entire family was not able to feed themselves! IT'S a JOINT FAMILY! During festivals, I had to just give out 20,000 rupees like it was change. I was already pissed. I consoled myself thinking its charity. Fine!
He called my mom again today. He called me thrice, I didn't pick up. Then he called my mom. The person he has been saying for so long, he can't get a hold of on the phone cause apparently he is blocked on my mom's number: HE IS NOT! In these years of hardship, he never even called us once, I don't think he even remembers I exist. He was the one who said that he didn't even want to hear about us ever! And then he called today, told my mom long tales of how he wasn't able to feed his family, and how poor they were apparently. That apparently my other mama's daughter was handing over all her earnings to her (He paid for this daughter's MBA and even got her a pharmacist license that I literally begged for when me and mom were in such dire situation; he didn't even care!). And my MOM after so many years of understanding how shitty the entire family and especially this mama is, CAME TO MY ROOM and said please hand him over money.

I am sorry, what? Why should I? She even said, you are saving for "XXX" why don't you take that money and give it to him? I am sorry, what? She said, I will sell off my gold jewellery and give you back that money. MOM, if I wanted your gold jewellery to buy things for myself, you wouldn't have any left!! How can she do this? And then she makes me feel guilty that I am behaving rudely or reacting badly to the entire event because she "DOESN'T HAVE HER OWN MONEY." And I am disrespecting her!
What am I supposed to do? Should I just leave and become a digital nomad? Just send her money back? I feel this weird deep responsibility towards her because she is MY MOTHER, duh! No matter how rudely she behaves with me, I just justify it that she has been through so much in her life, let's cut her some slack. But this maternal family is one thing that I cannot just justify in any manner. It's not like they have even behaved nicely towards her, then why? How do I make her understand? Or will she never understand? Just like how I feel this deep responsibility towards my mom inspite of her shortcomings, she will also continue to have this responsibility. But then again, is it really something that I should care about? I really don't know what to do. Whenever these people re-enter our lives, I want to leave. And this time, it's too much. I really can't. I feel I will never be able to do anything in MY LIFE if I continue to get tangled up in her senses of responsibility.

2024.11.29 16:30 TemporaryThis8054 Kitchen sink trap / venting

Hi all, I'm looking for some info/advice on correcting some venting issues.
My kitchen sink currently has an s-trap and goes straight down into the basement. There's a nearby branch off that basement level piping that goes up to a roof vent. We never get gas smells from it, but it always gurgles when running the sink or dishwasher tied into the same drain.
So two questions - was venting like this ever normal/common? It seems like it would never be effective. Is converting to a p-trap and adding an AAV a reasonable fix, or does it sound like there might be something more going on?

I'm in the US, price range is up to $400.
I'd like to get something with a long (~3m in length) wire so I can walk around (1/4" jack to connect to my audio interface), closed-back, and long lasting. I'm mainly going to use them for gaming/media consumption, but I have dabbled in audio editing/recording before.
I have looked at Audio Technica and Sennheiser a bit. I currently have ATH-M20Xs that I've used for about 5 years. They're alright, but I want something a bit more...robust? Maybe "better quality" is a better way to say it.
I first thought of getting the ATH-M70X, but some reviews said they're just as good as the M50X and don't justify the price difference. For Sennheiser, I was looking at the HD 620S.
Any advice is appreciated.
