Looking for a storage solution. I'm honestly looking at tackle boxes at this point because no jewelry box I have found will accommodate as many flat backs as I want. I've been using little leather tags with holes to organize my studs, not sure what to do with hoops.

2024.11.29 16:26 TreeTrunk3689 Schedule help before ST at 4months
Baby will be 16 weeks this coming Tuesday and 4months on December 13th. Current schedule is wake around 7:30, bedtime 9pm. He’s on a 5 nap schedule currently because he gets really cranky or will cry at the end of each wake window. I always try to make him go as long as possible each ww. Currently 1.25/1.3/1.3/1.4/1.5/2. Most naps are 45mins, but I can stretch up to 1.5hours for 1-2 naps per day, depending.
He used to sttn (1-2 wakeups to eat and back down easy) up until 2-3 weeks ago. Then started waking more and has had a couple split nights where he was awake for a half hour or hour randomly (happy). It’s harder to get him back down now too and can’t just feed him to sleep, he needs to be bounced again. I know he’s capable of self soothing, he sucks his hands, rubs his face, moves his head back and forth and whale tails. And I’ve seen him put himself back to sleep on the monitor a few times, but it doesn’t always work.
The hardest part for me is the yoga ball sleep association. It’s killing all of my joints, I feel like I’ve aged 20 years in 3 months from all the bouncing (night + naps). I plan to start with gentle methods, but I’m open to Ferber or CIO in the future if we need to.
Please! Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

2024.11.29 16:26 veeforty Warning about brake shoe wear at 2nd service appointment
Brought the car in for its second service appointment a little beyond the suggested interval. Paid $300 Canadian rupees and was cautioned that the rear brake shoes were down to 5mm and that I should be thinking about replacing them.
I drive in B mode all the time, and wasn't too excited that shoes would need replacement more frequently than tires. Get home, check google, and it appears the thickness of new shoes is 4.5mm. The manual doesn't have specifications for brake shoes or pads.
Moral of the story: schedule service appointments for the end of the day so there's no time to do recommended work.

2024.11.29 16:26 ThrowRA_MrMom I (M44) have been in a loveless 18 year long marriage with a wife (F42) that is into her career and uses me as Mr Mom. What are my options?
Basics on them marriage: married since 2006. We were both international students in the same US university and we met at a social. Hit it off instantly. She is black African and I am South Asian. We're both atheists. She is a research scientist while I am an engineer that is self employed. She works at a major research organization.
We both earn high incomes. As a household we're probably in the top 0.01% in Africa, top 1% worldwide and top 2% in North America.
We have 2 kids, 16 and 14. I have been self employed and have been working remotely since 2010. Being a guy that never had to go into an office for over a decade I started raising the kids while my wife worked at labs/offices. She is a highly ambitious and successful researcher. She has frequently changed jobs during the course of our marriage, often with the goal of getting to a more prestigious organization, or to lead cutting edge research (and nice pay bumps along the way). I like my work but to me it's work. Over the years our income gap has reduced. Now we're earning very similar amounts and I think in a decade she will likely earn more than me.
We moved continents not just countries for her work. I have only had to adjust my time zone. For the last 8 years we've been in Africa. Kids used to go to top private day schools with eye watering tuition fees and the last 2 years both are in private boarding schools
My wife travels a lot for work. Typically she isn't home 50% of the time (gone for field work or conferences etc). As anyone can guess the stay at home dad started filling in mom's role as well.
I have been the dad, and mom to the kids and often times night nanny, and the man that cooks and helps clean and ensures the home doesn't look like a hurricane ran thru it.
I've fortunate that the kids are intelligent and intellectually curious whose personalities complement mine. As the kids have grown they have become my best friends and I enjoy doing things they love and they share in my interests and hobbies equally. Due to her long work hours and time away from home, my wife has become an outsider in her own family. The kids ask me to cook them their favorite meal, I doubt she even knows what their favorite foods are.
Our sex life started as porn become reality. It was great in every way. We were matched equally. But over time the quality and quantity of sex has greatly reduced. Even ignoring the time that she isn't at home, the amount of sex we have had gone from 3-5x a week to once every 10 days. Adding in the fact she is away we probably do it twice a month, 3 in a good month.
I'm more or less certain she has had sex outside our marriage. I don't have any direct proof like text messages or photos but once you've been married to someone this long one just knows. She always claims she is a "nympho during ovulation", yet she doesn't take advantage of me when she is home and ovulating. Kids might have been an excuse in the past but now with them in boarding school we should be christening all rooms and surfaces in the house. But our sex life is underwhelming no matter what phase of her menstrual cycle we're in.
I am a great father but I am no saint as far as my marriage is concerned. I had two short term sexual affairs in the last 2 years since the kids have been to boarding school.
I think getting a divorce might just end this somewhat sham of a marriage. Despite any affairs she might have had and the ones I had which were purely sexual we have not betrayed each other with finances or used the kids against the other. To outsiders we're the perfect couple, good kids, great careers, still attractive to look at despite hitting our 40s. But the reality is that I wait for my wife to leave so I can be alone and can indulge my sexual fantasies by talking to single women on dating apps.
I guess we both have more to lose from divorce than anything to gain..financially we're mostly on equal footing so neither of us will be entitled to any financial support from the other and the kids will likely be with me, both because they would want to live with me and also because they would greatly hamper my wife's career if she took custody.
A divorce would make us free to be with other people, but even so any love can be equally ephemeral. Infatuation disguises itself well as love and getting divorced for sexual adventures seems foolhardy.
I am wondering if I should let us continue along this path where we're responsible parents to our kids, socially seem to be a power couple and stay out of each other's business so that we can have an open marriage despite having not talked about such an arrangement?
Sometimes I feel like leaving other times I feel like everything is ok. We have more than most people and my sexual needs can be discreetly addressed without destroying all that we have built in the past two decades.
Maybe I am not thinking correctly about my situation? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

 | While I am waiting for functional Exakta body to arrive (yes, i know it's not the best for analog beginner) i was trying to find out if i could use m42 lenses with it. Internet says no, because the Exa to m42 adapter woud have to be less than milimeter thick, if i understand correctly. So I decided to try something. I removed Exa mount, just 4 screws, and put m42 mount from dead Zenit TTL in it's place with threads going "out" instead of "into" the body. From what i can tell by looking into viewfinder it seems to focus well ? i guess? the viewfinder is kinda ... grainy but aiming it out the window it seemed able to focus on buildings hundreds of meters away. From what i was able to find, m42 lenses mount like 0.7 mm further than Exa so ... Is it possible that this actually works ? Im unable to test it with film for now and I'm not sure i can measure it precisely enough. Il titolo è un po' click-bait, lo ammetto. Mesi fa, a primavera, ho iniziato a frequentare una ragazza, chiamiamola "ragazza 1". Non abitiamo vicini, quindi ci vedevamo ogni due settimane, le cose andavano molto bene, sia a letto che fuori. Siamo molto compatibili anche su argomenti di cui parlare, dove andare a mangiare, cosa guardare in tv, tutto. Non c'è mai stato un momento di tensione/discussione, tanto che la cosa stava diventando seria per me. Finché, a una certa, l'ho definita "la mia ragazza", quasi scherzando. Lei ha risposto una cosa tipo: "perché dobbiamo rovinare questa cosa bella che c'è tra noi?". Gelo. Ne abbiamo parlato un po' e ho capito che per lei voleva un rapporto così, dove ci vedevamo ogni tanto, godendocela, ma senza farla diventare una cosa seria. Abbiamo continuato a vederci anche se i contatti in chat sono diventati sempre più rari, praticamente solo per metterci d'accordo per vederci. D'estate abbiamo passato dei bei giorni insieme, dopo però la cosa ha iniziato a incrinarsi perché ci sentivamo sempre meno spesso e ad un certo punto mi ha detto che per un mese o più non ci saremmo visti perché aveva da fare/viaggiare/etc. Stava vedendo anche qualcun'altro? Forse. Boh. Do per scontato che non ci vedremo più.
Ho iniziato quindi a sentirmi con un'altra ragazza, diciamo "ragazza 2", più giovane, corpo da favola. In questo caso, intesa sessuale top, ma quasi zero intesa per il resto. E' carina e sempre gentile ma è sempre difficile trovare argomenti di cui parlare. Quando le ho chiesto cosa cercava, lei mi ha risposto testuali parole "un partner sessuale". Io chiedo: ma ne hai altri? E lei: al momento no, ma a me non dà fastidio se ne hai altri, purché fai sempre controlli (e io lo faccio) e lo fai con persone fidate. Ok. Bene, almeno siamo stati chiari fin dall'inizio.
Più o meno dopo la seconda uscita con ragazza 2 (e dopo che abbiamo anche già fissato terzo appuntamento) mi risponde, con tot giorni di ritardo, una ragazza (ragazza 3) che avevo contattato più o meno quando avevo contattato ragazza 2 ma non mi aveva cagato. Risponde "scusa ero impegnata bla bla". Insomma, iniziamo a parlare tutti i giorni, intesa pazzesca. Parliamo per ore in chat, e andiamo daccordo su tutto. Mi manda foto, facciamo video chiamate, mi piace da morire. Non l'ho ancora vista mai di persona (perché pure lei abita lontana e per vari motivi non riusciremo a vederci se non poco prima di Natale) ma il mio piano è già quello di dire a ragazza 2 che non ci vediamo più, e nel caso scrivesse di nuovo ragazza 1, anche a lei dico che è meglio interrompere.
D'improvviso però, colpo di scena. Ragazza 3 mi tira fuori questo discorso: sai, volevo dirti che per me, prima che una relazione diventi esclusiva, passano almeno 6 mesi. E io: cioè quindi vuoi dirmi che per ora te vuoi una relazione aperta? E lei: in pratica sì. Facepalm.
A quel punto non ho più cancellato l'appuntamento con ragazza 2, anche perché mi stanno venendo dei dubbi che poi ragazza 3 mi vorrà davvero incontrare.
Non solo, mi riscrive pure ragazza 1. Non ero per niente convinto di vederla, ma lei mi dice: dai è tanto che non ci vediamo, mi manchi, vediamoci almeno un'altra volta. Accetto, e non solo ci vediamo, ma stiamo da dio. Peccato che mi ha già detto "prima dell'anno prossimo non so se ce la facciamo a rivederci".
In pratica, io che non sono mai stato in relazioni aperte, ora mi trovo in mezzo a tre relazioni aperte. Ok, la terza forse è prematuro, perché ancora non ci siamo mai visti, ma è quella che mi piace di più, quindi se c'è modo vorrò incontrarla. Però mi piacciono tutte e tre e alla fine provo affetto per tutte e tre. Una roba che non mi era mai capitata. Dopo che avrò visto ragazza 3 poi deciderò che fare. Intanto, prossimo appuntamento è con ragazza 2.
