Rant time. Hells bells was I angry at myself yesterday.
When considering buying a book not on KU because of positive reviews from Reddit, do not just go by the free sample of the book on Amazon. Go to Goodreads and pay attention.
I love cyborg smut. Unfortunately in my voraciousness, I have read almost all of the popular series out there, and now need to start digging for authors I am not personally aware of yet.
The book in question: {Burning Up Flint by Laurann Dohner}. Folks here were saying how good of a writer she is, and how good her Cyborg Seduction series was.
So I went over and read the sample from Amazon, and was like, ok, the sample ends with him demanding that she remove her clothing right after taking her from the ship she was on. Maybe the scene isn’t going to be that daft right off the bat, you know? I mean, there’s no way he’s going to rape her.
I was wrong.
Not only that, she is seduced by his raping, and at the end of it wishes for a cuddle.
Dude, what?
I scurry to Goodreads, because ain’t no way this sub would steer me so wrong so quick and nobody mention about all that, and lo! Goodreads confirms not only multiple instances of such tomfoolery, there is no grovel.
Yes, I dnf’d at 19% on a no -KU book and am angry at myself for the wasted money. And unfortunately won’t take a chance on this author’s other books.
This book legit has a lot of 5 star ratings here and on Amazon. Which just reminds me that we are all different individuals with varied tastes and thresholds.
Now I’m reading a Ruby Dixon Risdaverse book 1 to try to scrub my ANGERRY out my brain lol (and I’m not a super fan of RD but I respect that her books mostly keep to a certain tone.)
Thank you for allowing me the mental space to vent here. I love you guys. We are all different. Please, if you are a sci fi romance author, we need more good cyborg books thank you. 🙏

As someone who doesn’t use the mic or haptics on the DuelSense, I’d rather the controllers just be a bit cheaper. Having to shell out $100 in Canada to replace a controller with stick drift is a bit rough. I saw a leak of the DuelSense 2. Obviously take it with a grain of salt but looked like it had a screen on it. That’s gonna be expensive…

Hi all, have kodi with xenon build -umbrella skin, since the RD been shut down nothing is working for me in kodi nor streamio (keeps shutting down on its own).. but I can still see some people that says it works for them, can someone help? Ofc I get error codes that I don't understand. Maybe I tampered with scrappers settings too much?

 | I'm visiting London for a couple of days and have been walking around various parts of the city. I ended up in Soho and spent a couple of hours going through some of the record stores there. I think they were great and had a really nice mix of records and even cassettes! These are just the small amount of records I knew I could fit in my bag on my trip home but I found so many records I wanted... For example I was really happy to see 5 of Rancid's albums, but sadly not my favourite and the one I really want. I never find any Rancid albums at home! Anyways, this is the odd mix of records I bought. Hello, I recently upgraded to a new router (Deco BE65 pro). It’s working great, but I noticed I am unable to connect my Trane ComfortLink II XL950 Thermostat to the new network. I have tried everything (creating a separate IoT network; tried WPA2, WPA, WPA2/WPA, and no security; disabling 5 GHz and only using 2.4; and turning on/off beamforming and fast roaming; rebooted the devices between changes, too).
I know the thermostat is a legacy model per Trane. It can see the new network, it just cannot connect with all the changes I’ve tried.
Does anyone have other suggestions or setting tweaks I need to make on the router to get it to connect? Thanks for the help!

39F, no chronic illness PMHX ankle surgery 2003 & 2012, weight loss surgery in 2014. 6'2', 210lbs
Not really interesting or mysterious but I really want to fix my lower back pain... I have a very active job and lifestyle, plus getting ready to get pregnant. I dont want to be a hunched over old lady, taking fist fulls of NSAIDs to get through the day.
I've had mild left-sided nerve pinching pain that radiates down my left leg with some mild numbness and tingling. Until recently, it's just been mildly irritating but not limiting my activities, maybe a 2/10 pain. Now, for the last month, the pain in my left back/hip/leg has been getting worse every day. There was no triggering event that I can think of to aggravate it so bad. Its been pretty consistently 7/10 pain level. Worse when I'm standing or walking.
I assumed it was regular scaitica pain but went to a massage therapist who suggested maybe a hip issue d/t my hx of broken ankles. I went to my doctor and she ordered xrays and set me up with PT... but what is specifically going on and what is my best course of treatment?

So i made a pivot table based on raw data from company database that updates everyday. The pivot table does not update to reflect the changes in the underlying data. Only when i remove the filters and reattach it again does the data update.

Hi,
In my laptop (hp victus 16 e-0044nl --> ryzen 7 5800H and 3050ti) I have installed Fedora 41 with GNOME and after some tests I was able to make work nvidia driver just with x11 (I don't know why but with Wayland it lags a lot and even for the basic usage my 4k 60hz external monitor has an avrege fps of 30).
In x11 I have written that there is not the fractional scaling possibility (even If with Ubuntu I have found something similar), do you know if there are any solutions?
