2024.11.29 16:40 skulldud3 what are pieces like this called?

so recently made this in my art class, haven’t grouted it yet. i was going for a 3d mosaic landscape, and am gonna add some little props out of either clay or cardboard to the piece. i wanna make more like this, both mosaic and just painted ones (like how i did the base for this piece, but with a lot more detail of course).
is there a specific name for these types of pieces, or any artists with similar works? i’d like to see some references for future projects like this, but ive tried a lot of searches and ended up with nothing lol. my art teacher who’s also a professional artist is out til january so i can’t ask him unfortunately. any help is appreciated!

2024.11.29 16:40 Ladeda23 AITAH for not having a wedding until my father death?

My partner has always talked about getting married and having kids. Which I am very excited about. But the other day before thanksgiving. He kept saying how we should get married right now and I get off my birth control so we can have a baby. Of course we’re not getting married today and having a baby tomorrow. But it seems he’s getting very ready to start that chapter soon.

I always told him “if you wanted to marry me today I’d say yes, but I’m not having a wedding until my father passes away” he knows my history with my father so he’s fine with it. Plus we don’t have to break the bank to just get married. And instead we can have a nice vacation. Then have a wedding as an anniversary celebration. My partner thankfully isn’t the issue.
The issue is with my weird family dynamic. When and my mother was pregnant with me. My father cheated on her and spread rumors I wasn’t his child (spoiler, I am his child). So obviously my mother left with me and my older brother. I never grew up with my dad. Not because of my mom. But my father’s own choice. But I always was close with is side of my family. I love them all very much. And while my aunts and uncles understand why I don’t like my father. (I won’t go into details because that’ll take way too long) my little sister doesn’t.
Main reason why is because her mother is the woman my father cheated on my mom with. Me and my own mom get along well with her. She had no idea about my mom and dad until after she became pregnant with my sister and was already married to my father. BUT my little sister will never know the full drama of my father. Even though he was a bad dad to me. He was amazing with my sister. And I love my sister too much to ruin her healthy relationship with a parent. So just not inviting my father isn’t much of an option without breaking the silence that I hate our father. Also my older brother hates him as well. And will not be in the same room as him. Im sure he’d put up with it for my wedding, but why put all my loved ones in stress because of one man and don’t even know well enough?
Waiting until my dad is dead was never an issue but now he’s sick. His kidneys failed and had to get a donor kidney. But at his age the donor kidney didn’t take. He was put into a medical induced coma. Once he got out, he couldn’t speak or talk. Still can’t much but his health is deteriorating quickly. As much as I hate my father I hope for him to live a long life. Mostly for my sister and because I’d never wish death in anyone. But my family feels the opposite. They feel it’s now wrong to purposely not have a wedding just because my father’s alive. And they now have become more sympathetic to him because of him being sick. I did too until he speaks then I’m constantly reminded how I can’t even to stand to be in a room with him. I also want my brother to walk me down the aisle. He was more of a father to me than my own father. Seems my family expects me to have a change of heart because of him being ill. But I just can’t. We can’t even talk on the phone without him lying and letting me him cheating on my mom was “gods plan” and that “it’s what god wanted”. How he wants me to marry rich and be religious. I can’t stand it and I’ll be heart broken to have to deal with that at my own wedding. So AITAH?
TLDR: AITAH for willing be married but purposely not having a wedding until my father passes. Even though he’s on potentially on his death bed?

Best pack pull ive ever gone (couldn't resist black friday bunduru).
I've already got davante (untradable - from challenge while back) so that's obvious sell. Atm undecided on if to sell Heyward & Poyer (approx 7.2mil on market @10:30 cst) or use for while until I have a more obvious reason to sell someday.

I'm leaning toward keeping Poyer for while (believe his 96 speed would benefit since I run man coverage defense). Same with Heyward (his 98 awareness appeals since I use mixed strat for my DTs).
I guess the main question is whether or not their age (makes training a pain) makes them still worth it?

*For Ex -> 8hrs training (for while I sleep) gets Heyward to focus of 2. How much of a dif would he be vs say a spooky buckner with focus at 3 (i think thats what he gets with 8hrs)?

In menu and in-game it is stuck at 3fps for some reason, PC is newly upgraded and can run every other game I have properly. 4060ti, Ryzen 7 5700X, 32gb ram, & installed on an nvme. Used to run well on my old setup 1660s, Ryzen 5, 3500, 16gb ram, HDD. Any ideas why this would happen?
