2024.11.29 16:31 Feral_Princess6669 Battery light turns on but I replaced everything already
So, I have a 2012 vw passat, it works off a 2 belt system. I replaced the ac tensioner pulley, and the belt between that, the ac and the crankshaft, we replaced the alternator, and we replaced the battery. I didn't realize at first that the tensioner pulley and belt hadn't been put back on yet and ran it without them. Now, the battery light is on, my fuel gauge is acting up, and my blower only works on max. I have no clue what to even try to fix anymore and need advice.

I've been doing the whole Google Sheets thing for some time (4 years+) and I'd like something automated.
Also it always feels like I miss small transactions that add up a lot.
Are there any budgeting apps that can connect to:

- Costco Mastercard
- WealthSimple:
- Cash account
I saw some recommendations here for YNAB and Mint from 2 years ago. Are they still "top dog"?
YNAB feels solid but a little bare bones for visualization and Mint feels even worse. Monarch felt perfect but I see reports everywhere about them crapping the bed with Canadian Banks.
And I'm a bit paranoid about giving access to a plethora of apps access to my bank accounts just to trial.

2024.11.29 16:31 mediacenterkodi84 Love unraid but back to Ubuntu
So I recently did a post on upgrading my server and putting unraid on it. I love the dashboard and the ability to set everything up from their web ui.
With unraid, every few days my plex database would become corrupt. Plex data was positioned on the cache drive, nothing was ever being added to the server when the corruption occurred, it would just go corrupt. Got tired of running sqlite commands to fix the corruption. Would always be an indexing error. Smart check on my second of four drives in the array would never complete with no error. Ran disk check on the second drive and finished with no errors.
Switched back to Ubuntu, ditched the raid entirely and am just using LVM to bridge my drives together into a large drive in case I wish to expand later. There is no parity this way but none of the data on this machine is irreplaceable. Ran fsck on the drive I was having smart issues with and viola, holy shit were there inconsistencies. Let fsck repair it and smart test cleared on second drive. I have all the arrs installed natively on ubuntu. Overseerr running in a snap and I have an orangepi i use as an apache reverse proxy to expose overseerr to the net. I installed webmin and I use that as my dashboard on Linux. Very powerful tool if you don't want to he in terminal for small things. Been running for a bout a week now and haven't had plex database corruption once. Prior to retrying unraid I was running ubuntu for over a year with no database corruption.
Unraid is great but for whatever reason I didn't find it stable either on the stable version or the beta 4, things were just acting up. I dunno how big of a fan I am of slackware either which is what unraid is built on. Maybe in another few years I'll try unraid again. Thankfully I have one of their old basic licenses with lifetime updates and the option to upgrade to unlimited drives for 80 bucks if I ever want to.
Just sharing my experience. The database corruption only occurring on unraid with plex in a docker(linuxserver) is puzzling to me. With ubuntu finding filesystem errors when unraid didn't, I'm not too impressed with that either.

So I'm really on the fence about buying the ASUS XG27AQDMG. I've currently got an ASUS IPS that I was never truly happy with. But i've been exposed to the OLED world for all of 12 hours and could use some expert input here. The VRR flicker is a major concern to me but I figure with the black friday deals and good return policies I need to at least try one.
In my travels i've seen a good number of people say that no HDMI 2.1 is a "dealbreaker" because display port can only do x bandwidth. I'm just wondering if this is a genuine problem or not, especially for someone who only games in 1440p. Like why does the bandwidth matter so much, how does a low bandwidth manifest itself and will I care as someone who will likely never do 4k?
