I'm a stundent currently in the U.S. I have a good(ish) relationship with my host mom and sister but my host dad can't seem to stand me. Long story short we had a fight abt. 2 weeks ago about how it made me uncomfortable that he was always yelling. They are dominican and I didn't know that it was a part of their culture so I thought that they were fighting. This was the first time that I told them about something that made me uncomfortable. I think he took it as a personal attack on him and that I was trying to change who he is (NOT MY INTENTION AT ALL)
Now we went on a small trip for thanksgiving and it turns out that he thinks that I am comtrolling, manipulative and that I just complain and want everything to go my way. How do I explain to him that I'm not like that and to ask him to try to get to know me. I just played a training match where I got dash, side-step, strike’d into oblivion. Frustrating since I was mainly using it to try characters together and I basically didn’t get to play. Skill issue, whatever it’s still annoying. Then I played to Ranked games where I genuinely could not do anything. Inputs were thrown to the wayside in favor of my opponent’s team doing everything but turning my phone off. Vanishes were just me floating around, happy to get my ass handed to me; arts cards would toggle (highlighted) and then just turn off. Not sure what to do other than stop playing at this point. I’d like to be able to play the 1/3 of the game that I usually ignore but fuck, it’s not worth the trouble. Just frustrating.

I (24F) have been with my BF (24M) for 5 1/2 years, obviously we’ve had our issues as couples do but we have always gotten through them together. Over the last 2-3 months we’ve been fighting more and talking less, he has been in contact again with a former female friend who when we first got together continued to send him provocative pictures to the point he had to remove her from social media and his life. We’ve gone 4 1/2 years without her around and my mind was at ease, well we had a bigger argument (can’t even remember what about) mid September and he went to the store to blow off steam and ran into her, she recognized he was going through something and they chatted a little. Hours pass and she adds him on Snapchat and they begin talking since, he came clean to me about them talking saying it’s strictly platonic but he does vent to her about our problem because “she’s a female perspective that’s not one of my friends”. He also expressed he didn’t intend on ending the friendship with her. I’m kind of in my head because she disrespected our relationship before what reason do I have to trust her now? Am I Overreacting?
