so almost 2 years ago now i had a lumbar puncture and it was the worst medical experience of my life. i couldn’t sit up or walk for 10 days and needed a blood patch which took me going to 2 different hospitals before they would even consider giving it to me. the head pain from low pressure was the worst i seriously thought i was dying. anyway, i’ve been on diamox since but my blood tests are consistently bad on it and now my neurologist wants me to do another LP but i am terrified and really really want to refuse 😭 idk what to do bc she acts like i really need it but i swore to myself i would never get another one after what i went through the first time. idk 😩

My twins are officially 6 months old and have gone from sleeping great at night to not sleeping at all unless being held. They take 3 naps a day that are anywhere from 30-60 minutes (once they wake up from a nap they will not go back down) and their wake windows are generally 2.5-3 hours. Their naps are never an issue. They go down just fine. It’s just bedtime that’s a struggle.
We feel like we’ve tried just about everything and nothing is working. We’re at our wits end running on 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night if we’re lucky.
Here’s what we’ve tried: - putting them down drowsy but awake - nursing/rocking them to sleep and then transferring - letting them fall asleep in our bed and then transferring - Ferber (check ins made it so much worse) - cry it out (10 minutes in and escalating more so we went and got them) - pushing back bedtime - adding in an extra cat nap before bedtime
Nothing in our routine has changed. I’m guessing it’s just the typical 6 month sleep regression. They’re also seemingly going through some separation anxiety too… Their bedtime routine is pretty basic: diaper change, pjs/sleep sack, calm environment, nursing and book and then bed.
I should also note that baby A will sleep through baby Bs crying once she’s finally asleep. Separate rooms is unfortunately not an option at the moment.

2024.11.29 17:27 123chickenwings PNGs scaling up when uploading to Canva file, how to maintain proper scale?
I'm using Canva to put together interior design packages with millwork elevations and floor plans. It was the Client's choice to use this software for collaboration as I usually work in InDesign which doesn't have the same issues I'm experiencing with my images being scaled up when I upload them to Canva. I export my AutoCAD layouts to high quality PDF and then convert to a PNG with Photoshop since Canva blows up my PDF's and all of the elements become moveable and displaced in the wrong places on the page. So I am forced to do this extra step of converting into PNG first (annoying). And then for the cherry on top my PNG files are about twice the size that they should be once I upload and add to my Canva. I have to keep these drawings to scale, how can I do that? For best design practice, I should not have to adjust the image scale manually once uploaded into Canva.

So in Simulated Universe, the Nihility path is absolutely GODLY. Hear me out, in SU you have TONS more Nihility blessings, and the blessings are a lot more versatile.
Here's an example. Twilight of Existence: When attacking a weakness broken enemy, apply Wind Shear, Burn, Shock or Bleed for 1 turn(s). Like seriously. I only had 1 DoT character in my team, and that was Guinaifen. I was also rocking Fire MC, Welt and Yunli. And hear me out, I was doing 201K in pure DOT damage because of 1 2 star Nihility blessing!
When I hopped on to DU however, Nihility was COMPLETELY USELESS until I got Sampo. They didn't have Twilight of Existence, and the Nihility equations were built SOLEY for not just Nihility characters, but only the ones with DoT. I mean, there is AfterGlow worker and Jester of Annata that apply debuffs. BUT THOSE ARE BASICALLY SO USELESS.
We need to bring some SU blessings into DU so that Nihility can shine again!

Our GPU is a Gigabyte RX 6800XT Gaming OC, which we originally used in a mining rig for about 6–7 months. After retiring it from mining, we left it unused for 1-2 months in its box dry place. When the time was right, we decided to build a gaming PC with it, but we were on a budget.
Here are the main components of the build: • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 • MOBO: Asrock b550m Pro Se white • RAM: 21gb Kingston (from our prev build) • GPU: Gigabyte RX 6800XT (mining GPU)
Initially, everything was fine. But after some time, the system started experiencing black screens while gaming. We thought the issue was the power supply, as it was a generic 750W unit. So, we replaced it with a brand-new DeepCool PK750D (750W, Tier C on PSU Cult List). However, the black screen issue persisted.
The pattern is consistent: after about an hour of gaming, the screen goes black. The system doesn’t shut down entirely; RGB lighting stays on, and the fans continue to spin, but there’s no display. Restarting the system often results in no display output at all (even though the GPU is powered and fans spin).
We started troubleshooting further.
Things We Tried:
1. Checked Temperatures: During gaming (AAA titles like Ghost of Tsushima or NBA 2K25), the GPU temps stayed between 60–70°C, which seems normal. 2. Repasted and Replaced Thermal Pads: • We used Arctic thermal paste (spatula method) and new thermal pads (1mm and 1.5mm, correctly sized). • After this, we reinstalled drivers and cleaned the GPU pins with the eraser method. • Despite this, the black screen issue returned after 30-40 minutes of gaming. then again Restarting the PC resulted in no display output but it has power. Current Situation:
We’re completely stuck. The RX 6800XT still powers on (RGB lights on), but it frequently causes black screens during loading menu of the game, and right now it won’t display anything at all after just shutting down note that the temps is fine we stress test it already twice after the repaste and it reach between 60C - 71C did not crash or anything, just after i shut it down it won't boot again from the windows really a hassle
Any suggestions on what might be wrong or what else we can try? Could it be related to its mining history or something hardware-specific like VRAM or power delivery? Or its on last leg?

Anyone sleep on mattresses made from 100% natural materials?
In the market for a new mattress and want to invest in a good quality mattress that’ll last me a long time.
My issue is with the materials and how it affects me and the planet. I’m big on environmental issues, so the use of ethically sourced and sustainable materials is important to me. I want to stay away from plastics and other chemicals that are used in mattresses. However, I want to make sure I am not being greenwashed. For example, we get exposed to plastics from our polyester containing clothes, does this also happen when we sleep on top of plastic containing mattresses? How about the gasses it releases from foams and other stuff? Am I just being fear mongered with all this stuff? I want to make an educated decision before dropping money on a mattress. Yesterday my cousin showed me his <$200 bed. $80 for a cheap Amazon mattress, $50 for a cheap frame from temu and $50 for a plywood frame that would go in between. Seeing this made me re think about all this.

I remember buying this when it first came out. Graphics overall looked beautiful, but as expected the controls were still a bit rough.
I went back into the game today and the graphics, while a bit more polished. I can't put my finger on it but it looks worse.
Also when hitting trees or rocks, you don't feel the weight at all in your controller. No feedback of hitting a hard object.
Finally the game set me as 3rd person. I much rather play in first person.
