Heeeey Reddit Landers! This came up in conversation over Thanksgiving dinner. Where do the performers come from On the floats come from? Does each sponsor for a float have a casting call or use a casting agency and also the non-performers who sit/ stand and wave. Who are they representing and get chosen. Mr. Google does not seem to be forthcoming on the matter. I am not talking about the Broadway shows performers or Rockettes in front of Macy's. I hope everybody had a fantabulous Gobble Gobble day!

 | My mother in laws fridge isn't making ice. The ice maker rotates, door dispenses water. I was able to enter a diagnostic mode by holding "filter reset" and "control lock" for 10 seconds. I figured out how to cycle through and activate tests by using the +- and the power button, but I don't know what number activates what function (I think #8 shot water out of the door). The paper under the fridge has no information about diagnostic mode. I'm trying to activate the solenoid that fills the ice tray and to see what the ice tray temperature reads. I just need to rant. I’m so sick of my family being absolutely obsessed with weight. All of my life I’ve had to endure comments about my weight at every family function. When I was only 9 years old, my aunt commended me on my “discipline” for not eating the frosting on the cupcake… I just didn’t like the frosting ffs. Around the same age, my other aunt commented on my neck looking more “slim” and asked if I was okay. Like wtf. And then when I was in the height of my ED, at like 100 Ibs, I got so many compliments by the women in the family.
At thanksgiving yesterday, my mom and I were discussing pcos and some health issues I’ve had lately and she said I should get more exercise etc., but I’ve been exercising SO much! I’ve taken up a hot yoga class and I use my treadmill weekly. Then she said I should ask about ozempic. I’m like… Jesus Christ. For context, I’m 5’4 and 150 pounds. I could afford to lose another 10-15 pounds, and im working on it, but I feel like I’m not so massive that my weight should be the subject of someone’s concerns.
I just feel like unless I’m starving myself again and at an unhealthy weight, my family thinks I’m disgusting.

Minha vida toda eu sempre tive problemas de interação social, eu tinha melhorado MUITO antes da pandemia mas dps dela tudo foi de mal a pior. Eu entrei na faculdade já tem dois meses e eu nao fiz ""amizade"" com ninguém, a pessoa com quem eu conversava claramente estava interessada em outra companhia então estou sozinha, e o pior é que eu nem posso dizer que eu não tentei, pq eu tentei falar com diversas pessoas.
Às vezes sinto que têm alguma coisa errada em mim que as outras pessoas conseguem enxergar, acho que seria uma explicação plausível pra situação.
E nesse meio tempo já passei por vários estagios: achei que o motivo pra ninguém falar cmg era pq eu fedia entao eu passava perfume e desodorante maniacamente, dps achei que era a roupa entao tentei me vestir de outra maneira e nada nunca mudava, nao importa se eu estou sendo autentica ou não as pessoas só não me enxergam, eu posso estar na frente delas tentando puxar um assunto mas se tiver alguém do meu lado a pessoa não vai nem querer saber de mim.
E me cansa ter sempre que ser a pessoa que têm que puxar papo, que têm que ficar buscando assunto e pegunta enquanto elas dão um sorriso amarelo pra mim.
Estou me sentindo como me sentia quando eu era pequena e ficava sentada no recreio vendo as outras se divertirem, e pensar que eu jurava que quando eu crescesse ia ser melhor....
Acho que eu estou chegando em um ponto de esgotamento mental dessa situação, são anos e anos que eu não tenho ninguem pra conversar. Todo ano eu penso que vai ser diferente, que vai ser melhor mas no fim nada nunca muda! Não importa o quanto eu me esforce, não importa o quanto eu tente nada fica melhor...
