I'm studying in Italy and applying for a DS program. My GPA is 27.8/30, but my university doesn’t officially provide class rankings. Would it be appropriate to include a self-assessed ranking (approximately top 10%) on my CV?

I'm new to laboratory based research (started earlier this month) and have just had my fifth unsuccessful attempt at immunofluorescence staining in a row (getting too much background fluorescence)! My supervisor says it's normal to have multiple tries to produce good images and I have only been doing practice stainings so far to get used to the technique, but I can't help feeling deflated at my lack of improvement.
Wanted to ask you all - how long did it take for you to feel "good" at laboratory research?

I've taken two weeks off work to try to get this stone out. It's 5 mm and my first one. I was in such bad pain and went to ER twice in the first week but now have good pain meds. Last night was the worst of all. I couldn't stop vomiting and not sure if it was shock or what but I almost passed out from the pain and went white and just started dripping sweat. I was so scared so I jumped in a hot bath and luckily I kept one last pill of hydromorphone in case of severe pain. I was worried I was going to throw it up but the bath helped and once 20 mins went by I came out and took a few other pain meds. It was excruciating pain in my pelvic and urethra and radiated to my kidneys. I had the urge to pee and such pain but wasn't peeing. I thought maybe it was finally going to come out but no. I'm no longer in pain this morning but still taking T3s to keep pain controlled just in case. I hate how it comes out of nowhere but I've noticed the two times this week when the pains comes, I've gone to work quickly to do a few things because I felt okay and then bam I'm in pain. Is it stressed related? I just can't handle not knowing if the pain is going to come. I'm scared to go anywhere and I'm almost out of sick days for work.

 | Two summers ago, we had a couple of nights where we saw a whole matrix of white laser like lines that looked like this and they moved in unison. It was only visible at night. I couldn't get a clear video or picture of it. They just wouldn't show up like they did for the naked eye. Including what I could capture here. I promise these didn't look like regular condensation trails in person and haven't shared them till now because I don't feel like getting laughed at. In person, they all looked as crisp as the line in the last image. I never saw anyone post anything similar. The lines all crisscrossed and moved together in unison. The streams didn't dissapate and there were no airplanes to be seen. It happened quite a few times within a week or two and then never again. I think I may have adjusted the brightness and contrast on the pics because it was extremely dark when I took them. Here in Mexico there are some expressions used to proclaim a victory (I.e, a futbol Match, when you win anything relating to group activities, etc) that use some words and sayings relating to sexuality and rape.
It's common for people to say "te la metieron" whenever you have lost at something. Or when someone is happy about sports victories "se los violaron". And the like.
So I want to know, do your country also uses sexual abuse euphemisms to celebrate/ cry over a victory/ loss?

CAT 2022 : Started my CAT preparation in 2022 when I was in my final year, attempted CAT with 6-8 months of good preparation. Ended up getting 92%ile, decided to repeat.
CAT 2023- Took a drop for preparation, skipped almost every plan, gave my everything to preparations, was scoring overall 70-90, and 95%ile and above in IMS mocks. ended up getting 95%ile only (completely messed up my dilr section and little quants too) and scored 97.5%ile in XAT but missed the DM cutoff by only 3%iles.
CAT 2024 - Started working, the work was pretty chill, started my preparation again in the month of August, and was consistently into it with my scores being 70-90 again. Used to study with 2 people and we scored equal in almost every mock. They both scored 133 and 110 marks and here I scored only 57 marks which is even lesser than what I scored in thr previous year.
Is CAT really not my cup of tea? Should I change my career path?

Hi everyone In a few days I'll arive to florence and then I have to go to Luca for a work meeting. Since I land in Florence I was thinking about visiting the city but would need to leave my bags somewhere.
