To get it out of the way, I understand why we needed to replace incandescent lighting with something more efficient, and I agree with doing so.
The products we have replaced traditional light bulbs with have yet to do the job of a light bulb as well as the original. To me this is most apparent with colored Christmas lights. The white lights have improved to the point where I have a hard time telling the difference. The colored Christmas lights are atrocious. They are bright and harsh. They do a very poor job of replicating the cozy, warm colors I enjoyed most of my life.
I'm not sure if companies are unable to make decent looking colored LED Christmas lights, or if they have no incentive to do so since it seems most consumers are happy buying the awful looking lights available today.
I am going to be very sad when all of my colored incandescent Christmas lights finally reach the point where I can't use them anymore.

My grandmother told me tales of it, but my father always said it wasn’t real. Many don’t believe in the monster, but me? I’ve seen with my own eyes. It took my mother when I was barely 5 years old, and my father shortly after.
He tricks people, tricks them into believing he is isn’t what he is. And he is really, really good at it. Sometimes, he targets the weak – exactly who you’d expect. Other times, he goes for the powerful and wealthy, using the same tactics with different packaging. Convinces them to follow him and in exchange, they will receive the key to their problems. Or rather, they will become convinced they never needed the key in the first place.
It’s not all at once, though, he’s too clever for that – he slowly lures them into his trap. A trap so good that when you’re in it, it becomes easier and easier to convince yourself that you’re not in one. The monster has a way of making you feel safe - like it’s the rest of the world that’s the problem. So many have been taken by the monster, and so many more are under his rule – prisoners, right before our eyes. Some of these prisoners are clear as day, while others disguise their enslavement with elaborate stories and a bit of charisma.
The monster’s name is one that people sometimes avoid, because speaking it forces you to confront it – but also takes away its power. You see, the monster thrives on isolating its victims and fostering an environment for denial.
The monster goes my many names. I have always known him as “Addiction.”

2024.11.29 18:30 Tipper117 Finished soloing my way through the "Play the Part" commendation.
Man what a slog of a grind. Even if left alone, each 8 stack turn in was around 1 1/2 - 2 hours, give or take. Today's was longer with repeated attacks by other ships. Which is fine, I love fighting other ships while captaining the BB. But man did it have me on edge when two ships came after me on my way to the 8th ritual. Besides verdant bones, I think obsidian bones is the last one skelly cosmetic i care enough to focus grinding for. Maybe I'll try for verdant again someday, but I'd need 23 more 4 streak victories in HG, and I don't know if I have that in me. Lol. But for today. I rest. For play the part is done at last.

I've been trying anime lately on Netflix to pretty mixed results. My main struggle is definitely the overwhelming amount of content for an age base of around 8-13. I wouldn't mind 15+ too much, 18+ would be perfect.
I'm not asking for NSFW, just stuff that isn't as hard a watch as Black Clover 😅. Not picky. Tips to tell anime apart faster on part of target audience would also be much appreciated.

2024.11.29 18:30 Blindman117 On the Edge still bugged?
After the patch I was able to do all of the optional tasks to save Zalyissa. It then popped up with the steam achievemement for doing so. However, after right after leaving the village I got a quest update to return Zalyissa but upon doing so it checked the quest saying I completed the opjective but nothing else happend to progress the quest. Am I missing something or have others run into this issue as well?

The fact that they showed Verosika and Fizz worried had me sobbing 😭🙏🏾 and not only that it showed how much Fizz really cared about Blitz, think about it- if Verosika some how were close to a specific 7 sin like bee she would probably do the same thing as what fizz did in the scene, Fizz definitely has more of a healthy bond with Blitz but I still can’t help that she would do the same if she had a 7 sin or goetia lover / bff relationship

2024.11.29 18:30 Common-Board-4003 I love this game, however it has one major issue.
This issue is innate to community-driven games, and honestly, I’m not really sure how to deal with it. Most of the solutions I can think of just create more problems instead of solving the real issue.
Of course, I’m talking about the struggle to find decent games with competent squad leaders. All too often, my games go something like this:
- Join a server.
- Auto-join the losing team.
- Realize we're getting steamrolled—SLs barely talk, and the ones who do are clearly new.
- Check the enemy team. It's stacked beyond belief because players keep switching to avoid being on the losing side.
- This continues indefinitely until a large clan joins and shakes things up, or an admin steps in to forcefully balance the teams.
Even if you take on the role being the experienced SL you are to try and turn things around, the odds are highly stacked against you. People join the server, see the team is getting rolled, and repeat steps 1-5, it truly feels never ending.
I’m honestly at a loss for ideas on how to fix this. It’s a topic that’s come up here before, but it feels worse than ever across multiple communities. So I figured I’d open the floor to discussion and ask everyone's take on the issue, and maybe we can figure out a solution if we're lucky.

I literally don't even know how to feel right now. I'm currently visiting family for Thanksgiving and he passed this morning. I'm heart broken. I didn't even get to say goodbye. I cant even remember what I last said to him. I already miss him so much. And he was so young still. He was taken too soon. I love you so so much dad and I miss you so much.

2024.11.29 18:30 turbo_sc300 Xbox account link issue (please help)
Been playing on switch but got back into console today finally after a long time of not having one, however I opened Fortnite on Xbox in hopes it would give me the option to link my existing account and it created one for me, and linked that one to my Microsoft account.
When I try and link my actual account to Xbox live, it says there’s already an existing epic games account linked (but there isn’t) Microsoft said they can’t do anything and epic games won’t respond to my requests on their website. Has anyone else had this issue ?
