2024.11.29 18:40 Ok_Abroad2400 Does Slowpoke...suck?
Posted as few days ago on needing a 6th member on my Silver team (when fully evolved, will be Meganium, Croat, Heracross, Aipom, Slower + X) but the Slowpoke grind has been painful, it levels up slowly, has Water gun and confusion but its attack state is higher than sp attack and doesn't evolve until Lvl 37, does it suck? Is he worth it? Should I give up and get a Lapras/Gyarados/Lanturn etc? am I being impatient?

I'm still new to investing, and I had some questions regarding JEPI, it looks like it's an ETF that has 80% of it going to stocks and what not, and 20% is for purchasing "sell" options. And that the ETF only performs well in moderate markets. but loses in sharply positive or sharply negative markets. My question is, what's the point? I feel like over all youd end up losing out when your 20%/80% (whichever is losing out) could have gone to something else. Though as I said I'm young and uneducated, so, any info is much appreciated!

The thought permeates loam and wood, a hazy breath across waters before diving and slithering through cold earth to lap at the roots of mountains.

I can feel them waiting just out of ken, just past the veil, waiting, whispering, soon. The whisper becomes a wail becomes a bellow, demanding and insistent and violent, a full-throated rush of wind shaking the trees and tugging at my hems.
I pull my cloak tighter and keep my eyes downcast. Grandmother's cottage lurks ahead, a vague lump in the forest's mist, and her pie is growing cold. I have no time tonight for faeries and I sternly shout as much at the darkness.
The whispers recede, rebuked, and the breeze dwindles down to mere little plucks at my skirts. I sigh and accept the compromise. I approach Grandmother's.
Everything is wrong. No wood is chopped, no lanterns lit, no smoke escaping her chimney. The mist echoes oddly and rings out with murmurs -
...sister...
-which I ignore. I shift the basket to my left hand, grip my dagger with my right, all caution and nerves. Door opens. Eyes gleam. I gasp. A wolf.
Are you there yet, sister? The thoughts roar at me, driving me to my knees. Are you there yet? Have you seen what they have done? ARE YOU THERE, sister?
Another wolf approaches from behind, roughly grabbing my arm and twisting it behind my back. A third soldier comes into view from around the corner of the cottage. The air is acrid with smoke and the bitter waste of burnt herbs.
Witchcraft, they cry in justification as they begin to beat me. Witchcraft, they howl with spyful wide eyes. Witchcraft, they insist with closed ears and closed minds. Witchcraft, they claim, as excuse for their deeds.
Very well, I decide, if that's what they want. The mist gathers, time slows, the forest itself holding its breath as the faeries call to me and finally, finally, I answer.
Are you there, sister?
I am, now. Come to me.
And they do.
It is done.

Hi, has recently bought the official Google pixel 9 case and I'm kind of disappointed as I expected it to be thinner; it makes the phone considerably big which goes against one of the main reasons that made me pick the P9 (its size). Now I don't know whether I should return it or keep it as I'm not sure other brands really offer thinner cases than this one. Does it worth to try a different one or should I keep this one? Would I really appreciate the difference in terms of size by going with a different brand/model?

Almost 18yrs in, O3E. Some of the details: About to face a divorce and have 2 kids. OCONUS. STBXW refuses to leave the country and has begun applying for residency. The lawyer I have spoken with has told me the courts will typically side with the mother on custody or if we can come to an agreement on custody that is beneficial to the children, they will go with that.
I have orders to another OCONUS location for 3yrs. I've been on sea duty the majority of my children's lives, so when negotiating for orders, I chose shore duty because I obviously want to see my children. Once I received hardcopies, STBXW informed me she was going to pursue residency and would not leave.
I have reached out to my detailer, my ISIC and CoC have reached out to my detailePERS on my behalf, and they flat out refuse to shift my relief or a relief coming to another ship or to work something out for me in this location. Everyone I've spoken to about this feels it is in my best interest to stay geographically located, but as I said, PERS flat out refuses. I can't do 3yrs on the other side of the world from my kids. I won't do 3yrs on the other side of the world from my kids. I'm backed against a wall but I refuse to quit fighting or allow this organization to stand in the way of my relationship with my kids. Granted, she kinda did this as well when she decided to pursue residency. Seeing my kids a couple weeks a year during summer break, is not an option.
I'm trying to explore every option I have for separating from the Navy. I have a little less than 4 years until I am eligible to retire as an officer, but at this point I don't care about the money. I already know I can can get a GS job in the same location as my family. And with the divorce, i'm going to be working till I'm dead anyways. The important thing to me is being close to my children. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
