About two years ago I read a short historical fiction book about the Battle of Towton (during the War of the Roses) that included a character who was an archer. His father was killed in battle and he was finally able to get revenge by climbing a tree and shooting Lord Dacre in the throat. The book also covered the Battle of Ferrybridge, and it ended with the Lancastrian rout. For the life of me, I can't find the title of this book -- I don't believe it was authored by Boardman or Leonard James. It was an extremely exhilarating read and it wasn't heavy on the academics. It was recommended on Reddit but nothing appears in my browsekindle/public library history. Have any of you read it?

Hi everyone,
My precious piggy, Petunia, ate some aluminum foil this morning. We had leftovers from thanksgiving and I dropped a ball of crumpled up foil on the floor and she got to it before I could. She was running around and I was only able to get maybe 1/4 out of her mouth before she ate it.
To preface, she’s eaten slime, glass, baking soda, etc. So it’s not the first time she’s eaten something she shouldn’t have.
She is sleeping a lot which she normally does and I don’t see any signs of her stomach being upset. We have also had a stressful week with 30 people over last night so she could just be tired from that, but it’s worrying me.
The vet is going to be VERY expensive, however i am going to continue to monitor her to see if we should take her in.
What do you all suggest I do?

Hey everyone,
I'm planning a new build with the AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D and need advice on choosing the right motherboard. I’m planning to purchase a 5120x2160 OLED monitor once they’re released next year or the year after, and I aim to pair it with a high-end GPU like a 5080, depending on its performance and price at launch.
I am planning to use the motherboard for 5-8 years since I think that for this resolution I will be on a GPU bottleneck for a long time. And hopefully either the 9800X3D will last that long or there will be a better AM5 CPU in the future that I could upgrade to to get a few more years out of the motherboard. Therefore, I was thinking that the following features might be nice to have:
PCIe 5.0 Support
I’m looking for enough PCIe 5.0 lanes to support at least one high-performance NVMe SSD and ensure room for future GPUs that may utilize PCIe 5.0. Ideally, the motherboard would allow for a setup where I can run both a PCIe 5.0 SSD and GPU without compromise.
USB 4.0
It would be great to have USB 4 v2.0 to be future proof. However, I’m unsure if this is essential for my use case or if I can rely on USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 for now.
Boot Speed
I would also really like to have a motherboard with low booting times.
Budget:
I’d prefer to stay under €250, but I’m willing to stretch to €300 if it ensures future-proofing and avoids bottlenecks down the road.
Any advice on which motherboard to get and whether the features I listed are even necessary are welcome!

This vent is from years ago but I had time over the holiday to be reminded. During high school I was bullied constantly especially by one guy in particular. Years later I found out when I went to college one of these guys started dating my sister. I later confronted him about it when I saw him, and got my ass handed to me.
I still think about time to time, but when visiting home and family for the holidays it was thrown on my face more then ever. Thought I would use this forum to vent.

I was doing some sunny meadows Nightmare runs with a friend and we got a Deogen so it was pretty easy to identify and all, but we wanted a perfect game and had an emf objective. I set up some salt, firelights, and throwable objects on and around the desk in the Manager’s office with an emf reader and even though it stepped in the salt and threw the clipboards and items on the desk, it never gave an emf reading, like at all (never blew out any firelights during the hunt). Do these not give any emf readings during hunts like they would as normal interactions?
(Also for your entertainment figured I should mention my idiot self clipped a chair while looping and died lol)

22.8 miles…and the instrument screen said there was still 5% battery left. I wonder if they do that so you can still have the lights on?
And since there are so many variables that go into these numbers…
This was in Nashville TN, which is quite hilly. 646 feet elevation gain during the ride. I kept my speed up while riding with traffic 27ish mph. And was at 15-18mph on most of the greenway.
I went across downtown Nashville, involving a fair amount of start/stops. Then down the greenway. I did have to pedal start on 2 steep hills to get started from a red light.
It was 38F when I left the house and 44F when the battery finally stopped propelling me.
I was not running the headlight and I did not have anything plugged into the phone charging port.
And lastly I am 6’0”, 315lbs, with wide shoulders, and had about 20lbs of gear and an extra battery in a backpack.
I did this for my own knowledge but thought someone else might be interested too. My wife and I just bought these and I had 58 miles on mine when I started this little test.
