Will reuse several extra internal drives for backup & storage of files (e.g. WD Black 2TB Performance Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s, WD Black 4TB Performance Hard Drive - 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 3.5" - WD4005FZBX)
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
MS Office apps (Excel, Word) and Adobe IllustratoPhotoshop/Dreamweaver, but generally multitask with music, streaming, Tableau/dB work, some light gaming (XBox COD, Battlefield, Forza), Steam (Crusader Kings, Left for Dead 2, Dark Souls), No overclocking planned.
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center? USA. Probably an hour away so may/may not be worth the trip
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) Dual monitors, currently use 2 x24”. Probably won’t unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) ~$2000 +/- 200 max
• WiFi or wired connection? Both
• Size/noise constraints? Prefer a midtower configuration but full tower if necessary for traditional disk drives and/or graphics card (see below). Maybe something like the Fractal Design Pop Air RGB Mid-Tower Case.
• Cololighting preferences? Colors visible from glass case/through the front fan or that ability to select a color scheme for fun/atmosphere. If a single color, prefer blue or multicolor over green or red.
• Any other specific needs?
Want to reuse two traditional drive bays for CDs/DVDs/blue ray/light scribe rather than an external (see above)
Top/front accessible USB-A, USB-C ports if possible

How the fuck do you get the old connector out? It’s so frozen in place I think I have to pull the plenum off to get enough access. Am I missing something? This should be super easy but access is making it literally impossible.

2024.11.29 19:30 Rum_RuM_ For a Krieg Release, I feel like we’re losing a lot.
Before anything is said, I first and foremost want to say that I’m very happy with the Krieg releases that were shown during the stream on the 22nd. I’m extremely excited to see my favorite faction getting the modernization and support treatment, (even though I personally prefer FW Krieg), as Krieg is my first army and the one I’m currently collecting. However, with the codex releasing soon, I can only feel somewhat upset about what we’re going to lose. From what I’ve heard it sounds like we’re going to lose all of our imperial armor to push new sales (and dorns). While I understand why they are doing this, I can’t help but be upset at losing all of our (what I believe to be) coolest units; even if they are bad for business and game. Krieg is and always will be from FW in my mind, and to lose almost all of our FW range without a suitable replacement to EVEN just the Krieg related FW models, I think is a mistake. I mostly refer to the Hades Breaching Drill, Artillery Carriages, DKOK Marshal, and Macharius tanks. These units in my mind are uniquely Krieg, and I’m sad that instead of being put in the spotlight for how they are, they’re being buried forever. All in all, this is just a post for me to vent my frustration so I can enjoy what we are getting, despite losing what is our coolest units. Thank you.

I have a CM 8” or 10” from 5 or so years ago and haven’t ever really been happy with it. Too much play in the chuck, but I only use it for wood so it hasn’t really been an issue besides throat depth.
I would like to get the Bauer 12” or 15” because I want to drill some big brass rounds to make some mallets.
I almost bought a bigger CM a year or so ago when they first came out with the Bauer because it was so cheap and a floor model. But couldn’t think of a way to explain it the wife. Hence why I ask about sales times. TIA for any insight!
