THIS IS MY THEORY FOR THE FIRST FEW EPISODES OF SEASON 5:
The story picks up approximately seven months after the end of Season 4, placing it in roughly October 1986. Hopper, Joyce, Will, Jonathan, and Eleven are shacked up in Hopper's cabin, having fixed it up over the summer. Will has been getting a new type of now memory, yet now they're of Hawkins in ruin. He is seeing the future. Everyone else is still in their family homes, apart from Ted, who was persistent on moving. He moves and takes Holly with him. One day, Vecna, disguised as Henry Creel, takes Holly Wheeler from Ted and begins to manipulate her. Ted reports to his family, as to which Mike and Nancy hear Vecna's description. This initiates the return of Vecna to the gang.
Max has been in her coma for the whole time since Season 4, but since the disappearance of Holly Wheeler, she's been more responsive, and her brain activity is more stable. Lucas has fixated all of his attention on being with her throughout the summer.
The US government is yet to find Eleven and is convinced she is hiding in California. They will not find her until the final episode when they realise that they need her. At this point in the story, the gang decides to tell the Wheeler parents everything. This is so they can use the basement as a shelter again for Eleven when the time comes. It'll also serve as a home base for the war to come. Karen argues to keep the kids away from it all but gains reassurance from Hopper shortly after.
Joyce fears telling Hopper straight away, not wanting him to become involved or to lose him again. During his unknowingness of the situation, we see him back as the chief. This takes us to a mysterious déjà vu moment at McCorkle's farm in the same pumpkin patch from Season 2. The vines are alive again. Hopper tells Joyce right away, and so Joyce tells him the truth about Vecna's return. This forces Hopper's heroic ideologies to reignite as he searches for every possible way to protect his family. They take Eleven straight to the Wheeler's basement, where Mike has prepared a bed just as he said he would in Season One.
It is here that (a severely depressed) Dustin, Jonathan, Steve, Nancy, and Robin head to investigate the farm. Steve tries to reignite Dustin's spark by bringing him out to explore as they used to. He just isn't the same and seems slightly colder. It is here that Holly is fully taken mentally by Vecna. All of his focus goes to Holly, who becomes a spy, similar to Will in Season 2. It is at this moment that Max wakes up, not blinded fully. Her eyes can only see TUD, but she is in the real world.
Vecna takes Holly to The Creel House and lays her where he was last seen at the end of Season 4 by the porch/front door. She is then found by someone walking by who takes her to the station. Hopper takes her home. It is here that the spy begins her operation. Will's feelings for Mike are growing, and it's been months of waiting for an answer, which he can't ask the question for. The two hardly talk for the first few episodes as Will finds it too hard. Their relationship/situation is further explored and concluded in Volume 2.
Volume 1 will conclude with a new Spy’s presence in Hawkins, Will’s prophesied visions of destruction, Vecna’s return, Max’s awakening and new power, the Steve-Jonathan-Nancy Love Triangle and the Byler unfixed relationship all waiting to be resolved in Volume 2.
I don’t make films or tv so please don’t come at me. I just love theorising about my favourite things. Let me know what you think :)

2024.11.29 21:42 EdoF_1411 70-350mm or 55-210mm? Which one do I go for?
I've just bought a Sony A6400 as an upgrade from an old, entry level Nikon DSLR, and I'm now looking for a telephoto lens to get for it. My main passion and focus is on motorsport, pretty much anything from rental karts and racing karts all the way to GT and Formula cars, and therefore I definitely feel the need to get a telephoto lens.
I've narrowed down my choice to the much older 55-210mm "kit lens" which I could get new for 199 or used for around 150, or the 70-350mm which is currently on sale on Amazon for around 620.
I really don't know whether the 70-350 is actually worth it, buying the "kit lens" instead would leave me with plenty of money to get every accessory that I need and more.
What do you think I should do? Make the investiment and never look back or go cheap and then perhaps upgrade in the future?

Auf der Seite steht, dass in Deutschland diese nicht verboten sind, weil sie eben nicht mehr als 0.03 % THC beinhalten. Ist das wirklich so und kann man da bedenkenlos bestellen?

2024.11.29 21:42 roomyverse Xperia 1VI to Oppo Find X8 Pro
O2 in the UK let me upgrade every three months, so I switched to the Oppo Find X8 Pro a couple of days ago, at least till the 1VII arrives, to see if the Chinese really are doing it better. Obvs, it's a mixed bag, but these are my first thoughts. Sorry they're so long. You win a bun if you get to the end.
Oppo Cons:
- The audio is comparatively horsesh*t. Streaming LDAC maxxed in dev settings through UAPP is the same, pretty much, but the speakers are appalling - the strongest firing sideways and the weakest firing upward, so split stereo sounds horrendously unbalanced. And they're loud, but thin - shrill, compared to the Sony. Their Dolby equivalent - called 'oreality' or something - is just not as smooth or wide through a dongle compared to the Sony's jack output. And no matter how I tweak the volume, sometimes it's either too loud or too quiet, whereas the Sony was always just right. Guess I've been spoilt.
- Build quality. The Sony's ridged sides and dimpled back give it a grip the Oppo doesn't have, and the Xperia feels more solid and superbly engineered and balanced. Plus, with the style case it would sit flattish on a table, whereas the Oppo wobbles a bit more on it's camera bump and feels comparatively cheaper, though it still feels thin due its tapered sides. With that slimness, though, comes a fragile feel the Sony doesn't have, even though the Xperia's lighter.
- No SD card and a screen notch. I've missed the SD card, even after two days. Having those 250 films on tap when you're in a dead zone is a boon, and they're there forever, a classic collection that's impervious to fickle streamer programming. Like having a DVD library in your pocket. And the notch is annoying on the Oppo, though flipping the phone upside down so it's on the right has put it a bit out of sight out of mind.
- The full rez camera mode is pointless. There's literally no point in having it. On the Sony, it's a total change of processing that gives really great, natural detail, compared to the jpegs. Yes, the HDR can be all over the place, but at least it does something. The Oppo macro also can't get anywhere near as close, though it at least has autofocus.
- The screen is better. it feels easier on the eye and, in Pro mode, looks quite accurate. And it seems to play nicer with streamers. Content on Prime and Netflix really shines in a way it never seemed to on the Xperia.
- Color OS works well. It's smooth and responsive with it's fluid animations, and the ability to change the theme (inc icon packs) on the fly via the theme store is refreshing, plus some of the AI photo editing stuff works - the reflection removal tool in particular. And it got an update on day one that improved the camera and added features.
- Performance is better. Snappy as hell - particularly app switching - but then it has got more RAM (and twice the storage) and a next gen SooC. Gaming-wise, Asphalt also looks nicer and plays smoother, though it gets warmer.
- Battery is on par, if not better, but charging will smash it. SOT seems great at the moment - around 8+hrs of heavy use - though it's very early days for the Oppo. I've bought a 50w wireless charger though, arriving tomorrow, and that should offer a juicing speed the Sony can't match wired.
- Cameras. I'll try to keep this short. The Oppo feels more consistent and natural, and details look more genuine if you zoom in, across all lenses (if a little too contrasty and 'flatter' at times). HDR is also better - less blown highlights all round, and less noise in all conditions. And, if you don't like the processing, in 'Master' mode you can tailor the jpegs yourself, adjusting sharpening, contrast, and saturation - and you can even add a variable vignette - as well as all the usual manual controls. But the main advantage is the zoom, beating Sony at anything over 2x, with the AI between 10x and 30x being surprisingly usable. Overall, better quality across a wider range, though I miss the quirky, DSLR feel of the Xperia's Bokeh mode and the occasional OMG factor of the 48mpx.
I'm sorry, I'm out of buns, so this probably wasn't worth it.
AMA if you're interested, but I hope the 1VII arrives rocking some fantastic sensors. I really do love Sony's swiss army knife approach and If they can make up some of the current shortfalls then I'd be tempted back in a heartbeat, because the Xperia still remains unique - oddball at times, but capable of genius.
