Hello everyone,
I am looking for advice about getting into saltwater aquariums. I have had freshwater tanks for over a decade now, just nanotanks, high-tech and low. In March my gf and I are moving to a grown-up house and I'll have a room to do my hobbies (gaming, miniature painting, sorting my ever growing mtg collection, aquariums) and I would like a nice reeftank. When I moved in my current place I needed a cabinet to have some storage space and thought I was clever by getting an aquarium cabinet that fitted perfectly and I could someday use for an aquarium.
Now I would really like a reeftank BUT the cabinet in question is one for a Juwel Rio 240, primarily a freshwater aquarium. The aquarium itself is probably not an issue although being less deep compared to specific saltwater aquariums (121x41x50cm). If not, I could always remove the top and use proper lights and put a jumpguard/net over the top. I think lighting is the easiest fix.
My main concern is the filter, or lack of.. I don't think the cabinet can fit a proper sump without ruining the integrity. The aquarium comes with a build in filter but I just don't know if that is sufficient, my feeling says no. I have read about people here using a cannister filter for their reef tank, that would fit perfectly in the cabinet. Or do I need a sump? Do I need a skimmer? I guess the answer is no, but I'm not sure how much I'm limiting myself. To start it's probably fine for a couple of clownfish, anemone and easier corals, but what if I want more later on, I'm afraid I would have to buy a new set-up anyway. Is it easiemore economical/more practical just to get a proper saltwater tank and stand or am I making all of this bigger than it is.
Any help and insight is much appreciated. I live in the Netherlands if that is of any help for product availability.

I'm thinking of getting my first camera to learn more about photography. I really like taking pictures with my phone, and I want to understand more about Aperture, ISO, etc. (I'm not really a video person)
Is getting a refurbished Canon EOS R100 with 2 lenses (RF-S18-45mm and RF-S55-210mm) for 300$ worth it for a beginner? I've read and watched many things about R50 being a far better option, but I can't find a similar deal with R50.

Hi! I think my fav cover of I Want To Live was deleted from youtube. I wanted to give it a listen after a couple of months but I couldn't find it. Unfortunately I don't remember the creator's name.
It was sung by one person. The singer had a feminine voice, was bald and had beautiful make-up. I believe they were singing in a white/ light-colored room. The sound of ticking clock was added to the music.
The creator had covers of songs from other video games on their channel as well. (Or at least I think.)
Does anyone have a link? Or at least recognize the creator?
It would be awesome if I could listen to it again.

2024.11.29 21:50 No_Preparation_1870 Are certain dinos more popular on certain maps?
I mainly play on Gondwa, as many do, but for the last few days I've been playing on Panjura and absolutely loving it. Yes, you can say that when you've seen one part of Panjura you've seen all of it, but I do enjoy that it feels like a single, massive prehistoric ecosystem.
But something I've noticed is that I see a lot more dinos there than I have on Gondwa. You're always going to see rex players regardless of what map, but I've seen more Alberta, Alio, Pachy and Allos than I ever have on Gondwa.
Which, I'm not complaining about in the least. It's refreshing to see Alio players for once since it's by far my favorite dino to play as and I'd rather see them than the six rexes, four eos and the occasional duck shoved into IC.
I've also encountered many kind players on Panjura including a sucho that not only grouped with me and my friend who were juvi allo at the time, but took the time to build a nest, adopt us and feed us.
And an allo that tried their best to protect my juvi achillo from a KOS group of pachy.
All in all, Panjura is wonderful, I'm enjoying seeing all these different dinos I rarely see on Gondwa and the people so far have been sweet.
