2024.11.29 22:00 GeEDirt3 A quel point le motif des retards de la SNCF sont légitimes ?
Bonsoir,

2024.11.29 22:00 Tigerlily12345678 I-693 because of missing COVID shot
My fiancé is here on a K-1 visa and needs a I-693 form. He was able to get his medical exam and was given most of the required vaccines need for AOS in his country before he came. He has a copy of his DS-3025 form but they didn't give him a COVID shot, they listed on his DS-3025 they didn’t have it available in his country. The form needs to filled out by civil surgeon and it's $400 fee.
I read online "Military physicians can perform immigration medical exams at military treatment facilities for U.S. veterans, members of the U.S. military, and designated dependents"
I wondering if there was any veterans or military that went through this process and had a similar issue and can provide some guidance or advice? Would a doctor at the VA could count as a military physician and if not would I be able to go to near by Air Force base to get this done? I'm going to make some calls to VA and the Air Force base once we're married, but I wanted to know if veterans have taken their dependent to a military base to seen? Or how that works?
We're going to get next month and I'm going to add him as a dependent and enroll him in CHAMPVA once we are married.
Just looking for other alternatives instead of spending another $400 on medical for him after I already spend $400 plus the price of vaccines for him before we came here because they didn't give him all his required vaccines in his country.

2024.11.29 22:00 Livinglifeg How hard is it to grow a Reddit community?
Hi everyone,
Over the past year, I’ve been on this incredible journey of learning about personal wellness finding balance in body, mind, and soul. It’s something I’m really passionate about, and I’d love to create a space where people can connect, share, and support each other.
But I’ll admit, I have no idea where to start when it comes to building a community here on Reddit. How do you do it? What makes a community grow and thrive?
If you have any advice, tips, or even just a bit of encouragement, I’d be so grateful. This feels important to me, and I want to get it right.
Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom. It means a lot. ❤️

2024.11.29 22:00 Puzzleheaded-Run9976 Feeling more black as I age
For context I am 21M and grew up in a very white area. Was always the only black kid on my teams and things I did at school. The thing is back then I didn’t see it as an issue and I think being around so many white people gave me a bit of self hatred towards my blackness. I went to college though in Philly and fun fact it is the biggest major city with a black majority. And over the past 4 years I found like everything changing. Being more intentional about being black in my style in my hair and it’s showing even more as I used to only really like white/asian women but it’s now really black and Asian. But anyway I was wondering has this occurred for other people who grew up in mostly white areas, do you feel more black and prideful of being black as you age?

2024.11.29 22:00 JeremieOnReddit Nov. 1963: Lee Harvey Oswald takes part in a conspiracy to assassinate president Kennedy
Let’s explores the hypothetical scenario where Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) did not act alone to assassinate president Kennedy, but instead was part of a conspiracy.
1. The co-conspirators The first thing is to determine what type of conspiracy LHO could realistically have been part of, and who his co-conspirators would have been.
If we study historical precedents, only one U.S. presidential assassinations has been done by a group of conspirators—the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865. All other assassinations have been done by lone individuals. The most serious attempts to kill a president (Reagan), president-elect (FDR) or former president (Jackson, T. Roosevelt, Trump) were also carried out by lone actors. These individuals were either mentally unstable or politically motivated.
The Lincoln conspiracy was a small one (only 8 people were convicted), and was also politically motivated.
LHO, for his part, was a 29-year-old secretive, violent and arrogant man. He was broke, couldn’t keep a job, and his marriage was in shambles. In short, he was a loser no serious organisation would have trusted with an operation as important as assassinating a U.S. president.
Therefore, the only realistic scenario is that, in this alternate timeline, LHO encountered one or two individuals similar to himself: losers, far-left extremists, and willing to resort to political violence. He could have met them as part of his communist activities. (Of course, for the sake of this hypothetical scenario, we will set aside the "butterfly effect" implications of inventing these characters.)
2. The point of divergence To avoid significantly altering the timeline of events, let us assume that Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) befriended these individuals after his attempted assassination of Edwin Walker on April 10, 1963. Had he met them earlier, they might have planned Walker’s assassination together, potentially changing the timeline even further. For instance, their involvement could have led to different outcomes—perhaps their arrest, or even a successful assassination of Walker, which might have eliminated their motive to target President Kennedy later.
By placing their meeting around April 1963, this timeline allows seven months for them to become acquainted, bond over their extremist views, and deliberate on committing an act of political violence together.
3. The decision In our timeline, the JFK’s assassination was opportunistic. The motorcade route happened to pass in front of the Texas School Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald had recently started working.
In this alternate timeline, if Oswald still secures the same job at the Book Depository (a position he obtained by random chance, and one that could easily be altered by the butterfly effect), the events might unfold differently. Once the motorcade route is announced to the public, Oswald could inform his associates, and together they plan the assassination.
4. The preparation: what would change? In this alternate timeline, Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) would likely have a better rifle. In our timeline, he was broke and could only afford a cheap rifle. With the support of accomplices, they could pool resources to acquire a higher-quality firearm.
LHO also wouldn’t need to ask a coworker for a ride to transport “curtain rods.” If his rifle were still at home, one of his co-conspirators would likely give him a ride instead.
However, since the Texas School Book Depository was Oswald’s workplace, it is unlikely he could have smuggled his accomplices to the sixth floor. Therefore, LHO would likely still shoot Kennedy alone from the sixth floor.
Where would his co-conspirators be? One might position himself in a car at the rear of the building to facilitate LHO’s escape. Another could be stationed at Dealey Plaza to monitor the situation, create a diversion, or even attempt to shoot Kennedy himself if LHO missed.
5. The assassination In our timeline, LHO had enough time to fire three shots, hitting the target twice and killing the president. Multiple reenactments by the FBI, television networks, and others have shown that the shots were achievable, with many performers achieving better accuracy than LHO.
With a better rifle in this alternate timeline, it’s highly likely that LHO would still succeed in assassinating Kennedy.
6. The aftermath In our timeline, LHO managed to escape the Book Depository and fled the area by bus. In this alternate version, he would escape out the back of the building and be picked up in a car by one of his co-conspirators.
LHO’s escape plan in our timeline was haphazard—he went to his rooming house briefly before leaving again. Meanwhile, the police quickly identified him as a suspect. When confronted by a patrolman, LHO killed him, fled to a theater, and was eventually arrested there after attempting to shoot an arresting officer.
In the alternate timeline, the aftermath would likely be better coordinated. LHO might hide at the home of one of his co-conspirators, or they could attempt to flee the area together. Nevertheless, the police would still likely identify LHO as a suspect and potentially uncover his accomplices.
This alternate scenario would probably end in a shootout where LHO and his accomplices are killed.
7. Conspiracy theories In our timeline, conspiracy theories surrounding JFK’s assassination have proliferated over the years, with many Americans still refusing to believe he was killed by a lone assassin. Would these theories remain as prevalent in this alternate timeline?
Of course, in this scenario, there really is a conspiracy. However, the presence of an actual conspiracy does not inherently prevent alternate theories from emerging—consider the persistent theories surrounding 9/11, for example.
So, what would have happened?
On one hand, the involvement of accomplices could provide the public with a clearer understanding of the motivations behind the assassination and the details of the plot. A group leaves more evidence than a lone individual, offering a more complete picture of the event. This clarity might reduce the appeal of speculative or exotic theories.
Additionally, if Oswald and his accomplices were killed in a shootout, it would seem less suspicious than Oswald’s death in custody in our timeline. And of course, at least one of the accomplices could have survived and confessed the whole thing.
On the other hand, several factors would still encourage conspiracy theories. Chief among them is the pervasive distrust of the government, which only grew during the Vietnam War (and was exacerbated by subsequent scandals like Watergate). – there is a reason many conspiracy theorists claim JFK intended to withdraw U.S. forces from Vietnam.
Sure, other high-profile killings, such as those of Martin Luther King Jr. or Robert Kennedy, have generated less conspiracy theories. But JFK was the sitting president, a young and charismatic leader, and a symbol of the optimism of the early 1960s—a time before the Vietnam escalation, countercultural unrest, and disillusionment with government set in.
It’s also worth noting that even in our timeline, where the evidence against Oswald is overwhelming (fingerprints, ballistic analyses, eyewitness accounts, etc.), a majority of Americans still prefer alternative explanations.
Conclusion: In this alternate timeline, conspiracy theories would still emerge, though they might not be as widespread or deeply ingrained as in our timeline. The extent of their popularity would depend on several factors, in particular: whether any conspirators survived to provide full confessions, and how much evidence clarified the plot.

2024.11.29 22:00 ajflo72 PNW storm is exactly why crypto is digital air.
I was without power for 5 days during the PNW storm that started on Tuesday the 19th. Without proper internet for 10 days. Worst storm in this area in about 30+ years. My biggest gripe about crypto has always been that if something happens to power or internet, it can't be traded and is worthless. That isn't a concern with silver and gold which make them superior. Well, the biggest gripe became the biggest confirmed truth during these last 10 days. (Not that I wanted to sell or buy any crypto.) It doesn't really hit home fully until someone goes through an experience themselves. Fortunately, I was prepped and don't own much crypto at all.
The other thing I noticed that was interesting, but crazy at the same time. Every single store, not just restaurants closed up due to not having power. So many rely on electricity, they don't even consider writing receipts with paper and taking cash or precious metals. Its as if they don't want to deal with the inconvenience of keeping track of inventory after the fact.
