Regarding quadweekly and quadriweekly, I like quatriweekly or quatri-weekly better. Quadroon and quadrant, for example, use quadr-as one-fourth, while quatrain uses quatr-as four; but the roots of all of them are closely related to words meaning four. In English, bi-weekly can also mean two times in a week so it should be clarified depending on the context. And while a "quincena" is purported to have 15 days, the word "fortnight" is what is shown to be used as a literary equivalent in English in several dictionaries. I suppose it was just that people started using them both ways until each method developed its own purchase. But the OED does comment: bi-weekly adj. (b) Occurring or appearing twice in a ——; as in (The ambiguous usage is confusing, and might be avoided by the use of semi-; e.g. semi-monthly, semi-weekly; cf. half-yearly adj.) – The prefix "bi-" comes from the Latin "bis" meaning "twice". Substituting for "bi-" we have: bi-weekly = twice-weekly; bi-annually = twice annually. Time for all of the English gurus to get together and settle this once and for all! There's nothing wrong with using weekly, monthly, daily or using once a [week/month/day]. For example using: To get booked into a daily service. We provide daily services. Services provided daily. Or: To get booked into a service once a week. We provide services once a week. Possible Duplicate: Are there any words I can use to disambiguate “biweekly”? Is there a term two designate a frequency of "every two weeks", like "weekly" for "every week". It's a great word. Besides the ambiguity of the words "bi-weekly" or "bi-monthly," I think that they are esthetically ugly and artificial words that detract from the English language. I like to keep my Latin and Germanic mixing to a minimum. Try "twice weekly," if "fortnightly" doesn't do it for you. "Hourly," "daily," "monthly," "weekly," and "yearly" suggest a consistent approach to creating adverbial forms of time measurements, but the form breaks down both in smaller time units ("secondly," "minutely"—perhaps because of the danger of confusion with other meanings of those words) and in larger ones ("decadely," "centurily," "millenniumly"—perhaps because until recently events ... Thanks jwpat7, the fact is I'd vote up your answer. One word appearing in two different questions don't make it duplicates. While one question could be about what does bi- stand for, my question is what better one word is there for 6 months like daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly. My guess it there might be one that I don't know of.

My newborn (1month today) poops once every other day. which the pediatrician says is normal if formula fed but she’s not , she’s breastfed. Also during the time time she hasn’t pooped she’s up screaming her head off. I got maybe 1 hour sleep the whole night. She hasn’t even slept herself and I’m assuming because her stomach is hurting her so bad. Can someone help? I don’t know what to do. I want both of us to be able to get our rest tonight and I hate seeing her suffer in pain. Should I schedule an appointment with her pediatrician ??

2024.11.29 22:00 ShortGirlinVegas Overnight my mac "reset" parts of itself

I have a 2020 macbook. I use it daily but only for online shopping and watching movies. I rarely download anything and the computer isn't damaged in any way. I did the Sequoia update a few nights ago and afterwards my computer was fine. I've been using my computer fine the last few days, with a couple sites always logged in (like Reddit).
This morning when I opened my mac, my password wouldn't work. No, I wasn't entering it incorrectly. Bizarre, as I've never changed my password in years. Eventually I just went through the steps to reset my pass. Then when I logged in, my tabs were closed and I was logged out of everything. I rarely have to enter my passes for Reddit, Amazon, etc.. but it was like I was logged out everywhere. Then a bit later I realized my fingerprint login had been turned off. I had to go through the steps of rescanning my finger. What is going on? Was my computer hacked?

Hello all!
So I've been playing jrpgs since I was a tiny child, and I've gone through most of the main stream type series. Examples being trails, final fantasy, persona, etc. However I've been wanting to play a jrpg with romance elements (even if they aren't as crucial or in your face) that's not as well know or liked.
I recently beat the swordcraft story games for GBA, and was hoping to get some recommendations for jrpgs with some romance systems or elements that are small or lesser know like that.

I’ve come into possession of my Great-grandfathers foot locker, letters, spoils etc. I’m diving in and thoroughly enjoying every detail. He was in Army Corp of Eng and joined at 35yrs old in 1943. He kept meticulous journals and notes detailing his work, travel, conditions of localities, enemy attacks… everything. He landed in Marseille in Oct 1944, worked his way up through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany… left Europe just before Christmas.
I’m still early in research phase but can anyone point me to website or company that could create custom map poster to highlight his ww2 experience?

It sat for 6 months and I have a new battery and I have no power to the instrument cluster. Based on my research, it sounds like it’s the ECU. I ordered a voltage meter and will be checking to see if I have power into the starter cilinoid and into the ECU. So if I have power coming into the ECU but not coming out, does that mean the ECU is bad? Any advice is appreciated.
