I’m here with my alt u/ClassicLiberal101 to answer that question in a battle between subreddits and explain why the university of Manitoba stands far above you trashy kids from Mac. First off, let’s talk about academics. Mac loves to parade around their Health Sci program like it’s the second coming of Einstein, but the reality is that it’s just a glorified degree factory for med school hopefuls. The rest of their programs? Mediocre at best. UofM, on the other hand, has a strong balance across fields — from groundbreaking research in agriculture and Indigenous studies to top-tier engineering and science programs. Our grads aren’t just one-trick ponies; they’re versatile and actually prepared for the real world. And let’s discuss the students. I’ve interacted with enough Mac students to notice a trend: an overinflated sense of self-worth paired with a glaring lack of real-world competence. It’s like they think the name “McMaster” alone will carry them, so they never actually develop the grit or skills to back it up. UofM students, meanwhile, endure -40°C winters, brutal workloads, and a campus cafeteria that could double as a biohazard lab — and we come out stronger for it. McMaster kids? They crumble at the first sign of adversity. It’s all hand-holding and coddling over there, and it shows. I’ve seen them panic over assignments UofM first-years would knock out in their sleep. They live in this bubble of self-congratulation, patting themselves on the back for being fine while we’re out here thriving under actual pressure. And let’s not forget the insufferable personality cult around McMaster. Every Mac student I’ve met has this nauseating tendency to make their school their entire personality. “I go to McMaster” — like, congrats? Want a medal? At UofM, we don’t need to cling to some overrated branding. We let our work speak for itself. So yeah, Mac kids can keep their overrated degrees and misplaced arrogance. 2024.11.29 22:50 Training-Power-8911 Worst of the worst?
FedEx initially said delivery would be made on Tuesday, 10/26. No show. Then tracking said it was being held at depo on Wednesday (so no attempt made) and to wait for updates. Thursday was Thanksgiving so I didn’t expect it yesterday. I get a txt this morning that it was on truck for delivery by 2pm. Then at 2:30 get a txt that it is delayed due to ‘operational reasons’ and would be delivered tomorrow (Saturday). Not holding my breath.
And to really get messed up, a package was left at our doorstep for a house on a different street and different house number! I’m guessing the driver had our address on their route but grabbed the wrong package and didn’t figure it out till they got back to the depot.
Are these drivers on crack cocaine?! Are they being pushed too hard by the damn execs making millions to provide bad service ?!
Whatever the reason, FedEx’s glory days of exemplary reliability are in the rear view mirror. They could take some lessons from UPS, which isn’t always great but still light years ahead.

I was pulled into a meeting today to talk about my recent performance. Over the last couple of months my work has been slipping a lot. I’ve been making near constant mistakes, forgetting steps that I know needs to be done and generally just being unfocused and uninvested.
This job is minimum wage, there is a 0% chance of moving up from where I am and it’s in a field I have no interest in (finance).
It was meant to be a temporary job until my graphic design career started (been applying but I’m on a break after the year of constant rejections).
I find the job so boring that it’s hard to stop my mind from wondering, just sitting at a desk feels so disheartening. I feel like ima achieving nothing. So my question is despite these feelings how do I put in the effort to do better. I feel so guilty for letting down the team and I know I need to change.

I’m an R4 based on low power ranks alone…I joined this alliance a few days ago, it’s a newer state. Been leading things like strategy and whatnot, but we’re also not the biggest in our area and I’m starting to lose some hope of standing up to the neighbors who already hijacked our fortress. Our chat isn’t super active and I’m realizing that’s a little important to me. We’re maybe decent on rallies and activity, we’re trying.
Got poached by said neighbor alliance. Their chat culture is great, they’re always active in world, I like their attitudes and they’re a lot stronger. Highest rank is Lv22 vs our 15. I want to take the invite an R4 sent me, but I feel bad for abandoning my current alliance, especially for the one that burned our banners and hijacked our fortress. Idk. Should I feel bad? There’s nothing inherently wrong with my current alliance, and I have some sense of loyalty to them, but I think I’ll have a little more fun objectively with the others. And there won’t be as much competition.

2024.11.29 22:50 Complete-Finding-712 Symptomatic with normal HR
Does anyone else ever get symptomatic from typical triggers like standing, activity, exertion, heat etc but still have a normal heart rate? Sometimes after I've really overdone it (like 1hr shopping in my wheelchair, I'm mostly couch/bedbound), I feel exhausted but my heart rate is actually normal, whereas my resting heart rate is normally way too high (80-110 depending on time of day). Other times the activity leaves me feeling better though. It all baffles me. I've had my heart tested to death with nothing cardiac coming up and was diagnosed a couple of months ago with a TTT, so I definitely have POTS and have no clinical evidence to suspect another cardiac cause.
