Do you think Alex Jones's sentencing was.. too harsh?

2024.11.29 22:32 Zeachy Do you think Alex Jones's sentencing was.. too harsh?

1.1 billion dollars for saying the sandy hook shootings were staged. Of course you should never say things like that, but hasn't everyone said stupid things before? You can argue that his words led his followers to harass the families of the tragedy, and you'd be right.
I'd understand any sentencing under 100 million, but 1 billion dollars is insane. If he gave 10,000 dollars a day, I'd take him 274 years to pay off his debt. His net worth was only about 14 million so it's not a proportional amount.. It just makes me think that the verdict was personal in some way

2024.11.29 22:32 Kelpful Queerness and Heteronormativity as dueling non-anomalous memetic infohazards.

I think the vocabulary of the SCP universe makes it possible to talk about political ideas with a unique perspective.
For instance, from a conservative perspective, the existence of gays is threatening. Conservatives spend money and energy fighting to keep certain ideas out of schools because they believe a child simply knowing of queerness is likelier to become queer themselves.
Conversely, the often repeated phrase “crush the patriarchy” alludes to a revolutionary war against an idea. The patriarchy as an idea is so potent and omnipresent that it justifies itself as "normal." A queer person might imagine many similarities between their lives and living in the world of SCP-3125.
Anyway, I think that horror naturally lends itself to thoughtful analogies about real world problems, and the SCP universe uniquely lends itself to discussions of queerness. I’m interested if anyone else finds SCP ideas compelling for the same reasons, or if anyone’s noticed other real world analogs for memetic infohazards.

2024.11.29 22:32 Creepy-Hunter-3448 Can the blood fix broken bones?

Not a gameplay related question, just a general one (I guess).
Okay so we know that the blood can heal wounds and help with diseases, but does it also fix broken bones? Like if I go into a clinic with a completely fucked leg, would taking the blood heal it up so I can walk around normally again, or does it only work on shit like flesh wounds and diseases? I have no clue how this works and am very stupid when it comes to lore, which is why I'm asking this.

2024.11.29 22:32 Ok-Brush5346 Iconic Old White Creature?

Iconic Old White Creature? I'm working on a old school cube and I wanted to include the most iconic early creatures that aren't on the RL (so I get em cheap). I know Negator, Morphling, and Masticore are cheap for RL cards, but I really don't want to spend more than a couple bucks for any card in the cube. My problem is that I don’t feel like white has another good option. Savannah Lions doesn't feel like a good fit. Can anyone who played at the time think of another strong candidate?

2024.11.29 22:32 PNags What to do with 1965 D12-20?

What to do with 1965 D12-20? Hi All - I have this beautiful sounding 1965 D12-20 that I would like to sell, but I have a conundrum. Specifically, this guitar needs a neck reset. What are your thoughts - should I have this fixed and then try to sell for it's "real" value, or sell it with the caveat/understanding that it needs a neck reset (and maybe a bridge), and just accept the inevitable discount?
Thanks!

2024.11.29 22:32 drakeredflame AWA Empower Month 1 Week 6

AWA Empower Month 1 Week 6
GM Beth Phoenix strides onto the stage to a wave of respectful applause from the audience, her reputation as a trailblazer for women's wrestling shining brightly. Microphone in hand, she surveys the excited crowd before delivering an announcement that sends the arena buzzing.
"SuperClash is just around the corner," she begins, her tone commanding yet enthusiastic, "and as a celebration of the incredible depth of the AWA women's division, we’re raising the stakes.
Anyone who wins a match this month and doesn’t already have a spot at SuperClash will qualify for the Main Event—a high-stakes scramble match for the AWA Women’s World Championship!"
Phoenix continues, detailing the competitors already set to compete in this monumental match.
"The Iron Roses—Jamie Hayter, Jordynne Grace, and Shayna Baszler—have already punched their tickets. Deonna Purrazzo and Dakota Kai will join them as confirmed participants," she declares to a mix of cheers and murmurs from the crowd. The mere mention of these names paints a picture of a fiercely competitive clash, and Phoenix’s next announcement raises the stakes even higher.
"Tonight, two matches will decide who earns the final spot. A triple-threat and a fatal-four-way match will see their winners face off in tonight’s main event, where one woman will rise to claim the coveted sixth and final place."
Beth pauses, letting the crowd absorb the magnitude of her announcement before concluding.
"This is your chance to show the world what you're made of," she addresses the locker room with determination, her words as much a rallying cry as they are an ultimatum.
"Whoever wins tonight’s matches will have to prove themselves again in the main event, and then, at SuperClash, it’ll be every woman for herself!"
With that, she exits the stage, leaving the audience buzzing with anticipation for the night ahead. Each competitor knows the opportunity in front of them, and the path to SuperClash is about to be paved with unforgettable moments.
…..
Match 1: Billie Starkz vs. Zayda Steel vs. Serena Deeb
This match is a high-octane clash between youth, athleticism, and veteran savvy. Billie Starkz, known for her daredevil style and unpredictability, comes into the match as the underdog fan favorite. Zayda Steel, the athletic powerhouse with a mean streak, wastes no time showing her dominance.
Serena Deeb, a technical wrestling wizard, stays calm and strategic, taking advantage of any openings. Early in the match, Billie flies through the ropes with a suicide dive on Zayda, but Serena pounces, trapping Billie in a leg lock on the floor. Zayda breaks it up with a brutal knee strike and takes control, tossing both opponents into the barricades. Inside the ring, Serena manages to ground Zayda with a methodical assault on her arm, clearly softening her up for the Serenity Lock.
Billie rallies with a series of high-impact kicks and a stunning moonsault onto Serena for a close two-count. Zayda, now furious, uses her strength to hit a double powerbomb on both opponents, showcasing her dominance. The match builds to a frenetic pace as all three women exchange counters and near-falls. In the climax, Billie hits her Swanton Bomb on Zayda but doesn’t get the pin as Serena throws her out of the ring. Serena locks Zayda in the Serenity Lock, wrenching back with precision. Zayda fights valiantly but taps out, giving Serena Deeb the victory. Serena celebrates as the crowd acknowledges her technical brilliance, though Billie’s star power continues to rise.
Winner: Serena Deeb
Match 2: Lola Vice vs. Shotzi Blackheart vs. Giulia vs. Ivy Nile
This four-way battle is a blend of styles and personalities, each competitor bringing something unique to the table. Lola Vice, with her MMA-inspired offense, kicks things off with aggressive strikes, taking the fight directly to Ivy Nile. Shotzi Blackheart, the chaotic wildcard, goes after Giulia, but the ice-cold Stardom icon counters with a series of stiff strikes and a snap German suplex. Ivy Nile, ever the powerhouse, uses her incredible strength to suplex both Lola and Shotzi simultaneously, drawing gasps from the crowd. The chaos spills outside, where Shotzi lives up to her daredevil reputation, diving onto all three opponents with a reckless cannonball senton.
As the match continues, Giulia asserts herself with her precise offense, taking control and nearly pinning Lola with a Glorious Driver II. However, Ivy breaks it up with a brutal lariat. Shotzi fights back with her high-flying, frantic style, hitting a Diving Senton on Ivy, but Lola pulls her out of the pin and traps her in a triangle choke. Giulia sneaks in, leveling Lola with a vicious forearm before locking Shotzi in a Stealth Viper submission. With Shotzi struggling to escape, Ivy Nile slides in and deadlifts her stablemate Giulia into a massive powerbomb, breaking the hold. Ivy then locks Giulia in the Dragon Sleeper, wrenching back with all her strength. Giulia fights but eventually fades, giving Ivy the hard-earned win in a match that showcased everyone’s strengths.
Winner: Ivy Nile
…..
Backstage, Serena Deeb is adjusting her wrist tape when Ivy Nile storms into frame, a cocky smirk on her face.
"Well, well, Serena," Ivy says, her voice dripping with arrogance.
"You know, I keep hearing about how you're the 'Professor,' how you’ve got all this experience. But it doesn’t matter, because H.A.T.E. is here. We’re taking over, and everyone else—especially you—should just bow down and accept it."
Serena raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed, but before she can respond, Ivy steps closer, her intensity filling the room.
"You saw what I did to Giulia, right?" Ivy continues, her tone turning venomous.
"She was supposed to be unstoppable, and I took her out like she was nothing. My own stablemate. What hope does anyone else have against me, huh? You think you’re different? Newsflash: you’re not. I’m going to crush you tonight, Serena, and then I’ll walk into that scramble match and prove why H.A.T.E. is at the top of this division." Ivy’s confidence is unshakable, and she stands toe-to-toe with Deeb, daring her to respond.
Serena finally smirks, unflinching in the face of Ivy’s aggression.
"You’ve got a lot to say, Ivy. But here’s the thing about people who talk too much—they’re usually trying to cover up their insecurities." The tension between the two is palpable as Ivy glares at her, clearly rattled by the jab but refusing to show it. Deeb steps past her, pausing briefly.
"You might have taken out Giulia, but I’m not Giulia. Tonight, I’ll show you what happens when you underestimate a veteran." Serena walks away, leaving Ivy stewing in her own frustration, her smirk replaced by a scowl as the screen fades out.
…..
As the show returns from break, AWA General Manager Beth Phoenix stands confidently in the ring, microphone in hand. The crowd cheers as she wastes no time addressing business.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Beth begins, her tone serious yet inviting,
"I’d like to call down two of the brightest stars in our women’s division. Karmen Petrovic, our current WCW Television Champion, and her upcoming SuperClash opponent, Roxanne Perez." The crowd erupts as Karmen strides to the ring with her championship proudly displayed, followed closely by Roxanne, whose energy and determination light up the arena.
Beth continues, her gaze shifting to Karmen.
"Karmen, you’ve been an incredible champion, and this match against Roxanne has been highly anticipated. But as we usher in a new era for the AWA, I have a proposal for you. Would you be willing to set aside the WCW Television Championship for now and instead compete for something even greater? A new championship that represents the heart and soul of this division.
Karmen, Roxanne, I want you two to battle for the brand new AWA Women’s Television Championship!" The crowd erupts with excitement at the announcement, their cheers filling the arena as both women exchange stunned looks.
Karmen hesitates for a moment, then steps forward with a confident smirk.
"Beth, I’ve always said I’m here to prove I’m the best, and if that means becoming the first-ever AWA Women’s Television Champion, then I’m all in."
Roxanne nods enthusiastically, stepping closer.
"This division deserves a title that represents everything we’re fighting for, and I’m ready to make history." Beth smiles, visibly proud of both competitors.
"Then it’s settled. At SuperClash, history will be made, and one of you will leave as the first AWA Women’s Television Champion. May the best woman win." With the stakes raised, Karmen and Roxanne stare each other down, the anticipation for their clash at an all-time high.
…..
Nigel McGuinness:
“Tenille, I’ve got to tell you, this matchup between Serena Deeb and Ivy Nile is one of the most evenly matched contests I’ve seen in a long time.
On one hand, you have Serena Deeb, the Professor of Wrestling, who can dismantle anyone with her technical precision. On the other hand, Ivy Nile is a powerhouse, and her relentless determination makes her an absolute force to be reckoned with. This one really could go either way!”
Tenille Dashwood:
“Absolutely, Nigel. Both women have so much to prove tonight, and with the final spot in the AWA Women’s World Championship Scramble Match on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher. I mean, Serena’s experience might give her the edge, but Ivy’s raw athleticism and strength are game-changers. This is a classic battle of strategy versus power!”
Nigel McGuinness:
“Speaking of the scramble match, let’s remind everyone of the unique and chaotic rules. The match starts with two superstars in the ring, and every five minutes, another competitor joins the fray. Once all five are in, it’s a 30-minute war. Each time a wrestler scores a pinfall or submission, they’re crowned the interim champion—but here’s the kicker: those reigns aren’t officially recorded. The only thing that matters is who’s holding that interim championship when the clock hits zero.”
Tenille Dashwood:
“It’s such a fascinating match concept, Nigel. You could dominate the entire match but slip up in the last few seconds and lose everything. Or, you could bide your time, strike at the perfect moment, and steal the victory. It’s all about strategy, timing, and endurance. Whoever wins tonight will join four other incredible athletes in a match that promises to be an instant classic.”
Nigel McGuinness:
“Indeed, Tenille. And with the level of competition we’ve seen in AWA’s women’s division, this scramble match is going to be absolutely unpredictable. But first, Serena Deeb and Ivy Nile have to settle their business tonight. Who will earn that coveted final spot? We’re moments away from finding out!”
…..
Main Event Final spot in Scramble Match for the AWA Women’s World Championship on the line.
Ivy Nile vs Serena Deeb
The bell rings, and Serena Deeb and Ivy Nile lock eyes, each aware of the stakes. Deeb, the self-proclaimed “Professor of Wrestling,” uses her technical prowess to frustrate Nile in the opening moments, chaining holds seamlessly and targeting Nile’s left arm. Ivy counters with bursts of raw power, lifting Deeb off her feet with a thunderous spinebuster that earns her the first near fall.
The crowd is captivated as Deeb slows the pace, twisting Nile into a modified armbar and yelling for her opponent to tap. Nile claws her way to the ropes, her strength and resilience on full display.
As the match progresses, Nile begins to find her rhythm, delivering a sequence of suplexes that leave Deeb gasping for air. The crowd erupts when Nile powers through Deeb’s counter attempts and hoists her up into a delayed vertical suplex, flexing her biceps before slamming her opponent into the mat.
Deeb, however, showcases her veteran instincts by rolling out of the ring to regroup. When Nile follows, Deeb traps her in the apron skirt and rains down vicious forearms. Back in the ring, Deeb shifts into high gear, hitting a dragon screw leg whip and locking Nile in the Serenity Lock. The younger competitor grits her teeth and drags herself to the ropes, refusing to give in.
In the final stretch, Nile powers through a German suplex attempt, reversing it into a jaw-dropping deadlift powerbomb. As she climbs to the top rope, looking to finish with a diving crossbody, Deeb counters with a perfectly timed knee to the gut on impact. Seizing the moment, Deeb traps Nile in a crucifix pin, securing the three-count in a dramatic finish.
The crowd showers both women with applause, recognizing their incredible chemistry and effort. Serena Deeb rolls to the outside, clutching her ribs but smiling triumphantly, while Nile sits in the ring, frustrated but earning the crowd’s respect for her performance. Deeb advances to the scramble match, her technical mastery securing her spot as a major threat to the AWA Women’s World Championship.
